our story Good food and gracious entertaining were always major ingredients in Caroline Ragsdale Reutter’s life. Born in Charleston and raised in Lake City, South Carolina, Caroline learned the enjoyment that food brings into everyone’s lives from an early age at her mother’s cocktail parties, family barbeques and church gatherings. In 1982, Caroline served her first 7-Layer Caramel cake at her son Richard’s christening and it wasn’t long before family and friends soon began asking for more. Word of Caroline’s Cakes quickly spread and within a few short years she had a customer base across the country.

icing on the cake In our bakery, the season seems to come to life at the first mention of our festive flavors, and everyone’s excitement is palpable as the aromas of pumpkin spice and sweet potato usher in another joyful season of celebrations. Everything at Caroline’s Cakes is made with love, and made for sharing, and we can’t help but take a moment and share some immense gratitude as well, as we get to be a part of your own traditions and gatherings year after year.
