PHILANTHROPY
Sunriver Women’s Club (SRWC) is a group of active, engaged and caring women who enjoy shared interests and having fun together. They have been active in the community since 1972 with close to 300 members.
EVERYONE’S WELCOME
The club welcomes all women from Sunriver and the surrounding communities. Many members are full-time or parttime residents of Central Oregon. However, some live full-time in other areas and have chosen to support the SRWC through its philanthropy programs. Join this amazing and diverse group of women by signing up at sunriverwomensclub.org.
SRWC has a long history of supporting nonprofit organizations in South Deschutes County. Since 1999, the SRWC has granted more than $760,000. In 2021, members granted Photos courtesy of Sunriver Women’s Club $58,413 to nonprofits providing the necessities of food, shelter, health, clothing, education, child development and care for children and families.
HELP MEMBERS RAISE $50,000 TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS
Members have several events planned to celebrate their 50th anniversary, including kicking off its Power of 50 for Education. The club’s goal is to raise $50,000 for students in South Deschutes County.
ATTEND A FUNDRAISER
The SRWC grants funds due to its highly successful Sunriver Art Fair and its spring fundraiser, Art Meets Wine in the High Desert. Members also participate in smaller fundraisers, which benefit the philanthropy fund. The club’s theme, 50 Years of Steppin’ Up for Friends, Fun and Philanthropy, really tells you what the SRWC is all about. For information, visit sunriverwomensclub.org.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
SRWC has social activities for everyone’s interest. Activities include winter fun, dinner club, hiking groups, book clubs, lunch with friends, a knitting group, monthly luncheons with interesting speakers and a group that participates in a variety of social activities. In July, as a thank you to the community, we organize the Community Picnic in Mary McCallum Park. In September, we kick off our membership year with a Welcome Event to showcase what SRWC does.
Sunriver Men’s Club
It started with a few men meeting for lunch and informally became the Sunriver Men’s Club. Still incredibly informal, the Sunriver Men’s Club has grown to a larger group of men and women from the greater Sunriver area, who meet once a month for lunch and fellowship.
Our speakers are the highlight of the luncheons. Most speakers are local and have an interesting story or insights on local issues or an educational message. Previous speakers have been the general manager of Mt. Bachelor, the local police and fire chiefs, the CEO of St. Charles, the oldest gentleman to climb Mt. Everest and raptor rehab at the Sunriver Nature Center.
Like the original group, we still have no dues, no service projects, no commitments and no business meetings. We announce our luncheons in the Sunriver Scene and via a timely email. You are invited to participate. Come once or come every time. Connect with old friends or make a new friend at one of our monthly luncheons.
