Drive ban begins April 30

SOUTHPARK – Days after the Urban Land Institute deemed the SouthPark area lacking in pedestrian, bicycle and road connections, Charlotte declared a ban of all vehicular traffic, effective April 30.

Roads within a five-mile radius of SouthPark Mall will be restriped into much smaller bike lanes, while abandoned cars alongside streets will be used for affordable and workforce housing.

Residents in neighboring towns are begging the city to reconsider, even encouraging state lawmakers to intervene with an emergency session to overturn the ban.

“We want to see how this plays out,” said a Raleigh lawmaker wearing a “Charlotte sucks” pin on his lapel.

Charlotte unveils marketing campaign

CHARLOTTE – The city has launched a new marketing campaign to recruit and retain business. It’s called “Boycott North Carolina, Not Charlotte.”

It’s aimed at people publicly trying to financially cripple the state after lawmakers overturned Charlotte’s pro-LGBT bathroom ordinance. The actor who portrayed Meathead on “All in the Family” is among those calling to flush the state economy into the toilet.

“Sha-Sha-Charlotte is part of North Carolina,” say several nervous business folks, noting that boycotting an entire state means hurting cities that encourage diversity.

INDIAN TRAIL – The Moser Group is not only working to give Indian Trail its first hotel, but also build mixed-use developments that will attract higher-quality restaurants and more diverse stores.

Dennis Moser plans to add a 112-room hotel with conference space and a swimming pool to Sun Valley Commons, which is anchored by Harris Teeter. Moser hasn’t revealed the hotel franchisor, but he says it’s an “inn and suites” concept.

“If it’s one thing that I hear Indian Trail needs more than anything else, it is a hotel,” Moser told members of the Indian Trail Planning Board this month.

He has tried to bring a hotel to town since 2011, but he was unable to find the right brand.

“However in the last six months, I’ve been able to attract one that is amazing,” Moser said. “Personally, it’s where I stay when I travel. It’s very, very exciting.”

John Ross, of Eagle Engineering, said the hotel would be marketed to business travelers during the week, as there are 3,500 jobs around the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport. Weekends could bring visitors to recreational amenities, such as Extreme Ice Center and Carolina Courts, or loved ones to nearby homes.

Patricia Cowan, chair of the planning board, said Indian Trail needs a hotel, with sites like Extreme Ice Center attracting visitors across the country. A customer recently came into her store from Alaska.

Cowan sees the town deriving benefits from hotel taxes, as well as preventing fewer dining dollars leaving town for Matthews, Stallings or Monroe.

Town staff has introduced a text amendment limiting where hotels can be built without permission from commissioners. The amendment would allow hotels in the Sun Valley Village center, since the town identified it as a shopping and entertainment district in 2013. This would affect three shopping centers: Sun Valley Commons, Shops at Sun Valley and The Shoppes at Hanfield Village.

Hotels have been allowed in the regional business district along U.S. 74. Burhans said Sun Valley is the largest commercial district outside of U.S. 74.

Town staff recommended several design stan-

dards for hotels: • Rooms can only be accessed from inside, eliminating motor coach-style hotels.

• Balconies must be at least 200 feet from residential property.

• Swimming pools must be located on the side of the building.

• Guests can’t stay more than 30 consecutive days.

• Accessory uses can’t exceed 20 percent unless granted through condition rezoning.

• Height is limited to 50 feet or four stories.

Moser had concerns about limiting the height of the hotel and accessory uses. He wanted the height to be as high as the nearby Sun Valley 14 movie theater (63 feet), and he didn’t want to lose conference space.

The planning board sided with Moser on the height requirement, recommending he be allowed to build as high as the theater. Hotels also could go higher if they went through conditional rezoning.

Planning board member Larry Miller expressed concerns about increased traffic in the Sun Valley area.

Ross said a hotel would generate less traffic than a commercial use. Moser reasoned the town wouldn’t be able to get high-quality restaurants it needs without increased traffic.

Mixed-use development will allow for enough density needed to attract the right kind of retail and restaurants, Moser said.

Moser craves a high-end steakhouse, but he’s also looking to diversify beyond restaurants at Sun Valley Commons, like shops selling women’s shoes or sporting goods.

