Originally a bicycle manufacturer and arguably bestknown as a maker of fine racing motorcycles, Edoardo Bianchi built his first automobile in the early 1900s. A wide variety of models was manufactured over the next 30 years, though by 1940 the firm was concentrating on motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Car manufacture resumed in 1957 under FIAT auspices, Autobianchi’s debut model being the Bianchina, based on FIAT’s new 500. Positioned up-market from the FIAT, the Bianchina debuted as the Transformable coupé, with full-length folding sunroof, and showed clear signs of

American influence. In 1960 the newly introduced and more powerful FIAT 500D engine became standard equipment on the Bianchina range, which was augmented by two new models: a Cabriolet and the Panoramica estate car that used the FIAT Giardiniera’s space-saving horizontally-opposed engine. A fourth version, the Quattroposti saloon, arrived the following year. Sold new in Italy, this charming left-hand drive miniature estate car was restored in Italy approximately five years ago. The car remains in superb order and the restoration was clearly carried out by a skilled expert who knows these little cars well. Finished in lime green with black and white interior, this car will require UK registration by the next owner. First registered on 4th January 1968, the car comes with a Certificato Di Proprieta stating that the car was registered in Rome. One can see it now blasting past the Colosseum at breakneck speed!

The odometer reading of 30,212 is believed to be genuine but cannot be guaranteed. Values of these great little cars have continued to rise and with todays estimate “313 KPJ” should not be ignored.

“313 KPJ” is an Isetta 300 built in the UK and registered on the 16th June 1959. It is presented today in exceptionally fine condition.

This Italian-designed Isetta microcar was built under licence in a number of different countries, including; Spain, Belgium, France, Brazil, Germany and the United Kingdom. Produced in the post-World War II years, a time when cheap short-distance transportation was most needed, it became one of the most successful and influential city cars ever created. Because of its egg shape and bubble-like windows, it became known as a ‘bubble car’, a name later given to other similar vehicles.

Finished in Brooklands Green with contrasting parchment hide interior with green piping this car is a lesson in just how attractive these later generation Bentley cars were when new. We are informed by the vendor that the doors hang just as they did when the car rolled off the production line. Body panels are straight and dent free, while the superb paintwork shows no signs of corrosion and has a deep mirror like finish throughout. The V8 engine is reported to fire up immediately and soon settles down to an even idle. Putting the gear selector into drive, the take up is immediate but free of snatching. Once on the move, up changes are smooth and quick and it’s the same when the auto boxes drops down the cogs. Steering is light but has a good feel to make it easy to negotiate the narrowest streets, w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

while the ride is supple and soaks up the bumps easily, although a big car cornering is reported to be ‘first class’. This Bentley is totally standard and just as it left the factory meaning this is a properly sorted example. The vendor informs us that there are no ominous noises emanating from the engine, gearbox or back axle, a sign that this car has been looked after all of its life. Open the door and you’ll be amazed by the condition of this Bentleys interior, this is a real gentleman’s interior with lashings of leather and wood that shouts quality. The wood is in beautiful condition, as are the seat faces and door cards. The carpet is also in very fine order, all switches and gauges are reported to work perfectly. With only 48000 warranted miles from new, this cars service history also offers confidence. It has main dealer service history for around two thirds of its life, while more recently it was cared for by an independent Bentley/Rolls Royce specialist in Lancashire, we are informed that £4000 has recently been spent on an annual service, new suspension spheres and brake system overhaul and new Avon Tyres all round. This is a proper old school luxury saloon car and is a great example offering a huge amount of car for Ford Mondeo money, perfect for impressing the neighbours or a day of self-indulgence at Ascot.

This Motorbike is completely hand-made and features a modified 1959 Triumph H Series Frame with custom built rear sub frame. Expertly built by renowned specialists D&C Classic Motorcycles in Yorkshire, it even retains a1957 Triumph Speed Twin engine with verification from the Triumph Owner’s Club. Additional features include 12” ground clearance, trick forks and every single component has been customised for an unbeatable riding experience. A full breakdown of parts will be supplied at the auction and can be emailed to perspective bidders. As D&C state themselves: “These machines are without question the best that money can buy. Hand-built in our own work shop using only the best materials and components available, being a very competitive machine for pre 65 / vintage or classic events. Also ideal for green laneing, Classic shows or simply as a recession proof investment.” We could not agree more. These bikes retail for more than £9,000. The current vendor has used this example sparingly and it is on the button and ready to be enjoyed.

The Ducati Monster is a motorcycle designed by Miguel Angel Galluzzi and produced by Ducati in Italy since 1993. It is a ‘naked’ bike, characterised by an exposed engine and frame. The deliberate use of the trellis frame in the Ducati monster is an integral part of the motorcycle’s design allowing for both aesthetic appeal and for structural efficiency. In 2005 Monster sales accounted for over half of Ducati’s worldwide sales. Ducati motorcycles use almost exclusively 90° V-twin engines, which they call L-twins, with desmodromic valves and tubular steel trellis frame, features designed by Fabio Taglioni. The Monster line has had numerous variations over the years, from the entry level 400cc bike up to top of the line 130hp multivalve, water-cooled superbike-engined versions, with as many as nine different Monster versions in a single model year. In November 2005, a new top of the range model was announced: The S4R S Testastretta similar to the bike offered here from 2008. This new model uses the engine from the 999 Superbike with Öhlins suspension front and rear and radial front brakes. Boasting 130hp delivered through a capable 6-speed gearbox, the whole package weighs no more than 177kgs and delivers performance ahead of rival machines from BMW or Triumph.

Currently on a Singaporean registration, bidders should please note that there is import duty to be paid on the overall price of this machine at the UK rate of 20% if it remains in the EU.

Introduced in 1953 as the ‘fend’, after its co-designer Fritz Fend, the KR175 Kabinenroller (scooter with cabin) was soon been marketed under the more famous Messerschmitt name. The narrow body and corresponding low frontal area was achieved with tandem seating and handlebar controls which also allowed the body to taper like an aircraft fuselage. Powered by a two stroke 148cc Fichtel & Sachs engine that produced a modest 9bhp, the fuel consumption was reported to be 87mpg with a top speed of 55mph. In 1955 an improved KR200 was introduced with a larger 191cc engine, revised bodywork, an improved turning circle and floor mounted accelerator and clutch. The tandem seating allowed centralised weight distribution irrespective of occupants, avoiding the flawed logic of the Isetta’s lop sided engine arrangement, and providing w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

the little tricycle with handling characteristics that outclassed its contemporaries. Four forward and four reverse gears made for rapid progress in either direction with a top speed of 62 mph, if you were brave enough. Available in the UK from 1955 onwards production ceased in 1964 after some 30,000 KR200s had been made. Interest in ‘bubble cars’ has been on the rise for some time, of which many view the tandem seat Messerschmitt’s as the cream of the crop. This delightful KR200 was first registered in 1957, finished in Red with contrasting Red seating with White piping, fitted with a very rare fibre glass dome top and has a speedometer reading of 29442 miles. We are informed by the vendor that this particular model has recently been imported from South Africa, where it formed part of a private collection for many years and as such will require some sympathetic recommissioning. This delightful microcar which appears to be in highly original condition and unmolested is being offered with a V5C, road tax and paperwork showing all import duties have been paid. According to records there are only 158 of these little cars on the road in the UK, this is a unique opportunity to buy into a very exclusive club.

