WAXED FLOORS

Maintaining a hardwood floor is easy as it just involves regular cleaning to remove dust and dirt before the finish becomes damaged or the surface wears down. On the other hand, waxed floors add a unique charm to any room or hall. And natural wax not only beautifies any floor but also gives it a delicious clean smell. However, waxed floors can experience problems such as black marks when water or shoes touch them.

PRODUCTS Although you can opt for a wide range of products that work well to clean waxed wood, there are other alternatives. For example, some everyday or household items work very well to clean waxed wood.

ALMONDS OIL If your wooden floors are losing the intensity of the waxing and you want to give them a little more shine, you can use almond oil. Keep in mind that it is a natural element safe when handling and making contact with the floor. If you use almond oil to restore the shine of a waxed floor, you can fill a spray-type container with 200 ml of warm water, three tablespoons of almond oil, and one tablespoon of baking soda. You should then mix the ingredients well and remove any dirt and dust before using the mixture. And finally, apply this natural cleaning solution and polish your floor with a microfiber cloth.

VINEGAR IS AN EXCELLENT NATURAL CLEANER

Apple cider vinegar has good properties for cleaning various types of surfaces. However, avoid using this product neat because it can be abrasive and cause stains if not applied correctly. Therefore, it is best to dilute a quarter of apple cider vinegar in 200 ml of warm water. You can also mix this solution in a spray-type container. Subsequently, remove surface dirt from the floor with a slightly damp cloth or use a vacuum cleaner with a felt attachment. After this, spray a quantity of cleaning solution on the waxed floor and buff it with a dry mop or microfiber cloth.

REMOVING WAX

If you want to remove the wax from the floor to re-wax it, you can use scented ammonia. However, it may be very abrasive, so you should use it mixed or diluted with water (three liters of warm water with a third of a cup of scented ammonia).
