The Carol Stream Park District Board of Commissioners consists of seven individuals who are elected by residents to represent the community’s best interests. The charge of the Board is to set policies that guide the Park District. Board members serve a four-year term and receive no compensation for the time they give. They come from a variety of backgrounds and share one important trait ― a commitment to serving the park and recreational needs of our community.

ActivKids Before & After Care
ActivKids Before & After School 2015-16 Your kids will have a blast learning new games, sports or creative activities at ActivKids, our before and after school recreation program for kids in Grades K-5. You will love ActivKids for knowing your children are safe, supervised and feel at home in the familiar setting of their own school. ActivKids is convenient, too. Flexible morning drop-off and evening pick-up times mean no rushing to beat the clock. The ActivKids Before and After School program partners with Community Consolidated School District 93 to offer childcare at the elementary schools that accomodates the new school hours.
Monthly Payments:
Monthly payments reflect the number of days a week in which your child is registered. If your child is registered for less than 5 days per week, your monthly payment will be less. Fees already exclude school holidays, breaks and nonattendance days.

ActivTime will keep your kids actively engaged in learning new activities each month. A monthly ActivTime calendar is available at csparks.org for you to see what activities are planned for your school. Recent ActivTime activities include: Chicago Fire Soccer, Fountain View Fitness.
How to Register To register for these programs, complete the ActivKids registration forms and submit with payment. Forms are available at your school’s ActivKids site, at csparks.org/activkids or at our Simkus and Fountain View Recreation Centers. Please register a minimum of 24 business hours in advance. Two weeks advance notice is required if your child needs special assistance from a WDSRA aide (1:1 support staff). Go to page 47 for more information on WDSRA. Convenient Payment Options q Sign up for EZ Pay for Automatic Withdrawal of payments via credit card or bank account on the first of every month. w Pay all program fees in-full at time of registration and receive one free week of your child’s registered enrollment fee!
ActivKids Before & After Care ActivKids Fee Many registration options are available that allow for family flexibility at affordable rates.Registration for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week of Before School care, After School care, or both. Monday-only After School care annual plan available. Reduced pricing for Tuesday through Friday After School care reflects the shorter program time. Flex Pass options allow for the occasional Before or After School stay. New earlier Before School care start time of 6:30am.
Days Off Club Grades: K-6 th (open to students of all school districts)
Days Off Club dates follow the District 93 school calendar. Most dates coincide with other school districts such as, U-46, D200, and D25. Open to students of all school districts. Take part in field trips, special events, and enjoy crafts, games and physical activity. Register prior to 48 hours of the program start date to receive the lowest rates. All registrations are based on program space, staffing, and enrollment. Registrations may be accepted less than 48 hours in advance if there are program openings. Attire
Instructional dance classes are offered on a seasonal basis. These classes do not perform in annual spring dance performance. Parent observation is held during the last class of the session. Only the registered child is allowed to attend and participate in the dance class.
Girls may wear leotard, tights, pants or capris depending on the class. Boys may wear athletic pants or shorts, t-shirt and socks. Appropriate shoes are required for each dance discipline. Instructor will discuss dress code at first class.

Dancers can still register for recital classes and perform in the Spring Rectial. Deadline to register is November 16. When are dance recital classes? Recital classes run from September through May and include the annual spring dance performance. When do I register? Recital classes begin in September. Registration is accepted until November 16. How much does it cost to register? A $47 recital costume fee is due at the time of registration. Costume fee is per registered dancer and is non-refundable beginning December 1. How can I pay for recital classes? Payment for recital classes can be made in-full at the time of registration, or monthly EZ pay payments can be arranged. When is the dance recital held? Staying physically active is essential to good health and walking, jogging or running are great physical activities to help you stay active and maintain a healthy weight too! The goal of this challenge is to walk, jog or run 500 miles within one year (52 weeks), which means you will have to average around 1.4 miles per day or 9-10 miles per week to stay on pace. As you reach each goal you will earn free prizes. Every time you walk, jog or run on the indoor track or on one of the treadmills, complete a tracking ticket with the date and number of miles and simply drop it in the slot. Sign up with Code 44800 and we will do all of the tracking for you. An easy way to track your progress is to wear a pedometer, a lap counter or try one of the free pedometer apps for your smartphone.

Trip Refunds We understand that trip cancellations sometimes cannot be avoided. Cancellations are accepted prior to the payment due date. After that, refunds will be given if you find a replacement or a participant on the waitlist takes your spot. The Springers of Carol Stream is a year round gymnastics program starting in May for ages 6-18 years. Springers compete in the Illinois Park District Gymnastic Conference at the tumbling, compulsory, and optional levels. Must have Head Coach permission to register. Youth Sports FAQs Parent Code of Conduct
Register at csparks.org or pick up a registration packet at the Simkus Recreation Center. By registering your child you agree to comply with the Parent Code of Conduct which can be accessed on the home web page of each youth sports league and is discussed by the coach at their preseason parent meeting.
How do I register for soccer and tee ball leagues? Registration is by grade level. Players are to be registered for the grade the player will be in for 2015/16 school year. Preschoolers must be 4 years old by program start date. Participants can participate in Instructional Tee Ball and Instructional Soccer without conflict.

How do I register for youth baseball?

