Logo Design

The Original Logo

Original

For the logo used throughout my tea package designs I decided to change my logo after the in class peer critiques. My original logo design was used through all three of my package designs, although it only really matched with the lemon because of the colours used. I have made many changes to my Design as it is an important feature throughout the designs.

Changes

As you can see from the images on the right there have been many changes made to te logo. They include the changes of colour, the subtraction of drop shadows, and editing of the text “QualiTea. I believe each of these Changes have created a better logo design.

The New Logo

My New logo design has been changed to give it a more hipster feel. This logo has been designed to change with each package, this logo displayed here is used for the Berry flavoured tea package. the leaves in the design change colour for each flavour, for lemon they are yellow and for green tea they are green.

Pattern Design The Original Pattern

The original patten used throughout my package designs you can see to the right. This design was quite simplistic with only the outline colour changing throughout the each of the packages. I felt that the pattern needed to be changed so that it would match the new logo design and so that each package had its own flare.

Changes

I have made quite a few changes for my designs in response to the feedback that i recieved after the peer critiques. I have made two new patterns so that each package gets its own. The colours used in each pattern have been changed so that the fill colour is 90% black, this matches the colours used in the logo designs.

The New Patterns

The new pattern designs can be seen to the left. Each new pattern incorporates elements from the original pattern, the purple pattern. I believe the new patterns add a sense of flare and spark to each package that wasnt there before when each pattern was the same.

Rational Symbolism:

I have only used symbolism in my packaging designs once, for the tea leaves in the tea name design, the leaves are symbolic of where the tea comes from, nice and green like they are before they are picked.

Tone:

In my packaging design I have gone for a very relaxed feel, the emotion that the viewer will feel when they see the tea package I have also incorporated an elegance into the design. This has been achieved through the use of colour, the typography, the logo and the shapes and patterns that have been used throughout the design, the design is simplistic. The designs have been arranged appropriately using various methods to ensure that the viewer does feel relaxed and can find all of the information easily.

Style:

The style I have chosen reflects elements of modern design mixed with elements of the arts and crafts era. The design is quite girly, which relates to the brand I have chosen and the target audience the tea is aimed at. The design relates to females of all ages, through the colours, patterns and typography, they are all feminine elements in the design.

Typography:

For the tea packaging I have used elegant and strong type face, this is so that the viewer will feel that this is an established tea company.

Relationship:

My designs reflect the relaxed and positive environment that the company stands through the use of various elements and principals of design, including colour, style, typography and the tone of the design.

Colour:

I have chosen various colours for my packaging, each package has a different colour scheme and each scheme has been chosen to match the flavour of the tea each package holds. The first package is Berry tea, and the colours that are used for this package are Purple and dark grey The second package holds a lemon flavoured tea and the colours used are yellow and dark grey And the third package holds a green tea which uses green and dark grey Each package uses colour to represent the tea it holds. each of the colour scheme used is simple and all relate to each other through the used of dark grey. This is so that they appear as a range of teas that come from the same company.

Materials:

The materials I am using for my packaging include recycled cardboard and biodegradable tea bags. This creates a sustainable element to the design.
