EU citizens have few legal obstacles in securing a job and growing professionally in Malta. The talent coming from outside of Europe is, unfortunately, facing an entry barrier and teething paperwork issues even after securing a job and relocating to the island.
Since the employer is usually the one handling most of the paperwork, IT companies are discouraged from bringing in excellent candidates.
There’s a shortage of talent on the island and I’d love to see the legal process simplified in a way that encourages companies to hire talented people regardless of their nationality.
Remote work and flexible working schedules highly reported as important job factors.

We at Castille work with legal professionals who assist the process and handle practically every aspect the second an employment contract is signed.
Developers can be onboarded remotely and start working by consultancy agreement while the work permit and visa is processed. If that still sounds too risky, our Castille Labs team is managing top global talent and helped successfully deliver amazing projects in Malta.
