Currently a senior at Georgia Southern University, I am pursuing a degree in Journalism and will graduate in May 2017. While in school I have been taking many journalism and production classes, as well as working a semesterlong internship at WTOCTV, the CBS affiliate in Savannah. I have had the opportunity to work with reporters and producers the web team and photographers to make sure that I am gaining a vast knowledge of what it takes to be a wellrounded multimedia journalist. I spent the summer in Washington DC as a Congressional Intern with The US House Of Representatives. This would only further my passion in current events and political affairs and it allowed me to fully immerse myself into the hub of it all. Through the coursework at Georgia Southern University and my internship with WTOC I am gaining real life experience that is educating me for a career in gathering, analyzing and delivering the news on various platforms. I feel confident with my camera skills and also have a knowledge of Edius and ENPS. I know that I can pitch story ideas and turn packages in a timely manner and that the quality of the reporting would be acceptable for any news station. I have experience with live shots and know how to use the LiveU app. The opportunity to work as a multimedia journalist would be a dream come true for me. The chance to work with other on air professionals, and learn the business of news, would be a stepping stone in my career and help me to begin the journey of following my dreams to become a reporter. I have dedicated my college career to pursuing a degree in journalism with the hopes of becoming a reporter. However, I believe that my academic pursuits are only half of what make me who I am. As you can see from my resume, I am an individual that thrives on and excels while performing in front of a crowd and working with others. I am described by my peers as someone who is dedicated and always willing to step out of my comfort zone to try something new. I have shown that I am always hungry to learn more and will take criticism and advice to become better each day. I am a reliable, personable, team player who is willing to work hard at any time and will always put my work first. I have cultivated my energy and ability to work for long hours into a passion for journalism and news. My creativity, passion and desire to continue to learn will set me apart from other young journalists.
