The Tenterden Christmas Market takes place on Friday December 5th when all along the high street there will be brightly lit market stalls and the majority of the town’s shops will be open until nine o’clock. It’s become a hugely popular tradition and it gets Christmas off to a wonderful start. Why not come along and enjoy the festivities?
It’s always a special event and an opportunity for people to have fun, shop for Christmas presents and even meet Father Christmas himself! Glittering fairy lights and glowing Christmas trees sparkling above the shops make for a truly magical atmosphere. Indulge in some street food and enjoy festive entertainment including carol singing, dancing, and much much more! This year we plan to have a ferris wheel in the town which will be really exciting for older children, plus a teacups roundabout and a couple of other rides for the younger children to enjoy too.
Tenterden & District Chamber of Commerce (TDCC)
Enjoy festive delights, mooch around the craft stalls, discover that perfect gift, see the high street transformed with the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional Christmas market!
There’ll also be a wide variety of festive stalls in the high street until 9pm, the shops will be open late too and the council run car parks will be free from 2pm onwards and throughout the evening!
Every Christmas time the Tenterden Chamber of Commerce organises a best dressed window competition. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy all of them and choose your favourite as you wander the length of the high street. And remember to bring your Tenterden Loyalty Card with you so you can take advantage of some special discounts and promotions on the evening. To find out more about the Tenterden Loyalty Card visit us online at www.ilovetenterden.co.uk.

An Authentic Chicken Curry This month’s recipe comes from the lovely Shirley Saeed from Hastings who has kindly agreed to share her recipe and (some of) her secrets to produce the most delicious Chicken Curry. You can also add two tablespoons of coconut milk to give it a rich cooking time. Ingredients: 5 to 7 large banana shallots, peeled
