Cass County Red Cross staff members Karen LaTourette and Rocky Buffum smiled for the camera as they posed for a photo at the Taste of Cass County last summer, but the two, along with Red Cross volunteers, are always ready to spring into action when an emergency happens. Rocky Buffum, executive director for the Cass County Chapter of the American Red Cross is one of only six certified disaster program managers in the nation and the first to be certified in Indiana. He is also the first chapter executive director to earn the certification.
