Furthering from the ethos of a self sustainable island city, within these new cities a new form of ‘aerated’ urban block is formed. As the recent pandemic has shown architecture must adapt to this new climate. the way forward is to introduce modular units that can be inserted within the framework of the new block, everything within the island cities are functional. It can be adapted and replaced with the inclusion of collective living by integration.

By introducing these types of modules within the aerated block, there is hope for the creation of a sustainable, green and healthy city for future generations to live in within a post covid era. to design a genuinely sustainable architecture within the urban fabric for the long term, it needs to have the inherent ability to adapt and change, which will secure its longevity for the future.
