Adoption of the constitution The association and its property will be administered and managed in accordance with the provisions in Parts 1 and 2 of this constitution. 2. Name The association’s name is The Friends of Jesmond Dene (and in this document it is called the charity). 3. Objects The charity’s objects (‘the objects’) are to improve, preserve and promote the environment within and around the park known as Jesmond Dene in the City of Newcastle upon Tyne, for the benefit of wildlife and visitors. To further these objects, the charity will undertake:

to organise concerted action and promote cooperation between local authorities, local groups and other persons for the purpose of improving, preserving and promoting Jesmond Dene in the City of Newcastle upon Tyne for the benefit of the public,
•
to assist the Park Rangers and others employed to manage the aforementioned park by encouraging members and the general public to volunteer in a variety of ways.
•
to educate members and the general public, including children, about the park environment, its natural history and the history of the parks
•
to act as a centre for furnishing and procuring advice and information about Jesmond Dene and adjacent parks in the City of Newcastle upon Tyne.
•
to raise funds to further the objects of the charity.
•
to make representation at public enquiries or in such other ways as from time to time appear necessary.
•
to carry out additional activities deemed necessary to further the objects.
