Naturtex breathes and gets inspired by the Mediterranean coast, which we have come to define as “Mediterranean interior.” Everything that Naturtex creates is conceived and started in Crevillente, a city located in Alicante region. Our location near the mountains and the Mediterranean sea defines our way of thinking and acting, which we describe as the “Mediterranean way”: a creative, spontaneous and cooperative way of being. Y es que todo lo que hace Naturtex se gesta en Crevillente, una localidad situada en la provincia de Alicante. Cerca de la montaña y a pocos kilómetros del Mediterráneo, algo que define nuestra manera de pensar y hacer “a la mediterránea”: una manera de ser creativa, espontánea y propositiva.

Most of them are even autochthonous to our area and can be found in the local landscape. Natural shades and colours (earth, ecru, etc.) have always been characteristic to this Mediterranean personality and they will always be there in both Naturtex products and collections.

Esta inspiración mediterránea se palpa a través de la sencillez y calidez de las texturas empleadas,

de los productos y el origen natural de algunas de nuestras materias. Porque aunque se emplean una gran variedad de materias, algunas de ellas siempre han sido un sello de identidad: la rafia, el sisal, la fibra de papel y el algodón. Algunas de ellas autóctonas como es el caso del sisal, muy presente en el paisaje de la zona. El colorido y las tonalidades naturales (tierra, crudos, etc.) son también un rasgo característico de esta personalidad mediterránea y que siempre están presentes en los productos y colecciones de Naturtex.

Naturtex is located in Crevillente and it’s not by chance, as this area is closely linked to a great tradition in textile and shoe industry.

El que Naturtex se sitúe en Crevillente, un territorio estrechamente vinculado y de gran tradición en la industria textil y del calzado, no es casual.

And the truth is that although Naturtex is rather a young company, as its first steps are dated in the late 90’s, it hides behind itself a huge experience. Naturtex emerges from a way already walked by Artesa, a family business started in the late 50s with the manufacturing of the typical sisal basket.

Y es que, aunque Naturtex es una empresa joven, ya que sus comienzos se sitúan a finales de los 90, esconde tras de sí una enorme experiencia y recorrido. Naturtex surge de un camino ya emprendido por Artesa, empresa familiar cuyo comienzo se remonta a finales de los años 50 con la fabricación de los tradicionales cestos de sisal.

This textile heritage (the knowledge of materials, their related processes, the weaving looms…) is the main value and identity characteristic of the brand. This evolution is a reflex of the entrepreneur spirit of a family business. And this curious and restless attitude has been transmitted through generations and it’s a fundamental part of today’s Naturtex character.

Esta herencia textil (el conocimiento de las materias, sus procesos, sus telares…) es el principal valor y rasgo de identidad de la marca. Esta evolución es reflejo del espíritu emprendedor de un negocio familiar. Y es que esa actitud inquieta, se ha ido contagiando de una generación a otra y forma parte fundamental de la personalidad y de quién es hoy Naturtex.

Tradition, know-how and the appreciation for “things properly done” are inherited aspects which are highlighted in any product created or any project started by Naturtex.

Why don’t we try…? What if we mixed…? This search is one of the premises which is always in mind at Naturtex. Our team is always thinking about new materials or new ways of using them in order to develop new fabrics, rugs, etc. and we are continuosly searching for an unusual mix which could surprise and resolve new applications.

La tradición, el saber-hacer y el aprecio ‘por las cosas bien hechas’ son rasgos heredados y que se respiran en cada producto creado y proyecto emprendido por Naturtex.

Our products are the fruit of a creative conciliation between tradition and innovation, and they come up while experimenting with manufacturing processes, raw materials… To this we add a high level of knowledge and expertise in the decoration and fashion worlds.

This is the starting point: exper menting with different materials or even sometimes with some which are not common to textile, such as stainless steel, which we have woven adapting and reconverting our traditional manufacturing processes.

Experimentación ¿Y por qué no intentamos…? ¿Y por qué no probamos…? Estas son las premisas que en Naturtex siempre están presentes. En el equipo se piensa constantemente con qué nuevas materias o de qué forma poder utilizarlas para crear nuevos tejidos, alfombras, etc. o cómo hacer una mezcla inusual que sorprenda y resuelva nuevos usos. Este es el punto de partida: experimentar con distintos materiales. A veces, incluso con aquellos que no son propios del textil, como por ejemplo el acero, que se trabaja como si lo fuera, adaptando y reconvirtiendo nuestros procesos tradicionales de fabricación.

La clave es una verdadera vocación por colaborar y crear proyectos en común, ya que en el equipo somos conscientes de que esta forma de trabajo enriquece los productos y proyectos resultantes. In collaboration with architects and interior designer, we conceive and develop a fabric, a rug or a textile covering which fully suits the project. It is what we call Custom Fit Service.