When Porsche discontinued the 993 variant in 1998 it marked the end of the air-cooled engine. It is now regarded by many as finest 911 ever produced. It had significant changes over the previous model giving it improved handling and ride characteristics to enhance the free revving 3.6 litre engine. For these reasons its now becoming the Porsche to have for enthusiasts and collectors alike. The Targa version was introduced for the 1996 model line up and featured a glass roof that retracted to slide underneath the rear window. It also came complete with distinctive 17inch two piece alloy wheels.

Lot 309 >> 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 Roadster

Introduced in May 1961 the Jaguar E-type was a sensation with great looks and performance unrivalled at the price. Often heralded as the most beautiful car of all time Jaguar, not surprisingly, made no significant changes till the introduction of the 4.2 engine in October 1964. Additionally they incorporated an all syncromesh gearbox, increased legroom and better torque from the new capacity engine. This resulted in the best E-type and now Grand Tourer to match the best being produced by Jaguars rivals. The E-type still continued to hammer the opposition on pricing.

The Series 1.5 is also the best driving E-type in our opinion.

BOC 973A was the subject of a total restoration in 2009 by MC Incar Specialist of Peterborough, the attention to detail that went into this restoration is truly incredible, all corroded metal work was cut away and replaced, new panels were fitted where possible and then undersealed and wax oiled. The shiny bits have been re chromed or replaced and the restorer has taken many pictures of the fresh metal and paint preparation. These tiny engines love to be revved and it pulls like an eager puppy all the way through the gears. However, this car is not about speed it’s about charisma and style and this car has it in abundance. A brand new interior was fitted, the front and back seats are in perfect shape and the car benefits from the the fitting of seatbelts both front and rear. BOC 973A looks small and cute from the outside and with the fitting of its suicide doors and fold back full roof this little car takes Italian coolness to a whole new level. The length and expense the previous owner has gone to in making this car as good as this shine through. Among the extensive photos and A4 binder report of the rebuild is a detailed breakdown of just what has gone into bringing this car back to the condition it is in today and conformation of a build cost of a cool £15,700.00. We are informed there is even a letter from the Fiat Historical Archive in Turin confirming that 110D-523264 was built at the Factory in Italy in 1963. Sold with a new MOT, the wealth of parts that have gone into the rebuild of this stunning little car must surely offer peace of mind, it is enormous fun to drive and in beautiful condition throughout and guaranteed to grab more attention than any car from Modena could ever hope to achieve. Lot 311 >> 1966 Sunbeam Tiger Mk 1

The West Coast Sales Manager of Rootes American Motors Inc., Ian Garrad, realised that the Sunbeam Alpine’s image was that of a touring car rather than a sports car and he set about changing its image using the Shelby Cobra as a guide. Sunbeam asked Carroll Shelby to produce one functional prototype. Shelby’s prototype was fabricated by Shelby employee George Boskoff and sent to England for evaluation. The Tiger was born. After doing extensive engineering studies, Rootes Group subcontracted development and production to Jensen, located in West Bromwich. Production of the Tiger reached 7,085 cars. The Shelby prototype has survived, along with a number of other historically significant Tigers including Lister Le Mans racers.

2011 marked the 50th birthday of the iconic E-Type, which was well celebrated at our 2011 sale at the Silverstone Classic. This was when the largest gathering of E-Types in the world took to the circuit. From 1961, the E-Type evolved and improved in its lifecycle from the original Series 1 Coupés and Roadsters, through the Series 2 cars of the late 1960’s, until finally, the Series 3 arrived - only in 5.3 V12 format in late 1971. Available only as a convertible or a ‘2+2’, there were only 7,990 convertibles produced worldwide of the Series 3. Chassis number 1S1515 was manufacured in 1971 and was formally owned by major Hollywood star Gerard Butler, protagonist of the international blockbuster ‘300’. Mr Butler owned his E-Type for a number of years and is quoted as saying: “I went to the classic car place in Chelsea to look at something else, walked in there, w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

and there was an old E-Type Jaguar convertible, the V12 one.... I literally took one look at it, and thought, oh, my, god.” Finished in the stunning colour combination of black with black interior, this E-Type was subject to significant work in 1993, which included a full engine overhaul and complete respray. The current owner has carried out a number of recent improvements. It has just been fully serviced and the interior beautifully re-trimmed in black leather. The car now presents extremely well, with sound shut lines and a lovely shine to the black paintwork. The hood is in ‘as new’ condition and the engine bay looks in very good order. The manual gearbox shifts cleanly and the power steering appears to operates without fault. This V12 roadster comes with a fresh MoT and extensive paperwork detailing all works carried out. This is a superb opportunity to acquire a beautiful example of Jaguar’s most refined E-Type with impressive Hollywood provenance.

Lot 313 >> 1995 BMW 850 CSi

The 850 CSi makes no exception in having several names. In this case, the term M8 is mentioned and is correct. The 850CSi is a real M-car. It does not only have an M-bred engine (type S70) but has been manufactured by BMW M as well, according to the VIN which starts with WBS (BMW Motorsport) instead of WBA (BMW AG). The BMW 850CSi is a detuned version of the M8, which was never produced and remained a prototype only. However, the CSi became the production derivative and was subsequently built in very limited numbers.

It is supplied with all original handbooks, service books, tool kit and two sets of keys. There is a large history file with BMW main dealers to 65,000 miles, then specialists thereafter. The current mileage is 122,000 miles. Owned by the vendor for the past 8 years, this 850 CSi has formed part of a significant private collection and has been used, maintained correctly and enjoyed. Beginning with the R-Type Continental in 1954, the S Series Continental chassis would go on to carry no fewer than eleven variations of four-door sporting saloon between 1957 and 1965, all bearing the revered ‘Continental’ title and being born from coach-builders as celebrated as Park Ward, Franay, Graber and Farina, with top-billing being reserved for the unimpeachable H.J. Mulliner of Chiswick, West London. The ‘Flying Spur’ as commonly recognised shares the Continental label but depicts the luxurious four-door saloon vehicles still manufactured today. The car offered for sale here is the first variant of its type registered new on 7th December 1957 to Mr Angus MacKinnon Esq. Chairman of a private bank, Brown, Shipley & Co. It was bought as a present for his wife, Resident at Hunton Manor, Hampshire, Mrs M MacKinnon who kept the six-light sports saloon until w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