“We want to get the other retail uses there that make sense to diversify this into a real destination center,” Moser said. “Dick’s Sporting Goods would be dynamite with four schools right across the street.”

Town staff is trying to control mixed-use development, allowing such projects within general business districts in village center areas, specifically Austin Village, Old Monroe, Rocky River and Sun Valley.

The town defines a mixed-used development as a building with at least one residential floor and one nonresidential floor. Commercial or office uses are allowed on first and second floors with housing on the others. Buildings are limited to 50 feet or four stories.

Town commissioners have to sign off on the amendments before the hotel and mixed-use development projects become official.

News Briefs Union County Parks and Rec to hold public hearing April 9 WAXHAW – Union County Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public hearing on April 9, a Saturday, at 10 a.m. to discuss the 2016 Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant.

Weddington seeks volunteers for annual litter sweep April 16 WEDDINGTON – The town is seeking volunteers to help with its Spring 2016 Litter Sweep Campaign. The bi-annual sweep is a statewide roadside litter cleanup campaign sponsored by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The sweep will take place April 16, a Saturday, at 9 a.m. Volunteers and community groups will meet at Weddington Town Hall, located at 1924 Weddington Road. Trash bags and orange safety vests will be provided. Participants should bring their own gloves.

A prize will be given for the most unusual item collected.

Union County Heritage Festival slated for April 9, 10 MONROE – The Union County Extension Master Gardeners will present its Heritage Festival on April 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Union County Agricultural Center. The festival is an official event of the 2016 North Carolina Science Festival, presented by the Biogen Foundation.

Hospice of Union County hosts social work luncheon March 23 MONROE – Hospice of Union County hosted more than 75 social workers and case managers in the ballroom of Rolling Hills Country Club on March 23 in honor of National Social Work Month.

Social workers and case managers at the luncheon were recognized for their personal contributions in the community with gifts, raffle prizes and lunch. Success Coach from Wingate University, Masoy Henry, spoke on the topic of collaboration, and how people are unique and together complete in their roles as social workers.

Makeover nearly complete at historic Waxhaw home WAXHAW – The town is committing an additional $54,000 to finish renovating the DuncanMcDonald House this month.

Waxhaw commissioners approved a $300,000 budget to renovate the home in 2014-15.

Town Manager Warren Wood explained some of additional expenses were realized recently, including the need for ramp access and bathrooms compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as appliances, heating, air conditioning, and security system to protect “irreplaceable memorabilia.”

Aside from showcasing local history, the home will serve as a visitor center, community meeting space and outpost for special events.

It also could be used for recreational programming, primarily to better connect with senior citizens. Some of the ideas staff has considered for the space include coffee chats, show-and-tells, health checks and cooking classes.

“Instead of an eyesore in the town, it’s going to be the most valued treasured home in town,” Paul Fitzgerald said.

Car washes benefits charity CHARLOTTE – Autobell Car Wash’s Charity Car Wash Program helped raise $634,398 last year for charities and nonprofits in the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia.

Autobell provides nonprofits with car wash tickets custom-printed with the organization's name. Fundraisers keep half the proceeds from ticket sales.

The program has helped nonprofits raise more than $7.6 million since 1998.

“It eliminates the need for organizers to plan and execute a parking lot car wash or other large-scale fundraiser, worry about rain dates or incur any upfront cost,” Autobell CEO Chuck Howard said.

Autobell Car Wash has 72 locations, including 4416 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail; 536 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe; 1610 Providence Road S., Waxhaw; and 15020 Idlewild Road, Stallings.

GNC to cut ribbon at store WESLEY CHAPEL – The Union County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its newest member, the GNC store at The Village Commons at Wesley Chapel, with a ribbon cutting.

GNC specializes in health and wellness products, such as vitamins and herbal supplements.

The store is locally owned and operated.

GNC announced plans in February to convert 200 stores from company-owned stores to franchise-owned.

The event is slated for April 7 at 2 p.m., at 5922 Weddington Road.

Alost joins Carolina Farm Credit STATESVILLE – Josh Alost has joined Carolina Farm Credit’s Monroe branch as a loan officer.

The New Orleans native earned a bachelor’s degree in business at Northwestern University.

