The katakana derives form the Kanji 多 that means many or much also in Chinese the pronunciation of this kanji can be “Ta” or Ooi or “Masaru”, like in the following compounds: 多分 tabun that means probably or perhaps or maybe, in Chinese it is DuoFen and means exactly the same. Let’s check this example 多分皆さんはそれを知っています Tabun minnasan wa sore o shitte imasu Perhaps all of you knows that Where we can see は to mark the subject 皆さん - minnasan -all of you. それ - sore meaning that れ - o - to mark the object of the verb 知っています - shitte imasu- form to indicate to know

Vocabulary: ゐ - wi, this is an historical hiragana now almost disappeared, currently we should use the hiragana for “i” 洩 - mo means to leak ⼜癖 - kuchiguse spelled kuchikuse means pet saying, favorite phrase (favorite), stock phrase, manner of talking. It can be also written in the following ways: ⼜ぐせ 【くちぐせ】 渇望 - katsuboo but spelled with the historical hiragana katsubau it means, earnest desire, thirst 觀 has been simplified in 観 so the word is 観光, the 観 means look, view, sight, appearance, see, observe, to view. さりとて - written also as 然りとて: having say that , but, however 未 だ - imada - not yet, more, besides, unfinished yet, only, still.
