Station 47 is the sister station of Station 252 in New York City, where five firefighters passed in the September 11, 2001 attacks. This station, located in King of Prussia, PA, commorated their fallen brothers and sisters by building a hidden gem, 9/11 Memorial, with extensive thought and planning in every step.

Built by Charles McDonald, each part of the memorial has been measured and planned to scale some of the details of the Flight 93 crash in Shanksville, PA, Flight 77 crash into the United States Pentagon, and the fallen World Trade Center Twin Towers.

The World Trade Patio, decorated with donated bricks in memorandum of the deceased, depicts the 16 acres (to scale) of the World Trade Center site with its seven buildings, central plaza, and is encased by four binding streets. The center point of the World Trade Patio is a 47 degree angle from both the 9/11 Monument and the gazebo, for the station number of this particular firehouse.

The brickwork was a product of donations from various businesses and members of the community.

The gazebo was originally placed where the 9/11 Monument is. The line of sight from the middle of the gazebo to the monument marks the point of impact of Flight 77, the plane that crashed into the Pentagon.

The folded flag was flown March 2, 2011 at 1600 hrs on Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. It rests in the center of the World Trade patio, and is a time capsule for the firefighters of Firehouse 47. Below is the base for a beam from the World Trade Center. The two beams have been mounted to correlate with the elevator position from each building. On each beam there are 20 lights for the 40 passengers of Flight 93, which crashed in Shanksville, PA.