How do I register for youth softball?
Registration is by age. Players are to be registered based on their age as of December 31, 2015.
Can my child play up?
Playing up is not allowed for instructional soccer or tee ball. For all other leagues playing up is allowed by one age or grade level but the following process must be adhered to: q The player must register at his or her age or grade. w A request to play up must be made to the program supervisor. e The player must attend the evaluation day for the sport and must attend at the time designated for the requested league/level (i.e. if a player should be playing in the Mustang league but wants to play in the Bronco league, player must attend the Bronco player evaluation).
Staff Positions - Umpires and Referees
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Contracts are available at the Simkus Recreation Center and at csparks.org. Call 630-784-6100 for further information.
What happens if I register after the deadline?
Players placed on a wait list are not guaranteed placement on a team. If you register before team formation the player will be moved off the wait list if there are enough to form an additional team. However, if you register after team formation, or if another team cannot be formed, placement will only be done when a team or teams are below the established maximum number of team participants. Players will not be added to any team one week prior to the first scheduled game.
Can I request for my child to be placed on a specific team?
No, due to the nature of the program, we cannot accept any other coach, player, or carpool requests. However, one mutual friendship request will be honored for players in an instructional league, Pinto (8U) baseball, or grade 1 and 2 soccer. A park district request form must be used for these requests and the guidelines listed on the form must be followed. These forms are available at Simkus Recreation Center and on our web site. Request deadlines are the same as registration deadlines (not early bird).
How do I volunteer to help?
Applications are available at Simkus Recreation Center and at csparks.org. Call 630-784-6100 for further information. Volunteers are used for the following positions: League Coordinators, Managers/Head Coaches,Coaches/Assistant Coaches, Tournament Team Managers (Baseball/Softball/Soccer).
What is the meet and greet?
The meet and greet is a set time where players, parents, and coaches meet each other and hand out any necessary information, and in some cases will receive their uniforms.
What is the player evaluation?
Players get rated based on each skill set for that particular sport. All players are welcome but new players and players who are playing up a level are required to attend.

Additional Information: Our program follows the District 93 school calendar September-May. Parents/ Caregivers must follow the Drop-Off and Pick-Up procedures at Elk Trail Recreation Center. Children can be dropped-off up to 15 minutes prior to the start of class, and picked-up no more than 15 minutes after class ends or register for early drop off. Where are lessons held? Swim lessons are held at Fountain View Recreation Center, 910 N. Gary Ave., Carol Stream, in the new 25-yard indoor pool and therapy pool.

How do I register? New swimmers — select a swim class level based on your child’s age and previous lesson history or attend a skill test day. Returning swimmers — select a swim class level based on your child’s previous swim lesson report card. Class levels may be combined if deemed appropriate. Classes fill quickly; transferring from one level to another is not always possible. If you have questions, please call our Aquatic Coordinator at 630-784-6182. How does my child progress through levels? Swimmers will receive a report card at the end of the session indicating which level to register for in the next session. What happens on the first day? Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. Please stay for the entire swimmer’s class, in case of emergency where consent is required. What should we bring? Please bring — towel, swimsuit already on child; non-potty trained participants must wear a swim diaper with tightly fitting plastic pants under swimsuit; report card from previous session. Do not bring — swimming aids; lifejackets, water wings, flippers, or snorkel masks that cover the nose. Snacks and treats are recommended to be eaten after lessons. What if I miss a class? Refunds and make-ups will not be given for classes missed or forgotten.

In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who’ve been cast off by Lord Farquaad. When Shrek sets off with a wise-cracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task - if he rescues feisty Princess Fiona from the Dragon-guarded tower, his swamp will be returned to him. This part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek Jr., has unexpected twists and turns along the way and is an irreverently fun show for the whole family. Once the maximum enrollment is met for a class, a waiting list will be formed. We will create additional classes when feasible and you will be contacted. Credits will be processed after the first class. Payment is due when being waitlisted. Credits will be issued after the first class for those who are not able to be registered.

Payment Full payment for most programs is due at the time of registration. Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card (Visa/MC/AMEX/DISC). Make checks payable to the Carol Stream Park District. There is a $20 fee for returned checks.

Insurance The Park District does not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants or park patrons. Please review your personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have proper coverage.

Photography Policy
Most classes need a set minimum number of participants to be able to run them. Please register at least a week before the start date.
Carol Stream Park District occasionally takes photographs and videos of participants in park district programs, classes or events for marketing purposes. Park District residents are also welcome to submit their own photos to info@csparks.org.
Program Capacity All programs have minimum and maximum enrollments. If the minimum enrollment is not met one week prior to the program date, the Park District may have to cancel, postpone or consolidate the program with another program. If the program is cancelled, full credits will be issued.

Financial Assistance We offer financial assistance/scholarships for qualified Carol Stream Park District residents. Confidential applications are available at the Simkus Recreation Center.

Your Outdoor Event Picnic Shelter Rentals
Picnic shelters are available to rent from April-October. Located at Armstrong, Bierman, Hampe, McCaslin, Red Hawk, Slepicka and Volunteer parks. Information packets with locations, amenities and reservation guidelines are available from Fountain View and Simkus.
Dive in to a pool party at Fountain View Recreation Center. Splash Bash parties cost $179 and are for ages 4–10 years. Splash Bash parties includes: One hour use of party room with two party hosts prior to swimming.Two hours of swimming. Food and Beverage for up to 12 guests including birthday child.
