TOBE REPORT
COLOR STORY S/S 16
“Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways. -Oscar Wilde
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Each season, fashion forecasters have to apply their knowledge of trends and forecasting to predict what the top four color trends will be. These four color stories are the platforms for what colors will be shown on the runway. In this report, we will discuss the four main color trends for Spring/Summer 2016-2017. The first trend, PERSO, is about getting lost in Rome, Italy. Specifically stumbling across the Porto Fluviale, which has several saturated and bright colors. There is a building that has several faces painted on it that are all very infused with the bright hues. The second, TRANQUILITY, is about the inspiration that comes from rocks, and it has a strong sense of a mystical yet peaceful mood. The third, SUBTLE SEASIDE, is all about the beachy vibes. From the lifeguard stands to the sheds, all in soft pastel colors. The fourth, ETHNIC CENTRAL, is about a cultural feel, with jeweled tones, focusing on places such as India. As you read this, it will help you to better understand the color breakdown as well as what you can expect to see from Spring/Summer 2016/2017. Enjoy! Carrie Sullivan
