Welcome… Thank you for considering Cascade Christian Schools’ Summer Adventure Camp 2010. “Survivor” will focus on FUN, crafts, water play, physical and mental challenges, food, worship, and Jesus. Activities to look forward to include Human Sundae, Food Fight, Water Wars, Slime Time, Animal Adventure, Chocolate Syrup Tug-of-War, Summer Picnic, Scavenger Hunt, “Fishing,” Campfire, Summer Party and much, much more. Our counselors and educators are dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, activity-packed summer experience at three locations to serve you. Choose any format: camp only, enrichment class only, leadership only or any combination that meets your family’s needs. New to our program this year are Summer Camp Add-ons. Registered campers will have the opportunity to add weekly swimming and/or piano lessons to their camp experience. For an additional $55, any registered camper may add on the weekly off site trip for swimming (covers a maximum of 8 trips*). Older campers (5th-8th grade) may opt for the all day trip to Wild Waves instead for $100 (covers a maximum of 8 trips and entrance fees*). What a blast! Summer Adventure 2010 Your
Cam p Overview: Summer Adventure 2010 is made up of two components: Adventure Day Camp and Enrichment Classes. Students may attend one or the other, or a combination of both.

Leadership Returning for the second year is a wonderful opportunity for our eldest campers. Registered 12-15 year-old campers at Puyallup may apply for a limited number of positions as Junior Counselors. Junior Counselors will participate in summer camp activities in a leadership capacity; receive leadership training (as needed) on positive reinforcement, mentoring, responsibility and trust; a 50% discount on their weekly summer camp tuition; attend Wild Waves (with paid pass and transportation fee), and have the opportunity to attend a Junior Counselor party at the end of camp at the Puyallup Campus.
Dates Summer Adventure 2010 is an eleven-week program (nine weeks at Puyallup) that begins on Monday, June 14, and ends on Tuesday, August 31. Enrichment Classes are available June 21 through August 19 (August 13 at Puyallup). All camps will be closed on July 5 in observance of Independence Day and August 25-27 for Teacher In-Service.
Ages Summer Adventure 2010 is open to all children entering 1st through 6th grades (8th at Puyallup) in the fall of 2010. See inside front cover for preschool and kindergarten information.
Times Adventure Day Camp hours are from 6 a.m. (6:30 a.m. at Puyallup) to 6 p.m., with camp activities taking place between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Enrichment Class times are from 9 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m., with extended care available at Puyallup. (See page 7 for details.) 3

Camp Costs Registration Fees Adventure Day Camp 2010 (with or without Enrichment Classes) has a one-time non-refundable registration/activity fee of $99. Registration for Enrichment Classes only is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $25. Register before May 21 and save 10% off of every week of tuition all summer long! For full time campers, that’s over $150! ($135 at Puyallup). Day Camp Costs Fees include all materials, snacks, lunch, camp t-shirt, and fields trips. Camp costs are as follows. Each additional child in a family receives 10% off per week. 5 days/wk: $150 per week • 4 days/wk: $132 per week • 3 days/wk or less: $100 per week Adventure Day Camp (full-day campers) will be billed in two-week intervals with the first payment due before the first day of camp. Payment may be made at the site or mailed to the District Office. See payment schedule for billing dates.
Add-ons (Optional Programs) Private Piano Lessons
$20 per ½-hour session (plus instruction book) Private Piano lessons are for beginners only. These weekly ½ hour lessons will introduce proper piano technique, rhythm and note reading. Piano lessons are offered Wednesday mornings only at the Puyallup camp. The instructor will contact you to arrange your specific lesson time.
Swimming
$55 Your swimming fee covers entrance fees, transportation and additional staff for a maximum of 8 weekly sessions (weather permitting). A life jacket or a signed life jacket waiver will be required for all students participating in swimming.
Tutoring
$20 per ¾-hour session Private tutoring in reading is available at the Frederickson campus. The instructor will contact you to arrange your specific day(s) and time(s).
Wild Waves (5th grade and up)
$100 Includes entrance fees, transportation and additional staff for a maximum of 8 weekly sessions (weather permitting).