Old wives’ (and husbands’) tales Misconceptions in N.C. family law

There are many misconceptions regarding the laws of any state. Here are some of the most common myths related to family law in North Carolina: I want a legal separation: Legal separations are not documents in N.C. An individual is “legally separated” when one spouse moves from the marital residence and at least one spouse intends to remain separate and apart indefinitely.

I want to file for separation: Spouses may enter into a Separation Agreement to resolve all issues arising out of the parties’ separation, but that document is not “filed” anywhere.

We are separated since we live in separate rooms: In N.C., a couple is separated only when they are living in separate residences with the intent to remain separate and apart indefinitely.

I will take her/him for everything (s)he has: Sorry, but alimony is based on disposable income of the supporting spouse after accounting for their reasonable needs and expenses in keeping with the standard of living enjoyed by the parties prior to the separation. With respect to marital property, most spouses only get onehalf of the net value of the marital estate.

At 12, my child can decide where (s)he wants to live: A minor child cannot decide

with which parent (s)he will live. However, in some situations, an articulate child of suitable age and maturity may tell the judge some facts which can assist the court in making a custody determination.

(S)he’s not paying child support, so I do not have to let her/him see the child(ren): Child support and visitation are not related in this context. You cannot withhold visitation simply because you are not receiving child support. Likewise, not receiving visitation does not excuse you from paying child support.

My spouse is committing adultery, so I will get custody automatically: Being a lousy spouse does not mean that one is a lousy parent.

Adultery is not a determinative factor in a custody trial, but certain facts can make it relevant regarding the best interests of the child(ren).

UCPS wants public input for superintendent search

The Union County Board of Education is seeking public input from community members regarding what qualities they want the new superintendent to possess.

The board is seeking to find a replacement for Mary Ellis, who will retire in June, through the search firm North Carolina School Board Association (NCSBA).

BOE members are accepting candidate applications until May 17, and hope to select a new leader by August.

The district’s general counsel, Michele Morris, will serve as interim superintendent and John Jones will serve as vice interim superintendent in the meantime.

While the board waits for applications to come in, the district is hosting a short survey on its website at www.ucps.k12.nc.us/ domain/2793, prompting participants to rank the importance of various qualities and skills. A comment section also is included and will be read verbatim by members.

The survey will run until April 26 and can

only be taken once per computer, including public computers. Paper copies also are available for those who cannot complete the survey online.

Low-income community members might have complications completing the survey, but UCPS Chief Communications Officer Tahira Stalberte said she doesn’t believe there will be issues with access.

“I think with the computers and with the paper copies we’ll be covered,” said Stalberte.

Community members also potentially can complete the survey multiple times through using different devices.

BOE member Melissa Merrell asked Allison Schafer, director of policy/legal counsel for NCSBA, on March 21 about the consequences of community members answering the survey through different devices and she said she didn’t expect the action to cause an issue.

Ongoing information about the superintendent search will be posted on the UCPS website.

WAXHAW – The Waxhaw Woman’s Club will offer three $500 scholarship to female high school seniors from Marvin Ridge, Cuthbertson and Parkwood high schools through its 2016 Waxhaw Woman’s Club Scholarship Awards Program.

Applicants must be graduating female seniors with a record of community volunteerism in school and non-school sponsored activities, and plan to attend two-year community college or a four-year university.

Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college upon the receipt of enrollment for the 2016 fall semester. This receipt should also include the student ID number and financial aid office address. Guidance counselors must verify students qualify for the award.

Scholastic Anglers continues on The Scholastic Anglers Tournament Series will continue as weather warms up, as fisherman earn points before the final regular season event on May 14, a Saturday.

Multiple anglers from the community have competed in hopes of earning the top spot on the Scholastic Anglers Challenge Leader Board.

Noah Makely, of Central Academy Fishing, currently takes the top spot.

“This is an all too familiar place for him as he has been here for the past two seasons,” Brian Booth, of Scholastic Anglers, wrote in an email. “At the season's end Makley crossed the finish line in second place by the narrowest of margins. This season, Makley seems to be a student-angler on a mission.”

The Anglers will host two more workshops – on April 21 and May 19 – at Boater’s Marine, located at 1829 Williams Road in Monroe – from 7 to 8 p.m.

