MONGOLIAN ENGLISH LESSON 9

Genitive case Genitive case it is related to ownership of something, in English we implement this essentially in 2 main way:

1)

Genitive Saxon: Peter’s book -> Петрийн ном

2)

By mean of the particle “of”: the Book of Peter -> Петрийн ном

Where nom (ном) means book and it stays in nominative, but Peter is declined adding the IN ending

In the same way: Ээжийн ном this mean the book of the mother

аавынхаа гэр-> the house of the father

It is important to note that гэр that we translate with house it means traditionally the tent (yurta)
