MÊS INTERNACIONAL DAS BIBIOLETECAS ESCOLARES Destaque, este mês, para as atividades desenvolvidas em Olhão no âmbito do Mês das Bibliotecas Escolares.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARY MONTH This month’s feature goes to the activities developed in Olhão within the International School Library Month.

André Badalo, volta a filmar no Algarve, desta vez em pleno Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, numa produção que conta com nomes como Ricardo Pereira, Mariana Monteiro, Carla Muga e Eduardo Frazão.

O realizador, natural da Fuseta, é atualmente um nome incontornável do novo cinema português, com múltiplos prémios ganhos a nível nacional e internacional. As suas produções são, por isso, aguardadas sempre com grande expectativa. Esta não é exceção!

Para além de promover a nossa terra, esta foi também uma oportunidade para mais de 3 dezenas de jovens participarem numa produção ao mais alto nível

JOÃO DUARTE DOS SANTOS Natural de Olhão, João Duarte dos Santos tem 19 anos e revela ter entrado para a natação, aos 5 anos, por incentivo do pai, na altura, treinador do Benfica. Foi no Benfica que treinou desde os 5 anos, um pouco por brincadeira. A partir dos 12 anos começou a treinar mais a sério, regressou a Olhão e ganhou os seus primeiros prémios e medalhas, que o incentivaram a continuar, até hoje.

Ao regressar a Olhão, integrou o Grupo de Natação de Olhão, pelo qual foi federado, até o ano passado. Este ano, ingressou na faculdade, em Lisboa, motivo pelo qual regressou ao Benfica.

Na sua curta carreira, foi 18 vezes campeão nacional, bateu 3 records nacionais, foi 6 vezes ao internacional. Chegou a obter 8 vitórias no campeonato nacional, em apenas 1 ano. Em termos internacionais atingiu o 5º lugar, no Chipre.

Pensa voltar a Olhão, quando terminar a faculdade, com o objetivo de aqui realizar um ciclo olímpico para 2020.

JOÃO DUARTE DOS SANTOS Born in Olhão, João Duarte dos Santos is 19 years old and says he started swimming when he was five, encouraged by his father, who was, at the time, a coach in Benfica. It was in said team that he started swimming as a hobby. When he turned twelve, he started taking swimming more seriously, returned to Olhão, and won his first prizes and medals that encouraged him to keep going, until today.

When he got back to Olhão, he enrolled in Olhão’s Swimming Team, and participated in tournaments with them.

Due to having enrolled in college this year in Lisbon, he got back to the Benfica team.

In his short career, he was a national champion 18 times, beat three national records, and went to international championships nine times. He got to win eight victories in the national championship in just one year. In international competitions, he got the fifth place in Cyprus.

He plans on going back to Olhão when he finishes college, to with the goal of performing an Olympic cycle here to 2020.

OLHÃO SUPERA O IMPOSSÍVEL OLHÃO OVERCOMES THE IMPOSSIBLE

O Auditório de Olhão recebeu o evento Superar o Impossível, organizado pelo município e que nasceu de um projeto de 3 jovens de diferentes pontos do pais que pretendem contar as suas histórias de superação com o intuito de serem uma inspiração para as outras pessoas.

A vereadora Gracinda Rendeiro abriu a sessão que contou com a presença da MOJU e dos oradores Elsa Freitas, Pedro Pinto e Mónica Ribeiro.

Olhão’s Auditorium received the event ‘Overcoming the Impossible’, organized by county and which is a three young people project from different parts of the country who wish to tell their stories of overcoming in order to be an inspiration to others.

The councilwoman Gracinda Rendeiro opened the session which counted with the presence of Moju and orators Elsa Freitas, Pedro Pinto and Monica Ribeiro.

OLHÃO PROMOVE COMBATE À POBREZA E EXCLUSÃO SOCIAL OLHÃO FIGHTS POVERTY AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION

O Município de Olhão assinalou a Semana pelo Combate à Pobreza e Exclusão Social promovendo um programa de atividades sob o tema Olhão Solidário: Contribuir para Fazer a Diferença, que incluiu um passeio no Caíque e visitas guiadas à Ecoteca e ao Caminho das Lendas, terminando esta última com a apresentação de uma peça de teatro pela GORDA. Olhão’s Municipality marked the Week for the Fight Against Poverty and Social Exclusion by promoting a program of activities under the theme Olhão Outreach; Helping to Make a Difference, which included a tour in Caíque Bom Sucesso and guided tours in the Ecoteca and Legends Path, finishing with a street theatre play by GORDA (Cultural Association).