The Union County Education Foundation (UCEF) is accepting race registrations for its Run For U 5K, which is slated for April 9 at 8 a.m. at the Central Academy of Technology and the Arts’ grass cross-country course.

The UCEF seeks to support Union County Public Schools through college scholarship programs for students and LIFT grants for classroom teachers.

The race welcomes jogging strollers, but regular strollers are not recommended. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Awards will be presented for age groups, best dressed in blue, runners with dogs and runners with strollers.

Union Academy serves with ‘heart’

MONROE – Charter School Union Academy (UA) took a day off from learning to spend the day packing meals for children in need more than 3,000 miles away.

The entire K-12 student body came to UA’s upper school campus to participate in a day of service through Charlotte nonprofit Servants With A Heart. Throughout the day, students prepared rice packs, decorated shipping boxes, tasted rice and watched educational videos about Servants With A Heart.

Suzanne and Jeff Yoh started Servants With A Heart in 2011 to pursue a call toward service work. They began hosting packing events, in which community groups assemble packs of rice, soy, vitamin powder and vegetables that are delivered to impoverished children in Nicaragua and the local area. About 90 percent of the packs travel to Nicaragua and the other 10 percent are given to local food banks, such as Second Harvest Food Pantry, according to Suzanne Yoh. Servants With a Heart partners with Furniture Factory Outlet World to send the packs to Nicaragua to feed 80,000 to 100,000 children weekly.

Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere after Haiti, and Nicaraguan children often live in trash dumps, Yoh said.

“Poverty looks different there than it does here,� she said. “There is more of an opportunity here to find food, while there they don’t have anything to eat.�

Yoh said she enjoys packing events at schools because she can teach students about the differences between being malnourished versus undernourished, and the importance of service. “There kids learn that it makes them feel better to serve others,� she said.

UA held its first packing event with Servants With a Heart in 2014 and chose to host another packing event to help fulfill the school’s core values – character, community and challenge. UA raised money through student activity fees to orchestrate the event. “This is one of many events to show the three C’s and make it a reality,� said Kelly Brun, the school’s character counselor.

Brun said the event helps students “feel good� about giving back to others and hopes students remember that feeling when they leave UA and still desire to serve their community. She also appreciates the event for building community, as older students were partnered with younger students throughout the event. “This is another way for us to build community and come together as a family,� Brun said.

Daniel definitely wasn’t Italian

I grew up with two versions of the “four food groups.” The one taught in schools included: bread, potatoes, rice; fruits and vegetables; meat, fish, eggs; and milk and dairy.

My four food groups were different.

Being Italian, my grandmother taught us her version of the “four food groups.” They consisted of meatballs, sausage, cheese and lasagna. Notice, it included meat, cheese, and pasta.

You can imagine my dismay when a coworker challenged me to try the Daniel fast for the Christian season of Lent. It is taken from the Biblical story when Daniel refuses to eat the King’s food. The King allows him to eat his food while his subjects eat the King’s food. When it is obvious that Daniel is in better shape than the King’s people, everyone eats this healthy diet.

A year ago, I gave up artificially sweetened beverages for Lent. It was harder than I thought, because I drank a lot of it. For the first three weeks, I was like an alcoholic going through detox. I drank water and missed my sweetened beverage. After a few weeks, I no longer missed it. When Lent was over, I continued drinking water, and still do to this day.

The Daniel fast asked me to give up everything that was Italian. There was no sausage, no

meatballs and no cheese. I found myself going back to my childhood eating what my family called, “Depression Era” meals (my parents grew up in the Depression). Not wanting to deprive my wife of this “fast,” I convinced Rev. Tony Marciano her to join me.

What did we eat? Lentils and salad – more lentils than I want to admit.

By day five, I missed chicken. My wife missed cheese. We did a 10-day Daniel diet, and were proud we achieved that. We decided to do the Daniel diet Monday to Friday, and “cheat” on the weekend. I found that when I ate meat and cheese on the weekend, it wasn’t as satisfying as the anticipation of eating it.

There were other things I gave up for Lent, but they weren’t cake and cookies as I did when I was a kid.

