Our Cub S c o u t g r o u p h a d a w o n d e r f u l t i m e camping o u t i n t h e w i l d e r n e s s o v e r on t h e s u n s h i n e c o a s t . To g e t t h e r e , we h a d t o c a t c h t h e f e r r y a t Horshoe Bay, a n d a f t e r b o a r d i n g we were t o l d i t would t a k e 4 5 min. t o g e t t h e r e . On r e a c h i n g G i b s o n , we went by v e h i c l e t o t h e w i l d e r n e s s c a m p s i t e . The f i r s t c h o r e d i d was t o make a c o s y f i r e i n t h e l o d g e 1s f i r e p l a c e . We s a n g s o n g s and h a d a b e d t i m e s n a c k . Our camp was b a s e d on a n a t i v e theme, making u s e o f n a t u r e h i k e s and c r e a t i n g d i f f e r e n t c r a f t s t o go a l o n g w i t h t h i s . We w e r e i n t r o d u c e d t o a n e i g h t y y e a r - o l d man who comes up h e r e e v e r y summer t o help c l e a r the wilderness t r a i l s .
