Overview

The European Industry Park is destined to become the contemporary benchmark for innovative industrial and residential park design within China. The centrally located residential and commercial axis will have a perfect position on the main provincial road. This canal will collect all the rainwater from all the roofs, pavement and roads. The materials of the roofs and other exposed materials must be limited to those materials which will not pollute the rainwater with heavy metals, etc. Along this canal reeds will start to clean the collected rain water trough a natural process of the helophyte filters. The major cleaning process will take place at the east part of the park where a concentrated field with small canals and reeds. The circulation will be guaranteed by two pumps where the local water meets the regional water. These waters should not be mixed and therefore the local water will be pumped under the regional canal. Solar and/or wind energy can provide the needed energy.

KuiperCompagnons, with it’s staff of 150, is one of the large consulting firms in planning, architecture and landscaping in the Netherlands. It has produced a great deal of spectacular and highly praised urban planning and architectural work in the Netherlands and has won numerous national and international competitions.
Developers GEO Investments BV The European Industry Park has substantial backing. It is being developed by GEO Industry Park Co, Ltd. The Municipality of Dongtai holds ten per cent of the shares, with the other 90 per cent being held by GEO Investments BV, the Netherlands. The ten per cent holding by the city authority will guarantee stability, not least in terms of reducing any political risks.
