I n a f u n c t i o n i n g LETSystem a n appointed t r u s t e e records t h e e x c h a n g e s and makes s u r e t h a t t h e service/work/goods b u l l e t i n b o a r d i s k e p t up t o d a t e .

What makes t h e D.E.E.D.S. e x p e r i m e n t u n i q u e w i t h i t s LETSysteni r e s e a r c h i s the effort t o see i f there is a w i l l i n g n e s s t o c r e a t e a LET System i n an u r b a n e n v i r o n m e n t .

Relative t o t h i s , the volunteer s t r u c t u r e o f t h e community s e r v i c e a g e n c i e s i n t h e Downtown Eastside deserves special a t t e n tion.

I f , how, and when t h e s e e d f o r a LETSystem i s t o be p l a n t e d w i 11 be a eom~nunity d e c i s i o n .