Enrichment Class Costs All Enrichment Class fees are due prior to attending the class. Adventure Day Camp participants receive a 20% discount on Enrichment Classes. Students enrolled in Enrichment classes only at the Puyallup camp may attend extended care for an additional charge. Enrichment Extended Care (Puyallup only) Extended Care is offered to Enrichment Class students for an additional charge. Fees are $40 per week for either before or after class extended care (two-hour per day maximum), or $75 for both (four-hour per day maximum). A one-week advance notice is required in order to provide proper staffing. If care is needed beyond the maximum extended care allowance, please feel free to enroll in our Adventure Day Camp.
Enrollment Admission to Adventure Day Camp is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your space, mail or fax the completed registration form, and mail the registration fee to Cascade Christian Schools. Additional registration forms are available online at www.cascadechristian.org.
Withdrawal/Dismissal The Adventure Camp Director reserves the right to request withdrawal of any Adventure Day Camp or Enrichment Class student whose conduct is deemed undesirable or unsatisfactory. Failure to conform to camp standards of behavior may result in immediate dismissal without refund.
Withdrawal/Refund Policy Refunds for Adventure Day Camp or Enrichment Classes will not be issued once a session has begun. A $20 processing fee will be assessed on every refund request. To ensure proper refund, fill out a withdrawal form available in the camp office. A check will be mailed directly to your home within seven to ten days.

Adventure Day Camp combines the fun, friendships and adventure of camp with the excitement of intellectual discovery and a focus on moral and character development at all grade levels.
Supervision and Grouping of Students All programs, workshops and field trips are supervised by responsible and nurturing staff. Students remain with their teacher or counselor throughout the day, ensuring that students feel safe and “at home” while enjoying everything Adventure Day Camp has to offer. Students are grouped according to their grade level for the 2010-2011 school year. For an additional charge, enhance your child’s camp experience with swimming, piano lessons and half-day Enrichment Classes.

Enrichm ent Classes can either be taken as an enhancement to Adventure Day Camp, or on their own for students seeking summer learning opportunities, but not attending Day Camp. These classes offer students a highquality experience with enriching and challenging coursework, and an opportunity to learn new skills. Classes are small, with a typical enrollment of ten to twelve students. Each student gets one-on-one instruction and personalized assistance. With so many classes to choose from, your child can look forward to a fun and exciting Summer Adventure!
Schedule Enrichment Classes run June 21 through August 19 (August 13 at Puyallup), with new classes available on a weekly basis in two sessions each day. Session 1: 9-11 a.m. Session 2: 1-3 p.m. Enrichment Classes are held on the following days for each campus (except where noted): Puyallup: M-Th Tacoma: M-T-W-F Frederickson: M-T-Th-F Extended Care is available at the Puyallup site for an extra weekly fee. (See page 4.) You may sign your child in at any time between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Extended Care closes promptly at 5 p.m. Advance notice is required. • Frederickson Campus: Enrichment Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with NO CLASSES on Wednesdays (except where noted). • Puyallup Campus: Enrichment Classes are held Monday - Thursday with NO CLASSES on Fridays (except where noted). • Tacoma Campus: Enrichment classes are held Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays with NO CLASSES on Thursdays (except where noted). The week of July 5-9 enrichment class times will be altered to accommodate the Monday closure.
Enrollment Admission to Enrichment Classes is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited, so early registration is essential. Acceptance is based on space availability in each age group. Grades listed for classes are for the grade the student will be entering for the 2010-2011 school year.
Cancellations The Camp Director reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet minimum enrollment. If a class is cancelled, another class may be selected.

Tuition and Fees A one-time registration fee of $25 applies to non-Day Campers. Registered Adventure Day Campers receive a 20% discount on Enrichment Classes. Registration and tuition for Enrichment Classes may be paid with a check or money order, and must accompany the completed registration form.
