The Feb. 19 program featured by Helen Potrebenko, Judy Radul, Gerry Gilbert and Ken Lester. Performance-poetry duo Rhythm Activism and singer-musicians Dave Grepg and 9 Leal also performed. This was the first of a series of poetry/spoken word demonstrations aimed at recognizing the importance of poetry in the lives of everyday people. This event focuses on ~ancouver'sDowntown Eastside, an active community that has a lot to say for itself.
