If you have kids age 0-17, we have a special recreation guide full of fun programs and activities just for them. Want a copy? Call us at (630) 7846100 and we’ll mail you one. You can also shop online at csparks.org.

The new Fountain View Recreation Center has been built to be eco-friendly, with features including geothermal heating and cooling, permeable paving, energy efficient lighting, and several bio-swales near the main entrance. So what are bio-swales? These shallow ditches (shown above) are filled with vegetation and designed to act like natural filters for stormwater runoff. The design helps regulate the flow of rain water and remove silt and pollution from surface runoff water.

This program guide is printed on recycled paper using eco-friendly soy ink. You can help our guides become even greener - when the season’s over, don’t trash them, recycle them! The new Fountain View Recreation Center at 910 N. Gary Ave will open in fall 2013. Visit csparks.org/referendum for construction updates and photos.

In the Heights

Wednesday, Oct 2

In the Heights, nominated for 13 Tony Awards, is a story of dreams and sacrifices, loyalties and love, all taking place in one city block surrounded by millions. This is an amazing show filled with powerful Latin-inspired music, beautiful ballads and even a little poetry. The set for this production will astound you the minute you walk into Paramount Theatre in Aurora. Please eat lunch prior to this play.

This hilarious new musical from Grammy Award-winner Dolly Parton at Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire features the hit title song and a Tony Award-nominated score. 9 to 5 is the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the rolodex era. When three unlikely friends take control of the office and put their ‘sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot’ of a boss in his place, they learn there is nothing they can’t do, even in a man’s world. Lunch is on your own at Portillo’s.

Who We Are

The new play structure at Coral Cove Water Park

Referendum Project Updates Fountain View Recreation Center After 18 months of construction Fountain View Recreation Center is set to open on September 7, 2013. The new 90,846 square foot building also has numerous eco-friendly features, such as a geothermal heating/cooling system, and permeable pavers in the parking lot, which has enabled the center to be eligible for a grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation (ICECF). The center is expected to be rated as a LEED silver building.

The Carol Stream Parks Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing additional financial support for public parks and recreation programs of the Carol Stream Park District. It is managed by a board of directors who live or work locally and are passionate about providing a strong financial foundation for parks and recreation in the community.

What We Do

We build and strengthen the financial resources of the district by receiving gifts, grants, bequests and endowments on the district’s behalf. Contributions from individuals and businesses are used to improve or add to existing park projects or programs, or to help fund future projects.

How You Can Help McCaslin Park Phase two of McCaslin Park redevelopment is scheduled to begin in fall 2013. Phase two projects will include: • Two shade structures by the hub • Bank shot basketball court • Spray park • Two shelters on the east side of the park • Additional paths leading from Wheaton bible church to Coyote crossing • Bank slide • Sand volleyball

Playgrounds & Trails A new playground has been installed as Barbara O’Rahilly Volunteer Park. The old playground was donated to the charity Kids Around the World, who will refurbish playground equipment and install them in countries across the globe, including Ecuador, Zambia and Haiti. As part of the McCaslin Park phase II projects a new playgound has also been installed at the ballfields.

Coral Cove Water Park Phase one projects for Coral Cove Water Park were completed in time for the 2013 season. Work included repairing areas of the concrete deck, resurfacing the diving board, and replacing the sand play area with a new dry play structure on a soft astroturf surface. A new path was also been added to link the water play structure, dry play area and tots splash area. Visit csparks.org/referendum-projects for more information

When you make a gift to Carol Stream Parks Foundation, you are giving a lasting gift to your community. It’s a wonderful way to help improve the parks and programs you know and love, and ensure they will be there for generations to come.

Make a Donation Your donation will help us fund our Scholarship Program; Parks & Facility Improvements ; Program Enhancements and Green Initiatives. As a 501(c)3 corporation, all contributions to the organization are tax deductible. Identified donors will receive a written receipt. Mail your donation to: The Carol Stream Parks Foundation c/o 849 W Lies Rd Carol Stream, IL 60188

Make a Bequest

Including a gift of any size in your will is a way you can leave a legacy for your parks. For more information, visit our website or ask your attorney. info@csparks.org (630) 784 6100 csparksfoundation.org
