A Brief Description of the Spindrift Properties Situated with extraordinary privacy and Southwest exposure on one of the most coveted streets from Carmel to Big Sur and along the craggy and picturesque California coastline. (Add Map) The compound represents the consolidation of two prior separetely owned properties that were essentially torn to the ground, except for the maintenance of their original foundational footprints, which essentially survived for purposes of streamlining approvals through the California Coastal Commission. The two seperate lots, located at the gateway to Big Sur, on the granite coastal cliffs of Carmel Highlands’ famous Spindrift Road, encompass over 2 acres of oceanfront land. A unique feature of the land includes the four coves that make their way inland into the coastal canyon inlets of the property and a mature Cypress gove, which resides on approximately half the combined property.
The Property Layout
Six (6) structures reside on the property: ■■ Two (2) main houses ■■ Two (2) detached garages ■■ Two (2) smaller one-bedroom guesthouses. Three of the four living structures are cited very dramatically on the bluff side with anywhere from 85 to 120 feet in elevation to the ocean. Throughout the property and within the six structures there are: ■■ Six en suite bedrooms; ■■ six full bathrooms and two half baths; ■■ Twor full kitchens and one smaller but efficient kitchenette; ■■ A wet bar; ■■ Two large living rooms with jaw-dropping ocean views; ■■ Three dining areas; ■■ Several independent sitting areas; ■■ One exterior and five interior stone fireplaces; ■■ An office area; ■■ A workout room; ■■ Artist studio; ■■ Two garages; ■■ Three laundry and utility areas; ■■ One exterior fireplace, two fire pits; ■■ And a soon-to-be completed permanent stone hot tub.
