We’re Always Listening... Got an idea you want to share with us? Don’t wait! Here are three easy ways to tell us what’s on your mind:

Small changes can add up to a big difference, so we’ve made a few small changes to our program guides this season, to add up to big difference to the environment. Fewer trees: we’re saving trees by reducing the number of pages in our guides and using recycled paper from sustainable forests. Easier to recycle: gloss paper is harder to recycle, so we’ve switched from a gloss to a matte cover to make our guides better for recycling. Less energy: our guides are now cold-set printed, which means the ink dries naturally instead of under energy intensive heaters. Less chemicals: by using eco-friendly soy ink, fewer chemicals are needed to print our program guides.

24 Hour-Hotline Call (630) 784-6199, ext. 300 anytime to leave a voice message. Be sure to leave your name and phone number if you want a reply.

You can help our guides become even greener. When the season’s over, don’t trash them, recycle them!

CSParks Green Tips Harvest your rainwater Put your rainwater to good use by installing a water barrel on your downspout. Using rainwater

for your garden can reduce your water bill, and it’s better for your plants than tap water.

Start composting Create your own mulch for next spring with a compost heap. Composting leaves, vegetable scraps and even coffee grounds is great for your garden and keeps waste out of the landfill.

Ditch the plastic Throwing a party in the fall? Go green by switching from plastic utensils to biodegradable, wooden cutlery and recyclable paper plates.

Suggestion Boxes Jot down your comments and drop them in one of the suggestion boxes in the lobby at the Simkus Recreation Center and the Aldrin Community Center.

Go solar Cut your electricity bill by using a solar powered battery charger to power up your cell phone, iPod and other gadgets. For more information on how the park district is taking action against climate change, go to www.csparks.org/environment

Due to his heavy schedule, Santa will stay for five minutes in front of each house and will only be able to visit with immediate family members. You will need to be available 5:30 to 8:00 pm so Santa finds you at home. Please register by November 25, as Santa has many children to visit and will need to know his schedule early! Shorter Sessions

The Bartlett Park District’s swim lesson program is for swimmers of all ages. On the first day of lessons parents will receive a parent manual which explains each of the levels in depth, and gives information on each specific level. Due to the limited amount of space on our pool deck, parents will be asked to sit either in the bleachers or viewing area. For those who have already been in our swim lesson program, please sign your child up for lessons according to a previous swim lesson report card. Before registering for a swim lesson, review your child’s previous lesson history and age limitations of class. Classes fill quickly and transferring from one level to another is not always possible. If you have questions, please ask at the Registration Desk. Registration will close 3 days prior to the start of the class. Please note the time and dates of your lesson. No refunds or make-ups will be given for classes missed or forgotten. The park district reserves the right to combine class levels if deemed appropriate. Class Length: M-Th - 40 minutes.

All early childhood classes are staffed by experienced instructors, which will allow your child to become comfortable in a classroom setting. Many programs use a similar class structure to our Preschool program. Your child will learn socialization skills, respect for others, and listening skills all in our fun classroom environment. The teacher to student ratio in child-only programs is 1:9 or less.
