Nature is the inspiration for design this season. Shapes found in vegetation and organisms are the foundation for fashion, architecture, and lifestyle design. Designs are soothing to the body and the soul and serve to rejouvenate and refresh consumers from the stresses of society. Color trends are derived from natural objects like opal, wood, granite, and vegetation as well as organisms like insects, reptiles, mollusks, and jellyfish. Floral and fauna are present throughout the entire season and are represented through organic colors. Muted greens pair well with brown, grey, and ivory. Pink, purple, blue, and green blend impeccably to immitate a rainbow effect. Nature’s omnipresence this season demonstrates the need for ephemerality in an otherwise structured and tense society. It serves as a reminder to take solace in what the natural world has to offer.
lifestyle We will see the emergence of bright colors derived from nature in lifestyle design. Opal, mother of pearl, and rainbows all evoke the soft, ethereal feeling of this design trend. The wide range of colors balances well with an otherwise neutral palette. Don’t be afriad of untraditional parings: mix petal pink with lavender, clementine with moss, and morning blue with egg yellow. The unexpected combinations are a fresh new take on a rainbow and offer a new perspective on the colors found in nature. Playing with transparency generates endless color combinations and maintains the delicate feel.
fresh fresh Fresh ingredients, bursting with juices, nutrients, and vibrant color come to the forefront this season. Forget the leafy greens, a health conscious diet can still be colorful. The fresh mentality will carry over into all aspects of the consumer’s lifestyle: what they eat, what they put in their home, and which materials they surrounds themselves with.
architecture Architecture takes a cue from tessellations found in nature. Shapes are geometric, consistent, and voluminous. This trend is in conversation with repetitive pattern rendered in digital forms. It allows consumers return to utilize what nature has to offer.
This triangular wood tessellation is a sample from matĂŠriO, a worldwide materials company that seeks out innovative materials and catalogues them in a subscrption-only library. Members can browse the matĂŠriO library to find inspiration for their projects. The company works only with strange, bizarre, and innovative materials,

In order for architecture to progress into the future, it is important to take inspirationg from earthly details. Natural materials are the key to rediscovering what it feels like to co-exist with the natural world. Complete symbiosis means utilizing raw materials in design that are have not been altered by industrial processes. This allows the consumer to feel connected to the earth.
These materials are composed of muted shades of brown, tan, and grey. Hints of metallic sparkles and unique wood grains emphazise the organic qualities of the raw materials.

organic fashion Organic forms are also found in fashion. New sustainable materials, like pineapple leather, will replace wasteful and harmful processes. Dusty greens and yellows pair well together with ivory as a base. Pastel pinks, purples, and blues represent sunset hues in the desert and complement the muted greens of cacti.
Delicate laser cut shapes simulate fine threads of silk, spiderwebs, and moth wings. The materials are tissue thin and layer well over solid browns and whites to allow the shapes to pop against the strong background. The lacey patterns also stand out against bare skin to emphazie the color and the shape of the body.