28th October 1960 when it passed hands to Berkley Square Garages Ltd, Berkley Square, London W1. Here the original registration number was transferred from “KLL 125” to its present registration number of “609 HYP”. It then passed ownership to Adams & Adams Ltd of New Maldon, Surrey on 20th March 1962. The subsequent owner, Mr Khan Esq. of NMT Trading, purchased the Flying Spur on 17th January 1964 keeping the vehicle until 3rd December 1983 when title eventually passed to Dr Peter Mattewman. Dr Mattewman commissioned a degree of restorative works to the car during his ownership including a bare metal respray and replacement beige West of England headlining. Furthermore, the vehicle’s chromework was re-plated, a restored period radio was installed, both carburettors were rebuilt and new coil and HT leads were fitted very recently before Dr Mattewman sold the vehicle in summer of 2013 after a thirty year ownership. This most impressive motorcar is painted in Seychelles Blue metallic with a mid-blue hide. It sports an automatic transmission with power steering, however, interestingly BC14DJ left the factory with a manual synchromesh gearbox making it a believed one of only four examples in the S1 Continental Flying Spur range fitted with this option. In fact, BC14DJ Is only one of Nineteen “D” Series Flying Spur’s in a total of only 167 RHD Examples built to Design number 7443. This rare coach-built car is an all-important numbers matching vehicle with all factory chassis build-sheets. It is taxed and MoT’d as you would expect and drives very well indeed. The engine is reported to be silky smooth and the transmission is said to shift with ease, a new stainless steel exhaust has only just been fitted, it is shod with correct 820x15 cross-ply tyres it looks fantastic and would make a welcome addition to any serious vehicle collection. First introduced to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963, the Porsche 911 has now been in production for over fifty years. From its original production car base the 911 has become one of the most successful competition cars of all time, both as a circuit racer and rally car. As early as 1965 the ‘Works’ entered a 911 SWB in the Monte Carlo Rally, within two years Vic Elford was winning rounds in the European Championship. This very rare left-hand drive 2.0 S is a desirable SWB A-series European model from 1968. The current owner has treasured this example for a number of years. Works included all fluids changed and the exhaust replaced with a stainless steel unit. A full condition w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

report will be available at the auction to perspective bidders. The engine in the vehicle is not the original but is an extremely rare 1965 2.0 litre unit that was completely stripped and re-built by T.M.W Engineering in Stalham. The cylinder heads were gas flowed and the crankshaft and bearings rebuilt. A larger diameter bore was specified with new pistons and barrels incorporated. New timing chains were fitted and the carburettors were also rebuilt. This work was carried out approximately 7 years ago and at considerable cost to the owner. The bodywork is described as very presentable, with good shut lines and no obvious signs of rust. The interior is in very original condition with the addition of later 911 seats. The originals are included in the sale but are not currently fitted. The car is up and running, sounding very raspy, and has a fresh MoT. The general condition would be best described as useable with lovely patina. The next owner could simply use this pretty little 911 ‘as-is’ or paint the car to a very high standard and have a true concours contender. 911 S and SWB prices are certainly on the march and show no signs of slowing down.

Lot 317

2013 Evanta Aston Martin DBR1 Registration: XEZ 909 Chassis Number: Evanta2013DBR1018 Estimate (£): 60,000 - 65,000

Renowned Jaguar engine specialists VSE supplied and built the car’s 3.8 Jaguar powerplant fitted with triple Weber carburettors and mated to a Getrag 5-speed gearbox. Having coved just 200 miles since completion the engine isn’t even fully run in yet.

Today, no-one truly knows the value of the true DBR1 or DBR2 race cars, though in 2012 DBR1/2 Reg XSK 497 was reputedly sold for £20million giving a valuable insight to the desirability and importance of these near priceless machines. This near identical evocation was based upon the aforementioned ‘XSK 497’ Aston Martin that won Le Mans in 1959. The current owner was fortunate enough to visit the car after explaining that he wanted to build a replica car in tribute. Upon visiting he took hundreds upon hundreds of photographs, from which the Evanta Motor Company went about recreating the car.

Inside the cockpit the car is almost indistinguishable from the original cars even down to the hand painted crackle finish dashboard, which we are told took dozens of attempts until a satisfactory finish was achieved. The seats were also made in the material and design of the original cars whilst the correct dials and steering wheel were fitted to retain authenticity. The attention to detail on this car is incredible, every image taken of the original car was studied in depth and even blank screws where added to the bodywork to insure the car is as correct as possible to the original.

Our vendor was also fortunate in meeting the owner of one of the four original Aston Martin cars left. He helped with the research for the car and gave our vendor all 15 different pantones to make up the absolute correct Aston Martin Racing Green for the body and the correct almost “duck egg” colour for the frame. The debut of the new Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible in January 2000 marked the first step into the new century for Rolls-Royce. The drophead coupé’s unique identity was accentuated by a swage line from the top of the front wing to the bottom of the rear wing. The body was set onto the platform as used by the Bentley Azure, hence a wheelbase of 3.061 mm. The interior offered a degree of comfort and luxury that had become a hallmark of the marque. As regards the power train under the bonnet, there was no 5,379cc BMW V12 engine, but the new Rolls-Royce Corniche was powered by the well-proven 6.75 litre V8-engine whose Chrysler origins dated back to the 1950s. Having always been kept up-to-date by most careful development, the unit was considered to be perfectly adequate - not least because it had been vastly

A main advantage of this engine was its enormous torque, providing 738Nm at 2,100rpm ~ it almost dwarfed the BMW V12 engine’s figure of 490NM at 3,900rpm! Silverstone Auctions are proud to be able to offer this Rolls Royce Corniche chassis number 001 from the second owner of the car. More recently in March 2014 the car was invited to and competed in the 72nd Members’ Meeting at Goodwood, qualifying 7th on the competitive grid. It comes complete with FIA HTP papers and is welcome in all current UK and European series offered by the HSCC, Masters and U2TC. The car has never had an accident or a racing incident. To access a Neil Brown Engineering built engine (whose regular customers are Honda for BTCC/WTCC and Audi for the DTM!) would be very difficult (and expensive), but to have an engine hand assembled by him personally - pretty much impossible! Yet that is exactly what is offered here, perhaps the ultimate FIA legal twin cam?! Offered for sale because of a genuine change of plan, (Nick has recently found his old BMW M3 Group A Touring car), this car could now be serious value for money and is built to a very high specification. Not much required to make it an absolute front running FIA car (apart from a quicker driver!), it is ‘on the button’ and complete with FIA HTP papers and it’s unique yellow stripe!

n the early seventies, Porsche were in a “rich vein” of competition success. It`s not surprising that the 2.4 litre 911 variants of that time are considered a reflection of that engineering prowess. Race input had resulted in revised suspension pick-up points and Koni dampers enhancing the 911 ‘S’. Power from the 2.4 fuel injected unit had now reached 190bhp, giving a wonderful free revving engine - resulting in 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 144mph. The 915 5-speed gearbox completed the package.

Steve McQueen helped to immortalise the 911 ‘S’ in a “reflective moment” at the Sarthe in the film “Le Mans”. “BJH 133L” is a matching numbers, original right hand drive UK 2.4S registered 23rd March 1973 and was purchased by our vendor 30 years ago. The odometer shows 35,000 miles and documents substantiate it to be a warranted 135,000. From 1999-2010 this stunning 911 was subjected to a full nut and bolt restoration and bare metal re-spray in its original colour Hellgelb by Moto Technique in Sussex. The black leatherette Recaro’s were recovered and the salt and pepper carpets replaced. The engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt by BS Motorsport in Wescott Buckinghamshire and since then has covered a mere 1,500 miles. Supplied with a detail history containing, invoices and photographic evidence of the restoration, the original books and spare keys, “BJH 133L” presents exceptionally well. A true investment that should not be ignored at todays guide price.

