Daily Expression Today I would like to introduce you some expression that can be useful in daily life when you live in Japan or you are invited at home by some Japanese friends ただいま - tadaima I am home. This is the expression all people says when they arrive at home おかえりなさい -okaeri nasai - Welcome back. Who is at home reply with this sentence. Normally your mother or your spouse will come to door to welcome you よくいらっしゃいました - Yoku irasshaimashita -thank you for coming. This expression is used when you welcome a guest in your house お上がり ください - oagari kudasai - please come in. You are inviting inside someone お邪魔します - ojama shimasu - this is the expression used by the guest entering at friend’s or other people home. It means something like” Excuse me for disturbing”
Pattern (not changed from last lesson) Today pattern is [noun]の隣 [noun] no tonari that means “next to [noun]”. 渇望 - katsuboo but spelled with the historical hiragana katsubau it means, earnest desire, thirst 觀 has been simplified in 観 so the word is 観光, the 観 means look, view, sight, appearance, see, observe, to view. Current spelling is kankoo and it means tourism or sight seeing, but the spelling in the book is くわんくわう - kuwankuwau that is an historical pronunciation and means sightsee. 世界 - Sekai that means world さりとて - written also as 然りとて: having say that , but, however 未 だ - imada - not yet, more, besides, unfinished yet, only, still. This can be read as well as mada or hitsujida ⼤⼈ - otona - adult, grown up でもない - it is not (like that); used to explicitly deny one thing while also implicitly denying other things.