— Barcelona is a herringbone braided rug which displays a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, through the combination of a classic and timeless design. In some of his colors was developed with materials and finish that are inn vative and unusual in a rug, such as polyurethane laminate a striking pearlescent finish (metal colors). — Barcelona es una alfombra trenzada en espiga que muestra un equilibrio perfecto entre tradición y modernidad, a través de la combinación de un diseño clásico y atemporal. Alguno de sus colores se ha desarrollado con materias y un acabado que resultan innovadores e inusuales en una alfombra, como es el poliuretano con un sorprendente acabado laminado de efecto perlado (colores metalizados).

Calm and elegance at the Rhone riverside” this is how Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group defines this luxurious hotel, thanks to its amazing location. Most of the sights of the rooms are facing the Rhone river and from some of them you can even make out Montblanc mountain. Besides, it has the best Indian cuisine restaurant of the city: Rasoi by Vineet, which was awarded with a Michelin star. The interior project responsibles were looking for a natural look fabric suitable to cover the lobby and corridor wall panels. For that purpose Naturtex advised and developed a Custom Fit fabric, embossed in a matte finish leather design which met perfectly customer’s requirements: sobriety, elegance and distinction.

"Our customer was looking for fabrics with a great ethnic character, inspiring themselves in raffias and other natural materials and weaves, which at the same time had to be resistant enough for their use as upholstery in public areas. We offered our capacities and knowledge about raw materials and fabrics' developments. We had to give them options that would fit in the “jungle ethnic look” they were looking for, without loosing comfort and contract suitability, by adding materials such as polyurethane and chenille thanks to which we achieve a wonderful abrasion performance”. “El cliente nos pedía un tejido de aspecto étnico y natural como la rafia, pero lo suficientemente resistente para ser usado como tapicería de una zona común y por tanto, de uso frecuente. Custom fit project “Our customer desire was to reproduce high detailed images over a mesh fabric, and they did not want to use a typical print. We proposed them an original solution: to make it to a certain relief degree thanks to the flock technique (velvet texture). We guided Rockwell through the development and production of the pieces, provided our knowledge in this textile technique. Colours of the meshes and flock designs were also custom made in order to adapt to their decorative concept and negative versions of the designs were produced, so that they could also be seen from outside the restaurant. This has been one of the most complex textile projects we have ever done, due to the big amount of factors that we had to analyse and the processes that needed to be followed. However it has also been one of the most satisfactory ones, not only for the excellent results, but also because it reflects all the added value and the know-how that Naturtex puts at customers’ service”.

The St. Regis Doha is a luxury resort in Qatar and a top culinary destination in Qatar, as it houses 10 restaurants, two of which were designed by Rockwell Group Europe. This restaurant has been modelled after an elegant, sprawling English manor and it reinterprets classical elements with a modern twist. Guests enter through a gazebo enclosed with retro-illuminated printed screen fabrics, made by Naturtex, depicting a British contemporary landscape to arrive at the Bar Lounge, located in an indoor conservatory.

St. Regis Doha es un resort de lujo y un destino culinario por excelencia en Qatar, ya que cuenta con diez restaurantes en su interior, dos de ellos diseñador por Rockwell Group Europe. El restaurante está diseñado como una elegante y opulenta mansión inglesa, y reinterpreta elementos clásicos con un giro moderno. Los clientes acceden a él a través de una glorieta enmarcada con paneles retroiluminados en mallas textiles impresas realizadas por Naturtex que evocan escenas típicas británicas, para llegar al bar lounge, situado en una terraza interior.

This luxurious hotel is located on a construction built in the beginning of the XXth century and was designed by architects Paul Friesse and Cassien Bernard. The interior design studio Triade chose Aspen rugs to decorate the rooms of this hotel enhancing it with an elegant, sophisticated and contemporaneous style.

Custom fit project “The challenge of this project was to produce huge area rugs (some even reached sizes of 600 x 700 cm.) which could reproduce traditional and modern Arabic designs and even a top view of a dune landscape. Another request from the customer was to combine materials which would create contrasted effects. For this purpose, Naturtex used matt New Zealand wool and silky gloss Tencel fiber, achieving Rockwell’s expectations.”

“Winka Dubbeldam wanted to give a special glamour to public areas, by introducing a glossy and metallic touch in vertical elements, such as curtains or rolling blinds. That way she could leave matt walls for a constrast effect. Naturtex advised the customer about the different materials possibilities, so that the they could choose from very flexible and soft materials to be used as curtains, such as lurex to more stiff materials to be used as rolling blinds, which was the case of our Naturtex Stainless Steel fabric. All in harmony with the gloss and metal touch.”