RECITAL NA BIBLIOTECA RECITAL IN THE LIBRARY

A Biblioteca Municipal de Olhão recebeu o recital “O Mar Ao Fundo, por Afonso Dias”. Trata-se do mais recente trabalho musical deste autor, construído com poesia e música de algarvios - naturais ou adotados - e amantes do Algarve e do Mar. Esta foi uma das muitas atividades que a Biblioteca desenvolveu no último mês, no âmbito do seu trabalho continuo de promoção da leitura.

Olhão’s Municipal Library received the recital “O Mar ao Fundo, por Afonso Dias”. It’s this artist’s the most recent musical work, built with music and poetry from Algarve’s people - natural or adopted - and from those who love Algarve and the sea.

This was one of many activities that the Library promoted in this last month, as part of its ongoing work to promote reading.

MÊS INTERNACIONAL DAS BIBLIOTECAS ESCOLARES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARY MONTH

ANA MARIA MAGALHÃES EM OLHÃO A escritora Ana Maria Magalhães visitou Olhão para estar à conversa com todos os alunos do 1º Ciclo.

Esta foi uma atividade organizada pela Rede de Bibliotecas de Olhão, em parceria com a CMO e o grupo Leya, no âmbito do Mês Internacional das Bibliotecas Escolares..

As sessões realizaram-se, na sua maioria, no Auditório Municipal de Olhão, gentilmente cedido pela Câmara Municipal, a fim de proporcionar a todos os alunos do 1º Ciclo esta oportunidade única de estar à conversa com a escritora.

Foi também realizada uma sessão na Universidade do Algarve que também se juntou a esta iniciativa.

Para além deste encontro, foram dinamizadas outras atividades como a Hora do Conto “Simão Mentiras”, para os alunos do pré-escolar, em articulação com a Biblioteca Municipal de Olhão, e “Leituras Encenadas” para 2º, 3º Ciclos e Ensino Secundário, em articulação com o grupo “A Gorda” e a Casa da Juventude.

No dia 27 de outubro – Dia das Bibliotecas Escolares, realizou-se todas as escolas públicas e privadas de Olhão a atividade “Olhão a Ler”, em que todos os alunos do concelho pararam para ler um pequeno texto.

Todas estas iniciativas resultaram de um esforço conjunto de toda a organização que pretendeu proporcionar momentos únicos a todos os alunos do concelho, promovendo a literacia da leitura, competência básica na formação de cidadãos letrados, informados, críticos e resilientes.

ANA MARIA MAGALHÃES IN OLHÃO The writer Ana Maria Magalhães visited Olhão to chat with all the students from 1st Cycle This was one of the activities organized by Olhão’s Library Network, in partnership with Olhão’s Municipality and Leya, within the International School Library Month.

These sessions were held, in their majority, in Olhão’s Municipal Auditorium, kindly provided by the Municipality in order to give all students from 1st Cycle this unique opportunity to talk with the writer.

There was also held a session in the University of Algarve, that joined the initiative.

In addition to this meeting, other activities were held, such as Story Time with “Simão Mentiras”, for kindergarten students, in partnership with Olhão’s Municipal Library, and, for 2nd and 3rd Cycle and Secondary School students, “Staged Readings”, with GORDA, the Culltural Association, and Casa da Juventude (Youth House).

In October 27th, the School Library Day, there was held in all of Olhão’s public and private schools the activity “Olhão Reading”, in which all the students stopped their activities to read a small text.

All these initiatives resulted from an a joint effort of the entire organization that sought to provide unforgettable moments for all students in the county, promoting reading literacy, basic competence in training literate, informed, critical and resilient citizens.

rEVOLUÇÃO

Anda meio mundo a tentar enganar meio mundo, meio mundo a procura do que o outro meio mundo não tem, meio mundo a achar que é melhor que meio mundo.

Quando não passamos de meras formiguinhas desprezáveis que destroem o seu habitat, iguais as formiguinhas desprezáveis do outro meio mundo. Enquanto a sociedade andar de olhos fechados e boca bem aberta a proclamar aquilo que diz que viu com a venda a tampa-los os órgãos de visão, continuaremos a progredir sabe-se a força superior para onde.

Meu caro Homo sapiens, dizem que tu és a espécie que pensa, mas o macaco do teu pai conseguiu por vezes pensar mais do que tu. É completamente inadmissível que neste século que tem tudo e mais um pouco para realmente pensares, devido a aprendizagem que os verdadeiros Homos sapiens nos deixou, que tu abras a tua maldita boca para proclamares o inverídico. Afinal, tu consegues utilizar o tico e o teco ao mesmo tempo? Tu lá tens autoconsciência? Aquela consciência autorreflexiva?