Instead, I gave up living in the past. I stopped scratching old wounds and hurts. I don’t wonder what I could have done differently if I had the chance to do it all over again. It’s in the past and I can’t change that.

I gave up playing the victim. I realize when bad things happened to me, God didn’t say,

“Wow – didn’t see that coming.” I believe God is working all things together for my good, even when it was bad. .

I worked on being grateful. It’s hard to be negative when you are thanking God for waking you up and giving you another chance at life.

I worked on my procrastination. I took on home repair projects I’ve avoided for years.

When I tackled them, they weren’t as difficult as I was afraid they would be.

I took on smiling more. I knew that my mood – good or bad – affects the people I lead.

I learned to reconnect with one of my passion, including great music. I heard a band with brass instruments. It resonated deeply within me.

Whether we are in the church season of Lent, we should strive to become better people. Give up those destructive habits that keep us from becoming all that God would have us to be, while taking on those things that make us a better person.

I’ll be back in two weeks. Until then, live well my friend.

Marvin Ridge outlasts Providence, avenges earlier loss to Panthers

Marvin Ridge’s baseball team had 24 days to marinate after a 2-0 home loss to Providence before its rematch with the defending N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state champion.

The Mavericks, led by an epic performance on the mound by junior pitcher Jake Kuchmaner, who struck out nine batters and gave up only three hits and a walk in seven shutout innings, returned the favor with a 1-0 win over the Panthers in the Providence/South Meck Spring Break Tournament March 28.

“It feels really good to beat these guys, as good as they are, as well-coached as they are,” Kuchmaner said. “It’s good to beat them. It’s good to come back and beat them. We’re extremely resilient. We don’t get down too much. If somebody gets out we’re focused on the next at bat. We’re not going to let that dwell or effect us late in the game or later in the season either.”

Senior Stephen Polacek’s base hit in the top of the seventh brought in senior Chandler Castleberry for the game’s only run.

“I had been struggling in the box the whole game and on defense too,” Polacek said. “He threw me that pitch. Coach gave me the bunt, but I was feeling the hit, so I just swung. It felt great. I was really down on myself. I was trying to stay focused that last at bat, because I knew that was going to change the game right there.”

Castleberry, a consistent contact hitter, gave the Mavs stellar base running when they needed it most, and was equally impressive with the catches he made in the outfield.

Marvin Ridge lost to Hough, 8-0, the next day, but Kuchmaner said the win over Providence is something the Mavericks can take with them into the playoffs and gives them something to build on moving forward.

Kuchmaner gives the Mavs a chance to compete with any team when he’s on the mound. His fastball, changeup and curveball were on point versus Providence, and when those pitches are working, it makes for a lethal mix against opposing batters.

Senior catcher Kevin Dobos, a Kent State commit, did a superb job behind the plate and calling pitches. His performance, along with

Marvin Ridge’s infield and outfield play, supplemented Kuchmaner’s pitching and confidence, proving to be too much for Providence.

“As a team, we always have the pitcher’s back,” Castleberry said. “We’re always playing 100 percent behind him, playing defense, and that’s really what it was, just giving full effort. It worked out for us again. We’re lucky. It’s awesome. It’s good to get a little revenge, and good to beat a good team.”

Marvin Ridge coach Mark Mennitt said Kuchmaner is a competitor, and doesn’t struggle with nerves.

“I think when Kuchmaner’s on the mound

people feel like we don’t have to score a lot of runs,” Mennitt said. “We can score a couple for him, and we’re good.”

Junior Jason Cornatzer gives Marvin Ridge another ace to throw at opponents. However, Mennitt said the Mavs need more arms to emerge as dependable contributors. They can’t expect Kuchmaner and Cornatzer to pitch an entire game on a regular basis, because it’s near impossible to get through the Southern Carolinas – or the playoffs – with only two starting pitchers.

The Mavericks (9-3, 3-0 Southern Carolinas) jump back into league play with a three-game series against Anson, starting April 5 when the Bearcats visit for a 6 p.m. tilt.

Mennitt said the Providence game provided his team with a playoff-like atmosphere, which will help the deeper the Mavs get into their schedule and eventually into the postseason.