Lot 325 >> 1973 Jaguar E-type Series III V12 Roadster

2011 marked the 50th birthday of the iconic E-Type, which was well celebrated at our 2011 sale at the Silverstone Classic. This was when the largest gathering of E-Types in the world took to the circuit. From 1961, the E-Type evolved and improved in its lifecycle from the original Series 1 Coupés and Roadsters, through the Series 2 cars of the late 1960s until finally the Series 3 arrived - only in 5.3 V12 format in late 1971. Available only as a convertible or a ‘2+2’, there were only 7,990 convertibles produced worldwide of the Series 3.

The Zukunft tag is arguably most fitting for the Z1 out of all the Z cars, a car that even now, 22 years after it first went on sale, looks fresh and modern. The Z1 used a skeletal frame to which the body panels were mounted, it made the Z1’s body incredibly stiff, banishing scuttle shake and giving the car superb handling. The cars body panels were made from plastic, which was mounted on a sub structure of hot dipped galvanised pressed steel. The seams were continuously zinc welded, adding 25 per cent to body stiffness. The side panels and doors were made from General Electric’s Xenoy injectioncast thermoplastic, the bonnet and boot lid were glass reinforced plastic and the whole body was painted in a special flexible lacquer.

suspension set up at the rear and also featured some clever aerodynamics, the front of the car was designed to create a high pressure zone ahead of the wheels to induce down force while the aerofoil shaped rear silencer helped to decrease turbulence and lift. The engine is one of BMWs finest in the form of the M20B25 unit taken from the E30 325i. The Z1 is special in every sense of the word, its special to look at, to sit in and drive and importantly as years have passed people have clearly started to appreciate it as prices have soared. This is a marvellous little car with almost universal appeal and is without doubt one of BMW’s finest moments. Silverstone Auctions are proud to offer BMW Z1 chassis number 06057; incredibly this car has only covered 197 kilometers from new and is unregistered. We are informed by the vendor that this car was originally sold to a customer in Sweden back in 1990 and formed part of a private collection until it was imported into the UK in 2013. To say this is a unique car is somewhat of an injustice, you could be forgiven for thinking this car had just rolled off the production such is its originality and breath taking condition. Cars like this rarely come to market and as such we expect huge interest in this incredible Z1 globally.

With its distinctive shape and totally individual character the 911 has appealed to driving enthusiasts since its introduction in 1963. Production of these cars ran from 1989 up until 1993 and the introduction of the 993. During this period some 3,692 were imported into the United Kingdom.

It is reported that the car fires at the first turn of the key and settles to a smooth idle, with all gauges showing nominal readings, inspiring confidence at all times. The brakes are effective and bite when prompted, and all suspension bushes and springs offer no squeaks or rattles and give reassurance that this car has lived a cosseted existence. This factory-built Daytona Coupé is one of only a handful of continuation Superformance cars that are officially approved and licensed by Shelby American Inc. The body was designed by Pete Brock and the chassis by the late Bob Negstad, both of whom built the original 6 Shelby cars that ran so infamously at Daytona, Le Mans and across the world. With a 55R/45F weight distribution and a thunderous 6.6 litre Roush engine, this car boasts 515 BHP, a 6-speed Tremac gearbox and a top speed of 207 miles per hour. As discovered by Nick Hall of PistonHeads: “While it may look like the classic Coupé on the outside, the similarity really is just skin deep. This is a modern supercar with power figures that compare to the likes of the Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo, but costs a fraction of the price and has ready-made heritage.”

Chassis number 0005 has covered a mere 8,900 miles from new and is finished in dark green with full black leather interior. The Windsor block fires on the button and rumbles with a purposeful exhaust note. Once on the road, 100 mph comes up in a staggering 8.6 seconds. The power is simply immense and concentration is certainly required to modulate the throttle. The steering is light and the brakes reassuring.

Evidently, this car offers retro styling, supercar performance and modern creature comforts such as air conditioning. Superformace Daytona Coupés come on to the market very infrequently and new cars are well north of £80,000. The Porsche 930 Turbo was a genuine ‘Supercar’ that defined the Seventies and Eighties. It was one of the fastest production cars available at the time. It was first seen at the 1973 Paris Auto Show and full production commenced two years later. The basic engine underpinnings came from the Carrera 2.7RS which was increased to 3.0 Litres and, of course, turbocharged with technology gained from Porsche’s 917/30 Can-Am programme. This 1989 930 Turbo is a hugely desirable G50 5-Speed UK model and is finished in Guards Red with tan interior. First registered on 13th March 1990, the odometer is reading only 24,800 miles. The mileage is supported by past MoT certificates dating back to 1997, along with the early service stamps in the maintenance folder. It was purchased by the last registered keeper in 1999 at 9,800 miles and in 2008 was acquired by the current vendor w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

with just over 24,000 miles on the clock. Stored in a temperature controlled environment and forming part of a large private collection, this Turbo has seen little use in recent years but remains in stunning condition. The paintwork is bright and in keeping with such a low mileage example. The inner wings and boot area look highly original with a light wax finish. Similarly, the seats and interior are in superb condition and show very little signs of use on the driver’s bolster and carpets. The car will have all fluids changed prior to the auction and will be sold with a fresh MoT certificate. There is a large folder of past bills and receipts detailing expenditure and general upkeep. Complete with 2 sets of keys, a tool kit, an original fitted car cover and leather wallet, this 930 Turbo is a true icon of its era. Inspections are more than welcome and potential bidders should feel free to contact the office for further information. Draped on the bedroom walls of badly dressed 1970s/1980s children and currently the ‘must-have’ for a new generation of collectors, the future investment potential of this car cannot be underestimated.

‘At last - a comfortable Mini’, was Motor magazine’s take on the Mini Clubman at its introduction in 1969. The Saloon version of the newcomer had been penned by ex-Ford stylist Roy Haynes as a replacement for the Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet, while the related Estate car was intended to succeed the established Countryman and Traveller. However, a change of plan saw both round and square nosed Minis produced concurrently, until the Clubman range gave way to the Metro in 1980. This lovely little Mini Clubman is described by the vendor as completely original and has covered a mere 26700 miles from new. Sold new in 1977 by Swan Motors, Birmingham, it has had only one previous recorded keeper. The May Sale

Estimate (£): 8,000 - 10,000

Built in 1955, this ex-Leicestershire & Rutland Fire Service Dennis served all it’s operational life at Loughborough and Hinckley. After being sold out of service in the late 1960’s to a coach works at Coston near Melton Mowbray, she stood untouched until 1984 where she was found and purchased for preservation. Over the next two years, extensive work was carried out to fully restore and recommission the appliance. This work included a total body refurbishment, strip and paint, new roof covering and a full rebuild and overhaul of the fire escape. The engine was also overhauled. Powered by a huge Rolls Royce 6.5L straight-eight petrol engine of the B80 series, it has overhead inlet valves but unusually side exhaust valves. She returns a lowly 5-8mpg at her maximum 40 MPH and is a joy to hear! She carries 100 gallons of water and has the Dennis No.2 centrifugal pump fitted which delivers 450/500 gallons

per minute from the two deliveries. The pump and escape are all still fully operational. The ladder fitted is a John Morris (AJAX) wheeled escape which extends to 50 feet and weighs approximately 3/4 of a ton. The coach work of the appliance is by Dennis Bros of Guildford and is in the original colours of maroon and red and was unique to the Leicestershire & Rutland brigade. LNR900 can be driven on an ordinary car license and costs approximately £120 a year to insure. The lack of power steering and four-speed crash gearbox combine to make this a challenging but rewarding ‘old fashioned’ drive. She is MoT exempt. She comes complete with current V5 and a full compliment of original accessories including ladders, hoses, search lights, brass nozzles, filters, axes, torches, saws, breathing apparatus, crank handle, blue lights, bells and sirens... All still operational! Believed to be one of only four such surviving engines, this is an important, historic and characterful vehicle, ‘Eleanor’ is ready to show- or use as the most headturning of private vehicles. Further, her museum-quality and completeness is such that she is in demand for period TV and film work. Approaching her 60th birthday, she really is a diamond amongst vintage vehicles and is offered with a modest estimate which hopefully will ring someone’s bell... SilverstoneAuc tions

