EDID Expert EDID Mode Selection is an exclusive ATEN technology that allows you to choose an EDID recognition mode that optimizes display resolution throughout your installation and, because EDID information is transmitted over one Cat 5e cable, allows for faster, smoother switching between displays. The VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution is a combination of the VM0808T 8x8 / VM1616T 16x16 Cat 5 A/V Matrix Switch and the VE500 / VE300 A/V Over Cat 5 Extender. The VM0808T / VM1616T is a Matrix Switch that routes and distributes audio, video, and RS-232 signals over distances of up to 300 m with 1280x1024 video resolution. The VM0808T / VM1616T can receive data from up to 8+1 / 16 audio/video sources and transmit data to up to 8+1 / 16+1 audio/video displays. The VM0808T/VM1616T offers several convenient ways to access and control the source devices: locally, with front panel pushbuttons and an RS-232/RS-485/RS-422 serial port; and remotely, over the Internet with a browser-based web page interface. The Media Matrix Solution is an ideal solution when long runs to the A/V output locations are required, and where versatility and security are essential. The VM0808T / VM1616T is designed for deployment in environments that involve routing Video signals such as those found in casinos, transportation and logistics centers, traffic control centers, port security facilities, industrial supervision settings, etc. The VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution is the A/V system designer's first choice for efficient and economical audio and video signal routing.

Analog video presents a high quality image when the computer is directly connected to the monitor by short cables. ”Skew” is the color phase and time errors that occur when R/G/B video signals are sent long distance over Cat 5e cables, and this can result in smeared, unsharp, color-fringed images.