“This is what it takes,” Mennitt said. “I’m just proud of the way we competed. I think we were able to make an adjustment at the plate. I think we had chances to score. You play a quality team that’s going to make plays, they’re not going to beat themselves. Unfortunately, they lose a ball in the lights, and we made them pay. That’s the difference in the game.

“At the 4A level, they (Providence) are the watering the mark. Obviously, we know if we can play with them, compete with them, then anybody else we ought to be able to compete with, so the sky is the limit for this group. Hopefully we keep getting better, and I think we will.”

Mennitt believes his team has improved the last month, but said the goal is to crescendo at the tail end of the year as it prepares to make a playoff push.

Weddington soccer standout heads to Brazil for tournament

Weddington junior Olivia Odle, a Virginia Tech commit, has emerged as one of the top players in the southeast region of the United States. Her stellar play has paid major dividends, and is sending her to compete in Rio de Janeiro as a member of the Region III Girls’ Olympic Development Program (GODP) April 2 to 12.

“I am extremely excited,” Odle said. “I’m very nervous though. The teams we’re going to play are really good. Everyone down there is very good, so I’m excited for the competition and hopefully we can keep up with it.

“Ever since I’ve been going on these international trips, it’s helped me become more independent. I’ve had to abdicate for myself. Over the last few years – and especially this trip – going to other countries and having to be independent and be aware I think has helped me mature not only soccer-wise, but as a person.”

GODP will play three games in Rio, including a match with Brazil’s U20 national team Sunday, April 10. The girls also will train with Brazilian professional club, Duque de Caxias’ players and staff.

Odle is most excited about the high level of

competition, which will provide her and her teammates with a measuring stick for where they are individually and collectively as they seek to improve.

“The girls I’m on the team with, I’ve known them the past few years,” Odle said. “Being able to see them again is always a joy, and being able to play not only with them, but against other teams that are just as good if not better, it’s more than I could ask for. I’m a girl who loves to compete, so being able to do that is a dream come true. I can’t wait for that opportunity.”

The GODP team includes 18 girls from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, which speaks volumes of the significance of the caliber of talent and hard work it takes to earn a roster spot.

“It’s a year-long process,” Odle said. “This is my fourth year in the program and my third international trip.”

Initially, Odle had to make the state team, before attending a camp in Alabama. From there, she was selected to a pool of 60 players.

She advanced to an interregional camp in Boca Raton, Florida over Thanksgiving, where she made the GODP team.

It’s not connected to the United States Women’s National Team, but it provides play-

ers like Odle exposure to its coaches and college coaches. It’s been a platform for Odle to meet folks in the soccer world, giving her constructive feedback to help her as a player.

Odle and her teammates will experience Brazilian culture, and see several sights, including Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana Beach and some Brazilian steakhouses.

“I’m so excited for Christ the Redeemer,” Odle said. “I’ve always wanted to see that. We’ll be all over the place, but I’m more than happy to make the travel.”

Odle, who plays in the midfield for Weddington, will move to center back, which she will play at Virginia Tech, during her time with GODP. “It will be a different side of the game and different view of the game, but nothing I’m not familiar with,” Odle said.

She will miss five of Weddington’s games, but will be back in time to join the Warriors when they host Anson April 15. Odle is tied for the team lead in goals with six this season. She also has six assists.

Weddington is 6-0-1, and will open Southern Carolinas play when it hosts Piedmont April 5.

Autry, who dominated opponents in the paint, was a sure double-double night-in and night-out, as she averaged 16.4 ppg, 12.6 rpg and 1.2 bpg. She earned all-conference and all-district third team honors after leading Parkwood to a conference championship and third round playoff appearance.

Parkwood junior Baylee Morton, a dualsport athlete who also plays softball, gave the Rebels another talented post player. Morton averaged 12.9 ppg and 10.3 rpg, playing a key role in Parkwood’s run to a share of the Rocky River 2A regular season conference championship and the league tournament title.

She made the all-conference team.

Tanaja Stevenson Monroe Monroe junior guard Tanaja Stevenson led a scrappy Redhawks’ team to a share of the Rocky River 2A regular season conference championship. Stevenson averaged 15.5 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.7 apg and 3.3 spg on her way to becoming an all-conference selection.