Mercardo of London W2 with his private registration number ‘670F’. It was and still is finished in Primrose Yellow with black leather upholstery and a black hood with factory wire wheels. More interestingly it arrived at the doors of Henry Pearman’s wonderful company, Eagle E-Types, in 2002 where Henry started to look at the series II as a sales proposition for the first time. (Up to this point Eagle had specialised purely in refining and developing the series I) w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

Initial development work included designing and fitting a new type of seat with greater lateral and lumbar support, fitting a new developmental type of power steering to improve driver response and upgrades to both the suspension and brakes. Wider wire wheels with more modern and lower profile Pirelli tyres were also fitted to further improve the handling and ride compromise. It also benefitted from a light restoration which included a repaint, some rechroming and the fitting of a new hood. Before too much more work was done the car was unsurprisingly sold and kept by it’s new keeper until 2009 when it was purchased by Silverstone Auctions owner, Nick Whale. Enjoyed and driven by him it was then sold on in 2010 to our vendor, who has maintained the car properly with a service and MOT every year, although covering very little mileage. He fitted new ‘Gaz’ shock absorbers all round in 2011 on the advice of his local service specialist, E-Type UK, and the car has covered just 2000 miles in his 4 year ownership. The body was stripped of the old faded paint, taken back to bare metal and painted the original Bianco Polo Park once again. The suspension was rebuilt, along with the braking system and fuel system. The engine was also completely stripped and rebuilt with new pistons and new main/big end bearings. The gearbox and differential were also rebuilt and the carburettors reconditioned by a specialist. A vast number of hours were spent getting the car back to as-new condition and there are invoices for parts used in the history file. Once completed, the Dino was driven by Richard Heseltine for the April 2011 edition of Classic Cars Magazine. “Once able to stretch it beyond first gear, all outside considerations of the weather, the car’s value and just about everything else evaporate. This is truly, really, heavenly.” A full mechanical report and bills for very recent work, including an engine rebuild, will be made available by marque specialist Gary Tait. Alfa Romeo was one of the first manufacturers to put a powerful engine in a lightweight car for mainstream production. The Junior was equipped with an alloy twin overhead camshaft four-cylinder engine, similar to that of the earlier Giulietta models range. When first released the offered engine capacities were 1290cc, along with various configurations of carburettors and tuning produced power outputs from about 80 to about 110bhp. Almost all Juniors made had a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1300 Junior was noted for their lively performance among sedans of that era, especially considering the modest engine size and that their performance was better than many sports cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

This very pretty left-hand drive 1970 Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior was imported from sunny Italy in 2003 and has been kept within the same family since importation. The car has had a top end re-build, alfa holics handling kit, including dampers and features an aluminium inlet manifold, recent clutch, and exhaust. Finished in Alfa Red with black leather, there is a fully operational period Motorola radio fitted, which gives the interior a lovely authentic feel. A large history file documents receipts and bills for all recent work. Most the jobs have been carried out by Italian classic car specialists Classicarco. When totalled up, the bills and receipts over the last eleven years come to over ÂŁ20,000. The vendor reports that this 1300 Junior has recently returned from a 200 mile continuous journey and drives beautifully. Complete with MoT test certificate until March 2015, this Alfa offers incredible looks for a most reasonable outlay. When compared to the legendary GTAs, which share very similar looks, this car is great value and will be supplied with a full condition report from Terry Keys Motorsport prior to the sale.

We can honestly say that this car boasts one of the most interesting and complete history files we have seen in a long time, and piecing together the past of this car with much correspondence between previous owners has been a delight. This is a very good and rare SS Alfa Romeo that is a pleasurable and rewarding drivers’ car given its light controls and competition derived handling. Very few classics have this ability to tour so effortlessly, efficiently and in such style!

Some years later, the car was then acquired by our vendor in Northamptonshire, and 12 years into his ownership, it was again restored, this time receiving a complete bare-metal respray and general cosmetic

The May Sale

This 1967 car is believed to be one of just 14 original righthand drive cars ever made with the exotic Bertone styling. It is accompanied by a duplicate Buff Log Book picking up from around 1971 in Blackpool with what we understand to be its second owner. It then passed through two private hands in the Chester area before appearing again in August 1974 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then again in 1979 now in Chicago, Illinois. By 1989, the car was once again offered for sale. Sadly, it was being offered in a sorry state described as having a pranged left front wing and a damaged nose. The advertisement continued that it would not be a difficult repair for a qualified restorer and so Ian James of Surrey purchased the car and repatriated it back to the UK whereupon a thorough restoration was conducted, costing in excess of £30,000 with many invoices to prove.

The 356 model is acknowledged as Porsche’s first production car and was a lightweight and nimblehandling rear-engine rear-wheel-drive 2-door sports car available in hardtop coupé and open configurations. Design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and popularity. Porsche re-engineered and refined the car with a focus on performance. By the late ‘50s many fewer parts were shared between Volkswagen and Porsche and increasing success with its racing and road cars brought Porsche orders for over 10,000 units in 1964. Today, the Porsche 356 is a highly regarded collectors car with the Super 90 amongst the most desirable 356 models partially due to the models much enjoyed success in rallying: the 24 hours of Le Mans, the 1000 km Buenos Aires, the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio, the Carrera Panamericana, as well as many other important motorsport events. w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

The car offered here is a solid and presentable dry-State American vehicle in lefthand drive specification which would make for a competent weekend driver being as it is, mechanically sound. It could or would however benefit from some light restoration which remains an economically sound objective given the realistic guide price at this auction. As a drivers’ car the 1600 Super 90 with the 90bhp engine is a fine performer offering enough punch when needed but without sacrificing any of that kerb appeal. NOVA have been notified of this vehicles arrival in the UK and all EU taxes have been paid meaning this car, currently unregistered, is free to travel anywhere in the world with its new owner. There are only a handful of classic cars which both Mr & Mrs Collector both equally approve and the Porsche 356 is firmly one of these. Of all the well-heeled collector’s whom we deal with, I have heard of none returning from auction with a 356 to the immortal words “you’re not bloomin’ keeping it...” As would be expected of a car of such perpetual refinement, the Porsche 356 Super 90 is widely considered the ultimate iteration of Porsche’s first production sports car and this example is no exception.

