Sandra M. Moreau 1948-2015 Sandra Moreau (nee Raeburn) was born in Oxbow on November 22, 1948 to Russell and Hazel Raeburn. She had two older siblings Ruth and Leigh. She grew up on the family farm 4 miles north of Gainsborough. She attended school at Cayuga School until it closed and then ¿nished High School in Gainsborough. She married Guy Moreau of Bellegarde April 19, 1969 and moved to the Moreau family farm one mile south of Bellegarde where she continued to live until her passing. They adopted two children Ivan and Gina which completed their family. Sandra was welcoming and loved her children’s spouses – Roxanne and Bill. Sandra’s lights of her life were her 4 grandchildren - Nicholas, Robynne, Benjamin and Grady. Sandra battled every day with her Diabetes and never ever complained. She always was positive and faced challenges head on. She was welcoming and made everyone feel special. She always had time for a chat either on the phone or a drop by visit, a cup a coffee and a ‘small’ lunch – of course lunch that would ¿ll the table. She had a smile and way that ¿lled everyone’s heart with joy. Sandra passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday June 7, 2015 at the Regina General Hospital. She is lovingly remembered for her strength, determination and positivity by her husband Guy; children, Ivan (Roxanne) Moreau, Bellegarde, SK and Gina (Bill) Macleod, Whitehorse, YT; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Robynne Moreau and Benjamin and Grady Macleod; brother Leigh (Sharon) Raeburn, Saskatoon, SK; nieces Michelle (Dean) Polowich, Jaymie (Stuart) Zary, Tracey (Dean) Bonagofsky; nephew Allan (Lilli) Packard. She is also survived by her cherished sisters-in-law, Marcia, Francine, Gisele and their families. She is also survived by many extended family and friends. Sandra is predeceased by her parents, Russell and Hazel Raeburn; sister Ruth and her husband Jim Packard; parents in law Alphonse and Angeline Moreau, sister in law Amy and her husband Sid Ameel, niece Tina Martin and brother in law, Gilles Blezy. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m at St. Maurice R.C. Church in Bellegarde, SK by Rev. Anthony Padayatty. Interment followed at St. Maurice Parish Cemetery. It was Sandra’s wish that memorial donations may be made to the St. Maurice Parish Cemetery or Gainsborough Cemetery fund or charity of choice. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Redvers, SK. The family of Sandra would like to thank you for all your kind words and support during this time. In closing, we thought we would share this poem in honor of Sandra: I Am Free Don’t grieve for me for I am free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard His call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found peace at the close of day. If my parting has a left a void, Then ¿ll it with remembered joys; A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee. God wanted me now, he set me free.
