Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Sunriver Stars Community Theater (SSCT) has entertained audiences with its outstanding performances.

Thrilled to return to the stage, the Stars invite you to attend its amazing shows for the 2022 season. Or lend your talent to acting or being behind the scenes for a play.

A fundraiser for Ukraine, The Blabbermouth, The Puff Monster and the Wolf, is being directed by Victoria Kristy. The dinner theater is June 3 and 4. Victoria Kristy and Michele Hans are directing OZ with performances October 20 to 23.

SSCT was founded by Victoria Kristy, with the mission of providing quality, family-friendly entertainment and educational opportunities for Sunriver and the surrounding communities. While living in Tacoma, Kristy loved vacationing in Sunriver, often hosting friends and even an artists’ retreat where she shared her dream of starting a community theater, the one thing Sunriver seemed to be missing. Kristy had spent more than 40 years directing children’s theater in Arizona, California and Washington. Sunriver wouldn’t feel like home until she had a creative outlet, and thus, Sunriver Stars Community Theater was born.

“I have enjoyed watching it grow up,” she said. “We took those first baby steps together and learned along the way how to become the strong, professional group we are today. It has been thrilling to watch my ‘baby’ mature.”

The shows are held at The DOOR church in the Sunriver Business Park. Adding to the community charm, many of the Stars actors and audience members have been involved since the launch, Kristy said.