Without doubt, Jaguar’s brilliant XK120 forever changed the motoring world as one of the most influential sports car designs of all time, with performance that remains impressive even by today’s standards. The XK Jaguar was given the body type number of 120, to represent its top speed. This actually proved to be an understatement when factory test driver Ron Sutton was clocked in a prototype on a Belgian road at over 132 mph! Race versions of the XK120 proved potent in the hands of drivers like Stirling Moss and Phil Hill, who both recorded important victories in 1949. The superb twincam, six-cylinder engine was to become a mainstay of all future Jaguar products, and it provided five Le Mans 24 Hour victories between 1951 and 1957.

The Lotus Carlton was a Vauxhall Carlton upgraded by Lotus Cars to be a 177mph sports-saloon with acceleration to equal contemporary supercars. When released, it was the fastest 4-door saloon car in the world. Be under no doubt, these cars are phenomenal machines, they were so way ahead of their time that they are widely regarded as the reason that ‘hot’ saloons such as the BMW M5 exist today! This increasingly rare righthand drive Lotus Carlton has been with its current custodian, one of only five from new, since 2006 and in this period has covered fewer than 12,000 miles bringing the total warranted mileage to fewer than 75,000 from new. Cosmetically, the car is in exemplary order. Silverstone Auctions were proud to sell a similar car, albeit with just 14,000 miles in November 2013 for more than £32,000. However, if these two cars were stood side-by-side you’d w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

be hard pushed to identify which was which. The owner has maintained the car fastidiously. The presence of a handful of unavoidable stone-chips were too much to bear for this owner who in 2010 commissioned a fully-documented complete repaint of the car in correct Pearlescent Imperial Green at a cost of nearly £8,000. The result of this high-standard repaint is still more than evident today. Sold in standard condition with no unnecessary upgrades or amendments from original specification, you will find the interior in an honest condition, fair to the car’s age and mileage, but not in the least bit scruffy. The rear seats look as if they’ve never been sat in. The cars original registration of ‘L53 XLL’ obviously accompanies the car, as do two enormous box files of history, magazines where the car was featured, several plaques used for display purposes at shows, and a bespoke-tailored breathable car cover with Lotus insignia. Not to be missed - and not for the faint-hearted! - this is one of just 320 Lotus Carlton’s in righthand drive configuration and one with many more years of motoring ahead of it. The engine has benefited from a complete rebuild last year and has subsequently only competed in one race at SPA. The engine rebuild allowed for all bearings, seals and upgraded pistons with new larger valves fitted, and sprint cam shafts. Oil pressure runs at 80 psi plus. Also fitted to the car are stainless steel exhausts, a new front mounted FIA fuel cell, light weight radiator, new in-date fire extinguisher, new seat and FIA approved seat belts and harness, a new pedal box and F355 disc brakes. The full FIA roll cage gives comparable structure integrity to a hard top car. The Porsche 911 was introduced in 1963 to great acclaim and has become one of the worlds most enduring sportscar designs. The original 2.0 litre format made it expensive, but Porsche used the outgoing 1600cc unit from the 356 to address the issue and offered the 912 to an eager market. The result was a car that had all the looks of the 911 but with inspiring handling, better balance and competitively priced. Launched in 1965 it outsold the 911 especially in the USA. This exceptional example was first registered 22/12/1965, in the USA. The car was then imported in to the UK and registered in July 2009.

The interior of the car benefitted from a full interior retrim, from Lakewell, along with new replica sports front seats from Rennsport, and new Coco mats. The engine preparation has been undertaken by Strasse Porsche in Leeds.

The car currently has an original rebuilt 912 engine dated 1967, which we are told runs very well. However the original matching numbers is engine supplied in the sale but will require rebuild work before it can be fitted back where it belongs. Also presented with the car is an excellent history file including invoices from well-known Porsche specialists for the work undertaken on the car. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a short wheelbase 912, that has benefitted from an extensive restoration. With the prices of 911’s continuing to rise and 912’s following the trend, this is a great chance to obtain early 911 styling at an affordable level...

The May Sale

Featured within the book “The First 40 Years” and present at a celebratory event at Harewood House in 1990, our vendor - himself a well-known motorsport supporter and long-time Porsche ambassador - acquired the car in 2002 with then just 27,000miles.

86

This car is 26-years old and has covered 114,000 miles equalling around just 4,400miles per year. The paintwork is original as is the underseal and interior. We would confidently recommend this car and confirm it to be in all-round pleasing order. This impressive car is accompanied by UK V5C Registration Document, many (if not all) previous MoT’s and service book corroborating the regular maintenance that this car has received. There are a host of sundry bills also accompanying the car and it is of course accompanied with the private registration ‘FAB 911X’.

This car is completely original and as supplied except for the radio which was updated with a modern unit in about the year 2000. It retains its four-speed gearbox and looks resplendent in Silver coachwork with deep burgundy interior believed to make it one of just two ordered in this colour specification. Approximately 16,000miles ago at circa 98,000miles the engine underwent a complete rebuild by respected specialist, Peter Tognola Engineering of Datchet to rectify a small oil leak and secure the future performance of this car. As a drivers’ car these 930 Turbo’s are unbeatable and still deliver Supercar performance for family saloon outlay. w w w.sil ve r s to n eau c t i o ns.com

Lot 354 >> 1958 Porsche 356A 1600 Reutters Coupé

Porsche introduced the 356A at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1955, thoroughly updating their 356 line-up of coupes, cabriolets and speedsters. Major changes were the 1600 cc engine, curved screen and revised suspension. Ruetter remained the coachbuilder. From the outside the 356A was only slightly different, wider tyres, a rubber strip below the doors and the curved screen marked the changes. The interior received a flat-face dashboard, locking glove box and a radio. Other appointments included headlight flasher, automatic interior lighting and self cancelling indicators. This beautiful 1958 LHD matching numbers example was a dry state Californian car imported into the UK in 2010 and formed the basis of a 4 year nut and bolt documented restoration.

Reassembly began once the body was finished and painted in its stunning Lido green colour. Parts fitted to the car were either restored to as new condition or replaced with genuine Porsche 356A parts. At this time SilverstoneAuc tions

the original engine was also completely dismantled and rebuilt again using genuine Porsche parts. Inside the car was also subject to a comprehensive restoration with the interior reupholstered and the fitment of sporty and elegant Speedster style seats. New tailored carpet was also fitted along with new headlining in the vehicle. Recently completed just a matter of weeks before the auction, a full detailed picture folder of the restoration, including invoices, is presented along with the car. The Fiat 500 was produced by Fiat S.p.A (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino) between 1957 and 1975, limited production of the Fiat 500 K estate continued until 1977. The car was designed by Dante Giacosa, and despite its diminutive size, the ‘500’ proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe. It captured the hearts and minds of the public until production ended in 1975.

Middle Barton Garage, the UK’s leading Fiat Abarth specialists, have thoroughly inspected this example and are available to discuss the car with any prospective bidders. Is has been thoroughly serviced by Middle Barton Garage including work to the steering, transmission, engine, brakes and electrics. New safety belts and front indicators/sidelights have been fitted to comply with UK MoT requirements. The test certificate is valid until March 2015. This little Fiat 500 is described by Middle Barton as in excellent condition and drives accordingly. The correct Belgian documentation accompanies the car to facilitate new registration for its next owner. Silverstone Auctions have had significant success with 500s of late and this example is one of the finest we have seen.

