Established in 1914, Portland Golf Club is regarded as one of the most prestigious, challenging, and enjoyable member-owned golf clubs in the Pacific Northwest.
OUR LEGACY
Portland Golf Club began in the winter of 1913 when a group of nine businessmen assembled to form a new club. The present site was chosen due to its relation to the SP&S railroad’s interurban line that supplied frequent passenger service to the site, as automobiles and roads were scarce in those days. Members turned laborers and spent many a weary day burning brush, grubbing stumps, leveling fairways and forming greens. The first nine holes opened for play on May 30, 1914.
Today the course retains the integrity and flavor of its rich heritage. As the oldest member-owned golf club in Washington County, Portland Golf Club provides a center for social and leisure activities for its members, their families and friends. PGC’s membership is comprised of business, civic, athletic and social leaders who value the ability to congregate in this very unique setting. In order to maintain a tradition of excellence and to ensure alignment with its member-owners, PGC’s Board of Directors and a number of specialized member committees guide the activities, governance, finances and capital investments of the club.

At Portland Golf Club, we believe it’s not just a game, it’s a game for a lifetime. The Junior Golf Program is open to Members’ children and grandchildren age 6 years and above. Our goal is to have our junior golfers grow to love the game of golf and invest themselves in learning and enjoying the game.

GREENS BEYOND COMPARE Combining magnificent design with extreme speed, PGC’s greens are highly regarded throughout the golfing community. The complexity of the greens rewards players that emphasize their short game, while providing a great variety of shots to all. To walk the fairways of Portland Golf Club is a treat in and of itself. Its wide array of natural wonders, including water features, tree-lined fairways, manicured greens, and floral configurations, are a bonus to the golfer.

SOCIAL Our focus at Portland Golf Club is on the entire family, and we have a wide variety of popular social options for all ages and interests. For most of our members, Portland Golf Club becomes an extension of their home and an integral part of their lifestyle. And we like it that way.
DINING Matching the majesty of our golf course is a tall order, but it’s one that our executive chef relishes. Award-wining cuisine is served in our fireside dining room and wine room, and it is complemented with a perfect bottle of wine from our extensive wine cellar.
Literally the centerpiece of our course and private golf community is our 38,000 square foot clubhouse overlooking the 1st and 10th tees. Inside, members and guests can enjoy a renowned dining experience in the fireside dining room and wine room. The recent addition of our covered and open decks provide a new way to appreciate our stunning property while enjoying your meal. The card rooms and bar areas also provide additional places to meet and mingle. The friendly and knowledgeable staff in the locker rooms and pro shop caters to our members’ every need.

SWIMMING A step away from the clubhouse is our heated outdoor swimming pool. With spacious decks and patio, the pool offers a comfortable surrounding for our members and guests to enjoy. Here members can take a leisurely swim, participate in our lesson program, or join guests, children, and grandchildren to relax in the warm sun. The Splash is conveniently located near the pool offering snacks and beverages.
