Accredited Academic Program Educational Excellence is a core value at Cascade Christian Schools. It is therefore necessary to continue to maintain a high-quality academic program. This is done, in part, through CCS being accountable through accreditation with and participation in several organizations. Cascade Christian Schools is approved by the State Board of Education, and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) through AdvanceED and the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC). Our early learning program is licensed through the Washington State Department of Early Learning, and we participate in Washington Early Achievers, Washington’s quality rating and improvement system. We are a member school of the Washington Federation of Independent Schools (WFIS).

A Well-rounded Educational Experience Cascade Christian Schools knows that school is not just about academics, and that students need to have a well-rounded experience which prepares them for both their next level of education and for life. Therefore, students at each stage of their Cascade Christian Schools’ experience learn through focusing on four areas‌

Academic Excellence... At Cascade Christian Schools, excellence is defined as a
sustained, dedicated pursuit of God-given potential. In our learner-focused environments, we strive to prepare, motivate and inspire all students to have a positive approach to lifelong, discovery learning.

EARLY LEARNING CENTERS
From the Very Youngest ... Young learners in our Early Learning programs are prepared for Kindergarten and school success through our ageappropriate focus on personal/social, intellectual, physical and spiritual development. Infants and toddlers are supported and encouraged by early learning professionals to discover and achieve developmental milestones in a safe, compassionate environment. For our Kindergarten Prep students (ages 3-5), the “Get Set for School curriculum addresses different learning styles through a multi-sensory approach. The curriculum utilizes engaging lessons that invite active, hands-on participation in the areas of readiness and writing, language and literacy, and numbers and math. Science, art and music round out the core curriculum.

“Every employee my family has interacted with makes us feel welcome and at home. Having my first-born start preschool was an anxious but exciting time for us and knowing that my daughter is being taken care of while she’s at CCS soothes my heart. I also love the open communication between the teachers/staff and my family. We knew we wanted to have both our children grow up in the Cascade Christian system and this experience has reaffirmed that we are not going anywhere else.” —CCS ELC Parent

Children grow personally and socially as they develop self-help skills, the ability to problem-solve and resolve conflicts, and have empathy for others. Early learners are provided with beginning leadership opportunities that allow them to make choices, speak in front of a class, volunteer to serve, complete assigned responsibilities, and take appropriate risks. A biblical worldview is integrated throughout all curricular areas, and students participate in chapel times, bible lessons, and prayer times to nurture their faith. Activities and environments are designed to develop large and fine motor skills, as well as visual motor skills. There is ample time incorporated into each day for exercise on outdoor playgrounds and indoor play areas. All of these things prepare our students for Kindergarten!

ELEMENTARY
Prepared for the next level... An elementary education at Cascade Christian provides strong academics in the basics of reading, language arts, and mathematics, as well as a solid foundation in social studies and science, all taught from the perspective of a biblical worldview. Art, music, physical education, computer, and athletics are also a part of the curricular process during regular school hours, as well as after, in our vibrant Extended School Program. Various classroom activities, weekly chapels, and other school events provide students with opportunities for creativity, service, and leadership development. Active partnership between the elementary and junior high campuses means that each student from each elementary campus is actively being prepared for their CCS Junior High experience.

EXTENDED SCHOOL
Before and After School... Cascade Christian Schools’ elementary campuses offer a premier Extended School program to meet your family’s needs. There are two options, Cougar Club and Cougar Enrichments, which can be utilized individually, or in coordination with each other.
Cougar Club is available during non-school hours. School-aged children receive loving care, supervision, and instruction as they enjoy a variety of enriching activities with their friends. Extended hours are available at all three of our elementary campuses for CCS students. Cougar Club is also available for noon dismissal and no-school days at some of our campuses. Through Cougar Enrichments, professionals and trained staff members guide children as they learn new concepts, acquire skills and explore potential new hobbies in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. JUNIOR HIGH
Prepared for High School... The Junior High School program at Cascade Christian Schools is designed to smoothly transition students from elementary school to junior high, and to prepare students for high school by offering a basic yet rigorous academic foundation that will result in success at the high school level. A college preparatory program is introduced and college requirements are discussed. The Junior High curriculum places emphasis on the core subject areas of mathematics, science with STEM emphasis, language arts, history, digital literacy, creative arts, and Bible. Elective classes include offerings such as foreign language, various music and art classes, PE/health, and life skills, giving students the opportunity to explore and develop interest and passion areas. IMPACT Leadership development training is also core to the junior high experience at CCS. Advisory emphasizes preparation for high school and beyond. The advisory teacher also provides students with individual academic, spiritual and personal/social support during this time.

Prepared for Career... While encouraging students to attend the college of their choice, CCHS recognizes that some students will choose another path. CCHS graduates have become members of our armed services, worship leaders, business owners, and missionaries. All CCS students are trained and encouraged to lead in the areas God has called them.

Prepared for Life... Besides a great education and preparation for the work force, students at Cascade Christian Schools are encouraged to pursue friendships that will last a lifetime. But more importantly, they are encouraged to pursue their own personal relationship with Christ. A yearly conference, weekly chapels, opportunities to participate on worship team, in Bible study, and the chance to participate in Impact Term — a week of service to the community, the nation, and sometimes the world — are just some of the ways students come to know how they fit into the body of Christ.

Prepared to Lead... On the Field and on the Court...
Athletics at CCS are not “extra-curricular” — they are part of the mission. They are not just an opportunity to compete, but another opportunity to lead and be an example to their classmates and to their community. Coaches are trained to be consistent with the mission and purpose of CCS, and to work to develop the athletes’ physical skills along with their personal and spiritual growth. Athletics are available at all educational levels, from our youngest students taking part in soccer enrichment classes to our high school students participating at the WIAA State Championships.

In the Community... Students at CCS start contributing to their community early through Feet to Faith programs at the elementary school, and continuing through Junior High and High School I-Term (Impact Term) week. They are taught through personal experience that humbly serving others with a selfless attitude and sharing God’s love are important parts of their purpose for life.

On the Stage... The purpose of our Creative Arts Program is for students to fulfill their passion and purpose before God through their creative uniqueness. Inherent in this process is the opportunity for students to learn and grow as artists and leaders. All early learning and elementary students participate in music class and seasonal performances. At the elementary, junior high and high school levels, students are offered various band, choir and drama opportunities. The fundamentals of music include the study of history, theory, technical application, appreciation and interpretation, and creative design. Student learning and performance opportunities are offered through a variety of venues: Classroom Instruction Chapel Christmas and Spring Programs Off-campus Performances, Tours, and Presentations Camps Professional Organization Participation Private Lessons Worship Team