This left-hand drive car was recently imported from Belgium. The bodywork and trim have been restored approximately five years ago to a high standard. Finished in one of the best colour combinations of black with red leather interior, this charming little car would make an ideal city or town run-around.

Lot 356 >> 1989 Maserati Karif

While the Karif does hark back to great days, it is still in keeping with the new philosophy, this car does not compete with any Ferrari model, even though it will be priced closely to the GTB. It is a car that can be used every day, and can be driven in a city with ease; you cannot say that about any Ferrari. Of course the car looks quite normal, it’s international. “An enormous amount of effort and time has gone into the Karif developing the engine, which is quite different, developing the suspension, into developing the final drive, there’s been a long wait but we wanted something unique”, said Alessandro de Tomaso, at the launch in April 1988 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was launched at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show and was the first Ford to wear the ‘Cosworth’ badge. Only 5545 were built in order to homologate the car for Group A Touring car racing and were based on the 3 door Sierra bodyshell but fitted with a 2.0 litre turbo engine of now legendary repute. It featured a double overhead camshaft, 16 valve engine with a Garret T3 turbo and intercooler, giving a reliable 204bhp which produced a 150 mph top speed and a 0-60 time of just 6.8 seconds!

It has an original stamped service book and is professionally fitted with a immobiliser alarm system. The car features a sun-roof with no leaks, original recaro seats that have been tastefully re-bolstered, original stereo and amplifier system. It also has a file full of receipts and services for works carried out. The bodywork and paintwork is described by the vendor as: “immaculate, with 5 original wheels that are in good condition. It drives and runs lovely, and is still a very rapid car even by today’s standards.” The electrics are reported to work perfectly. This Sierra Cosworth is highly collectable today and the 3-door is now being recognised as a real future classic, with many experts predicting long term growth in value - similar to the limited edition fast Fords of previous generations.

This UK supplied right-hand drive car is reading a mere 61,000 miles and is backed up with MoT certificates dating back to 1993. Lot 360 >>1985 Porsche 3.2 Carrera Targa

There are very few cars that can boast a history anything like that of the Porsche 911. This was the gem of a sports car that simply blew everything away back in 1964. Since then, the 911 has evolved over the years to become one of the world’s true motoring legends. Without doubt, part of the appeal of this iconic model is that its soul has always remained true to the original design. Porsche started to manufacture the ‘Targa’ top 911 from the mid-sixties and kept it in production in various forms right up to the current Porsche 997 Targa. Up until 1993 its original design and popularity had always revolved around the fact that you simply turn two clips, lift the top off, fold it up into about 2/3rds of the original size and store it in the boot and you have a ‘sunny day’ 911.

The mileage is verified both in the service booklet and with old MoT certificates, dating back to the early 1990s. The Mini Cooper has been a mainstay of the Motorsport scene around the world for over fifty years. From enthralling battles with much larger counterparts in period, to later day giant killing performances in historic touring cars. The Mini Cooper represented an opportunity to compete at high levels for privateers with cars not far removed from the works entrants, enhanced by a plethora of emerging tuning companies and race/rally parts. Offered here is the one of the most competitive FIA Historic Minis available in Europe. As with all successful historic racers the job of preparation is simplified by sourcing the best example to work with. Originally built in 2009 by Pyro Motorsport for Andy Hack and race partner Darren Turner, this genuine Cooper S was discovered in South Africa and became the basis for this ultra competitive Mini. By the late 1950s, America was well in the grip of rocket age fantasies and the newspapers were full of the latest moves in the Space Race as Uncle Sam battled with the Soviet Union for supremacy in interplanetary exploration. No surprise then that when Ford launched its new topof-the-range model in 1959, it was called the Galaxie. Of truly vast proportions, it abandoned the ostentatious fins and flourishes of the early 1950s for a more sober, sleek and scientific look. Available as either a sedan or a convertible in two-door and four-door form, it came with a range of engines from a 3.7-litre straight-six to a humongous 7-litre V8. The second generation was introduced in 1960 and by 1964 the interior trim was much altered. The exterior featured a more sculpted look which was actually

96

designed to make the car more aerodynamic for NASCAR. A slanted-roof design or convertible model replaced the formal-roof “boxtop” style. The 1964 models gained an enviable reputation as durable, comfortable cars that offered decent handling and road-ability at a reasonable price, so it is no wonder they sold so well. This 1964, Galaxie 500 Convertible is one of the highly desirable optioned cars with the potent 6.4-litre (390ci) V8 and is abundant with technically advanced features for its time such as; a power-operated hood, power brakes, power steering and a radio cassette. Our vendor has been custodian of this car for around the past seven years since falling in love and purchasing it whilst on holiday in Wildwood, New Jersey. Attracted by its lovely and largely original condition plus on the understanding that it had been treated to a full engine and gearbox rebuild just 6,500 miles previously, along with a new hood. Since entering the UK in 2008 it has only done roughly 2,000 miles and in July 2013 it attended the Rally of the Giants at Blenheim Palace where it won the coveted ‘Best 1960s Car’ award with an impressive trophy to commemorate the win. The Landrover was designed with brilliant simplicity for extraordinary ability and unrivalled strength and durability. In fact, six decades on, it is estimated that two-thirds of all these incredible vehicles are still at work - many of them in some of the most extreme conditions and inhospitable places on earth. The original 1948 Land Rover was ingeniously designed and engineered for extreme capability and strength. With robust construction and characteristics such as short front and rear overhangs, it drove off the production line ready to take on some of the world’s toughest terrain. It was the product of continuous evolution and refinement throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s with improved stability and a tighter turning circle and was a period in which Land Rover took the lead in the emerging market for four-wheel drive vehicles.

In June 1970, the Range Rover was introduced to the public, to much critical acclaim. It appeared that Rover had succeeded in their goal of a car equally capable both on and off road - arguably, better than any fourwheel drive vehicle of its era in both environments. With a top speed of 95mph and acceleration from a standstill to 60mph in less than 15 seconds, performance was stated as being better than many family saloon cars of its era. Off-road performance was good, owing to its long suspension travel and high ground clearance. Originally, the Range Rover was fitted with a detuned 135hp version of the Buick-derived Rover V8 engine as fitted to the model offered here today. The 3,528cc engine was increased to a displacement of 3,947cc for the 1990 model year, and 4,197cc in 1992. The car offered here today is a petrol Range Rover in remarkably sound condition. The interior appears in remarkably good condition for its age. Finished in green with sand interior, featuring automatic transmission, the car has had a total of 4 registered keepers and requires full restoration. Offered at No Reserve, these classic Range Rovers are ageing very gracefully.

