Interior design inspired by space cabins

The warm colours are inspired by pictures from the Curiosity robot in Mars. The Martian soil, sky and sorroundings. The cold colors are the human interaction with Mars, the space rocket, space suits and technology.

Metallics, in leather or fabric, they relate to the space suit and the many layers needed to prevent sun insolation. They can appear in many colors but silver is the main shade.
Jaquemus
Neoprene allows structured shapes but with the movement of a mesh fabric. This gives a furistic look to the products and the its clean cut brings interesting shapes.

Plastics are the subproduct of modern society and also space food. Its use in clothes and accessories always lead people to question its value as a material, although high-tech polymers are ment to be the future.
The jewellery shapes are inspired by the planets rotations and dispositions in the solar system. Crossing lines and different sphere sizes are brought together.
The headpiece is also a recurent item, a mix of the 60’s futurism with a contemporary twist. Its design recalls in someway the astronaut helmet.
The handbag shapes are all curved, rounded or oval to represent the universe. From atoms, to cells, to planets, the circle is the ultimate form. It’s a visually confortable and friendly shape.
The hardware is composed by a lot ot metallic details. Huge rivets become a design feature, as well as the metal handle. Plus some rounded details like the buckle and zipper puller.

Stone Island - Pixel reflective jacket A kind of garment dyeing developed by the company that reflects any sort of light, even weak ones. Technology: nylon metal fabric printed with resin with thousands of refractive glass microsphere.
Silver Metallic Parka and UV protective swimsuit Ultrathin parka coated with metallic molecules that make it very warm. The swimsuit is made of UV-protective material to protect the body from really strong sunlight.
Siemens Ivory Pleated Skirt and Jacket Wearable tech controlled by smartphone. It is able to display live tweets, animations or illuminated patterns. Technology: CuteCircuit, multiple environmental sensors.

MIT Research - Biological Humidity sensitive bacterias are linked in this project with sports clothes. As they sense the heat and sweat, the bacterias expand and ‘curl’ the fabric, resulting in open breathable openings in the skin.

Space Spa - Lucy McRae The artist idea was to prepare people for space, this meant a series of experiments like placing participants in a vacuum chamber. This deliberately isolated the senses, reducing tension and anxiety in the body. The inspiration came from NASA’s 1960’s invention for a lower body negative pressure device.
