C H RI S YAT E S I N T E RV I E W – PA RT I I “I still look upon living water with a child’s vision; the deep pools of a river or the shadowy depths of a lake continue to excite my imagination and I remain fascinated and intoxicated by the thought of what might be down there.”

Chris Yates, The Deepening Pool.

In the second part of the interview, Tim and Chris talk more on Redmire, A Passion For Angling and also delve a little deeper into the lesser-known side of Chris’ life away from fishing Tim Paisley

A

t the end of Part One Chris was talking about the experience of being involved in the making of the A Passion for Angling TV series. We return to the subject early in Part Two and then explore Chris’ public-spiritedness, and his other great interests in life, soccer and writing. Significantly the interview touches on the conflict between achievement, and leading a normal life, when Chris talks about his regrets at having been involved in filming Passion during a period when two of his children were born. Most carp anglers have wrestled with finding a balance between normality and the need to fish, but in Chris’ case the years of filming took the absences from home to an undesirable level.

Through the Lens PART I I

Oli Davies As our photography mini-series enters phase two, the author should require little introduction. Having initially cut his teeth working for an angling publication and then later undertaking various projects on behalf of Nash Tackle, he is probably singularly more responsible for the boom in angling photography during the digital era than any other person

A 45-minute long exposure which captures the Northern Lights from Norfolk. If you look closely at the black area, you will see some quite obvious coloured noise as a result of such a long shutter speed