2. Agent SAL sells as agent for the Seller (except where SAL is selling as principal, which SAL will disclose in the Catalogue or otherwise in the Auction). The Contract for the sale of a Lot is between the Seller and the Buyer. SAL shall not be liable for any act or default by the Seller (except where selling as principal) or the Buyer. 3. SAL may, however, deduct any sums that are due to it from the sum held. 4. Loss or injury SAL shall be under no liability for any injury, damage or loss sustained by any person while on SAL’s premises (including any premises where a sale may be conducted or where a Lot, or part of a Lot, may be on view from time to time) except for death or personal injury, damage or loss caused by the negligence of or other breach of duty by SAL, its employees or agents in the ordinary course of their duties to SAL. 5. Lots 5.1 The Catalogue contains details about each Lot. The description printed in the Catalogue is given on behalf of the Seller, and may contain SAL’s opinion about the Lot, but in any event is not a contractual representation or warranty by SAL. 5.2 Photographs, Illustrations and diagrams contained in the Catalogue are for identification purposes only. 5.3 Lots are available for inspection prior to the Sale and it is for any potential bidder to satisfy themselves as to each and every aspect of a Lot, including its authorship, condition, provenance, history, background, authenticity, style, period, age, suitability, quality, roadworthiness (if relevant), origin, value and estimated selling price (including the Hammer Price). 5.4 Each Lot is sold by its respective Seller to the Buyer. Lots are sold to the Buyer on an “as is” basis, with all faults and imperfections. 5.5 The actual condition of a Lot may not be as good as that appears by its outward appearance. In particular, parts may have replaced or renewed and Lots may not be authentic or of satisfactory quality; the inside of a Lot may not be visible and may not be original or may be damaged, as for example where it is covered by upholstery or material. Given the age of many Lots they may have been damaged and/or repaired and you should not assume that a Lot is in good condition. 5.6 Any person who physically interferes with, scratches or damages the Lot in any way (at, before or after the Auction) will be held liable for the loss so caused. 5.7 The Seller is responsible for delivering the Lot in a presentable and saleable condition. 6.5 SAL has no duty to the Seller or the Buyer to investigate the accuracy of the description of any Lot provided by or on behalf of the Seller.

6. Alterations and Estimates 6.1 Estimates and descriptions may be amended at SAL’s discretion from time to time by notice given orally or in writing before or during an Auction. 6.2 The Lot is available for inspection and any potential bidder must form their own opinion in relation to it. You are strongly advised to examine any Lot or have it examined by a specialist or engineer on your behalf before the Auction. 6.3 SAL gives no warranty or representation as to the anticipated or likely selling price of any Lot. Any estimate given, whether written or oral and whether or not printed in any Catalogue, as to the estimated selling price of any Lot is a statement of opinion only and may be subject to revision from time to time at SAL’s sole discretion and should not be relied upon as an indication of the actual selling price. 6.4 SAL shall not be liable to the Seller for any error or misstatement in or omission from the description of any lot in any Catalogue where SAL has: 6.4.1 been provided with such description by the Seller or any person on his behalf; or 6.4.2 provided the Seller with a copy of such description prior to publication of the Catalogue and neither the Seller nor any person on his behalf has notified SAL in writing within 7 days of any error or misstatement in or omission from the description.

9. Bidding and Reserves 9.1 Admission to the Auction requires the purchase of a Catalogue which must be presented at the entrance to the Auction. SAL do not accept bids from any person who has not completed and submitted a registration form. All Lots will be sold without Reserve unless a Reserve has been agreed by SAL in writing. 9.4 Where a Reserve has been agreed, only SAL at its absolute discretion may bid on behalf of the Seller. 9.5 If no Reserve has been placed on a Lot, SAL shall in no way be held liable should the Lot be purchased for a price below any lowest estimated selling price of the Lot given in any Catalogue.

7. Warranty by the Seller 7.1 The Seller warrants to the Buyer and to SAL that: 7.1.1 the Seller is the owner of the Lot or is properly authorised to sell the Lot by the owner, and is able to sell the Lot with full title guarantee free from all encumbrances and third party claims and in particular that there is no outstanding finance affecting the Lot; 7.1.2 The description of the Lot in the Catalogue is to the best of the Seller’s knowledge accurate and not misleading. The Seller has notified (or will before the Auction notify) SAL in writing of any material alterations to the Lot of which the Seller is aware and of any concerns expressed by third parties in relation to the authenticity, provenance, origin, age, condition or quality of the Lot and has provided SAL with all such information in the Seller’s possession or control. 7.1.3 If the Lot is a road going Motor Vehicle, it may lawfully be used on the public road and complies with all statutory provisions and that there is in force a test certificate required by law in relation to such use; OR ALTERNATIVELY the Seller has notified SAL in writing that the Motor Vehicle may not lawfully be used on the public road. 7.1.4 The Seller shall compensate SAL and the Buyer in full for all losses, expenses and other costs which are caused by the Seller’s breach of any obligation of the Seller under the Terms. 8. Vehicle Registration Numbers 8.1 If the Seller wishes to sell the Motor Vehicle but to retain the right to the registration number of the Motor Vehicle it is the Seller’s Responsibility to notify SAL in writing. 8.2 It shall be the Seller’s responsibility to take all necessary steps to ensure that the current vehicle registration number is retained and that a new number is allocated prior to the Motor Vehicle being sold at the Auction.

9.6 SAL may sell a Lot below the Reserve agreed with the Seller, provided that SAL accounts to the Seller for the same Sale Proceeds as the Seller would have received had the Lot been sold at that Reserve. 10. Commission and Expenses 10.1 SAL shall be entitled to deduct from the Hammer Price and retain an amount equal to 5% of the Hammer Price for vehicles and 10% for automobilia and lifestyle goods or such other sum agreed by SAL in writing (“Seller’s Commission”) plus VAT together with Expenses and any other sums due from the Seller to SAL. 10.2 The Seller acknowledges SAL’s right to retain the Buyer’s Premium payable by the Buyer. 11. Insurance 11.1 Only on payment of the Purchase Price in cleared funds shall title in the Lot pass from the Seller to the Buyer. However, the risk in the Lot passes to the Buyer on the fall of the hammer. It is therefore, the responsibility of the Seller to insure the Lot before the hammer falls and the responsibility of the Buyer to insure the Lot after the hammer falls. 11.2 SAL will not be responsible for any damage to or the loss or destruction of a Lot unless caused by the negligence of or other breach of duty by SAL, its employees or agents in the ordinary course of their duties to SAL and the Seller shall compensate SAL in full in respect of all other claims and proceedings brought against SAL in respect of any loss or damage to or destruction of the Lot. 11.3 SAL will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage caused by any Lot or by the Seller’s negligence of SAL, its employees or agents in the ordinary course of their duties to SAL. The Seller shall compensate SAL in full in respect of all claims and proceedings brought against SAL in respect of injury, loss or damage caused by any Lot or by the Seller’s negligence or breach of any obligation under the Terms.

The estimated value shall be the mid value estimated in the Catalogue. 14. Removal and Storage 14.1 The Seller shall arrange for the removal of any unsold Lot by 2pm the day following the Auction or by such other time as agreed by SAL. 14.2 Failure to remove any unsold Lot pursuant to clause 14.1 above will entitle SAL to charge the Seller a removal charge, storage fees, insurance and other expenses and any costs incurred at the following rates: Motor Vehicle: Removal - £195 plus VAT Storage - £15 per day plus VAT Automobilia: Removal – £25 plus VAT Storage – £10 per day plus VAT 15. The Buyer 15.1 The Buyer shall be the highest bidder at the Hammer Price.
