Not sure yet what you want to study? At Carthage, we’ll help you figure it out.

find what fuels you

rely on your guide

Meet with the designated career specialist for exploratory students to sort through options and plan out a course schedule until you’re ready to decide.

Unlike large universities, Carthage puts you in the driver’s seat right away. Freshmen can perform, conduct research, or assist in an urban classroom.

be a ‘pre’

If medical, law, or divinity school lies ahead for you, the right courses and activities often matter more than major. We offer pre-professional advising.

double up

Lots of Carthage students double-major and still graduate on time. Choose subjects that complement each other or just give yourself extra options.

create your own

If your dream major isn’t on our list of 50-plus, do it yourself. With a self-designed major, you work with professors to customize a course sequence.

lean into change

Most importantly, by giving you room to explore, cultivating universal skills, and introducing new perspectives, a Carthage education equips you to adapt.

Knowledge with a lifetime warranty

A Carthage education digs deep into your major and stretches across a wide cross-section of topics to equip you for whatever this increasingly fluid and interconnected world throws at you.

Want to fly in space? Join the club. And we mean that literally.

For more than a decade, Professor Kevin Crosby and Carthage students have partnered with NASA and leading companies to solve problems in the aerospace industry. They’re developing technology that could be key to the next generation of spacecraft and commercial jetliners.

Students from the Carthage Microgravity Team go weightless to test their promising research. Next stop for the team’s propellant gauging project? The International Space Station. Carthage is the lead institution for the NASA Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium, which supports students across the state through scholarships, research opportunities, and internships. Twelve of our own students have earned highly competitive NASA center internships in the past three years.