Ou viveras a continuar a ser benemérito e a fazer a reflecção do teu próximo porque coitado ele não sabe se auto-refletir.

Enfim... Falam muito mas pouco dizem...

Quero agradecer a todos os nossos colaboradores, a todos que por cá passaram e deixaram o seu contributo para que em dias de trevas, possamos ver que cá se faz, quero agradecer a todos que depositaram uma confiança e tempo para que o jornal J tenha

chegado aos dois anos e para que possam vir mais.

Quero agradecer a esta juventude que pelo amor de nós mesmos, somos a evolução a revolução, o futuro, e que o futuro seja honesto!

Faço voluntariado no Projeto Faro Adentro da InLoco, com jovens até aos 17 anos. Coopero com a AIESEC que é a maior ONG de e para estudantes (18 aos 30), a nível mundial, onde trabalhamos para promover a liderança e encontrar estágios profissionais ou sociais, no estrangeiro […]

Acho que o voluntariado jovem tem vindo a aumentar e penso que seja positivo para todos porque estamos a ajudar aqueles que mais necessitam. Estava disposto a fazê-lo na área do desporto, visto que gosto muito desta área, na qual quero seguir uma carreira profissional.

I’m volunteering in Projeto Faro Adentro by InLoco, with young people up to 17 years old. I cooperate with AIESEC, which is the biggest NGO by students, for students (18 to 30 years old) worldwide, where we work to promote leadership and find internships abroad.

I think young volunteering has been increasing, and I think it’s benefitial to everyone, because we’re helping those who need in the most. I’m available to volunteer in sports, since I like that area, and I want to follow it as a professional career.

Ajuda-nos a crescer e a pensar de forma diferente […] É uma forma de poder demonstrar às pessoas que passam mais dificuldades, quer economicamente, quer psicologicamente, que também existem pessoas que se preocupam com elas.

É essencial na construção do carácter dos jovens e contribui para a evolução da sociedade. Acresce experiências enriquecedoras ao nível da interação e entreajuda para colmatar as necessidades existentes e a nível pessoal […] Vou ser voluntaria num projeto de patinagem, no Hóquei Clube Portimão.

Com cada vez mais recémlicenciados, com um mercado sobrelotado de jovens talentos, muitas das vezes o fator diferenciador encontrase nestas atividades que fazem com que os jovens adquiram experiência profissional. Faço voluntariado numa associação que acolhe estudantes em Roterdão […].

It’s essential in building young people’s character and it contributes to the evolution of society. It adds enriching experiences in terms of interaction and mutual support to address existing needs and needs in a personal level. I’m going to volunteer in a skating project, in Hóquei Clube de Portimão (Portimão Hockey Club).

With our increasing number of recent graduates, and a market full of young talents, many times the differentiating factor is found on these activities that make young people acquire professional experience. I volunteer in an association that hosts students from Roterdam.

Além de ser importante para quem beneficia, também o é para quem o faz! Actualmente faço-o no Projecto Koordena e Diverte-te, da Casa do Benfica em Olhão (Karaté) […] Estou disponível para o fazer na área do desporto, não excluindo outras áreas!

Besides being important from the ones it’s aimed for, it also is for the ones who volunteer! I’m currently volunteering in Projecto Koordena e Diverte-te, in Casa do Benfica in Olhão (karate).

My dear Homo sapiens, they say you’re the species that thinks, but your monkey father could think twice as much as you.

It is completely unacceptable that in this century, which has everything and a little more for you to think about, due to the learning that the true Homo sapiens left us, you open your damned mouth to proclaim the untrue. Can you at least use two neurons at the same time? Do you even have a self conscience? That self reflective conscience? Or will you keep on being the praiseworthy one who reflects about the next one, because that poor devil doesn’t know how to reflect about themselves.

Oh, well… They talk, and talk, but they do little…

I want to thank all our collaborators, everyone who stopped by and contributed, and so that in the darkest days, we can see that we do something in here, I want to thank everyone who have placed their trust and time so that the J Newspaper got to two years, and may there be more.

I want to thank our youth, because for the love to ourselves, we are the evolution and the revolution and may the future be honest!

“If you want peace, then prepare for war. If you want nothing, then rest in peace.”

It helps us grow up and think a different way. It’s a way to show people in need, be it economical or emotional need, that there are people who care about them.
