Company Manager (Full time, exempt) Reports to: General Manager The Castleton Festival is seeking a dynamic individual to join its team of arts professionals on February 1, 2013 as Company Manager. Now is an exciting time to be a part of this fast-growing international music festival, whose Artistic Director and Executive Director is Maestro Lorin Maazel. The ideal candidate has prior opera experience, reads music fluently, is highly organized, active, flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of personalities. The Company Manager (full time exempt position) is responsible for providing the essential support required to maintain an efficient, producing Festival and the Castleton Artists in Training Seminar (CATS Program). This position works in conjunction with the Production Department in scheduling and coordinating all production elements of the Festival. The Company Manager has specific responsibilities in regards to guests, vehicles, transportation, housing, facilities, events and company mailings. The Company Manager works closely with the General Manager, the CFO, COO, Director of Institutional Advancement, department heads and production teams. High attention to detail and the ability to work independently is essential. Integral to this position is the demonstration of practical initiative; respectful, courteous and cooperative relationships; affirmative, efficient and ethical working practices. A strong commitment to the mission of the Festival in service to task, colleague, company and community is expected. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Arranges travel and temporary local housing for all artists/designers/CATS/faculty, production personnel and VIPs Works with Director of Institutional Advancement to manage hotel, lodging and airlines sponsorships Coordinates and tracks contents and mailings of information packets to faculty, staff and guest artists. Meets and greets guests and all incoming personnel; provides tour of Festival facilities; assists with obtaining parking permits, keys, phone lists, “rules of the house”,paychecks, reimbursements, etc. Serves as "on-call" liaison to all visiting artists and CATS Prepares/maintains season files Volunteer coordination, to include Volunteer Usher recruitment/management in conjunction with House Manager and the Production Department Facilitate auditions Housing, Travel and Transportation: Solicits housing opportunities from company members, community stakeholders, volunteers and apartment/hotel managers, maintaining information on available options. Arranges travel and housing for company members when they travel for Festival business. Vehicles: Secures vehicles (rentals) in support of activities Coordinates vehicle use, vehicle maintenance, obtaining gas credit cards, submitting trip cards and gas receipts, etc. Prepares transportation/bus schedules in coordination with Stage Management and Festival needs concerning scheduled rehearsals, classes, etc.

Volunteer Coordination: Build, inspire, and coordinate a team of volunteers, including ushers and host-families by developing relationship-building volunteer opportunities, convening meetings, and encouraging participation. · Ability to generate enthusiasm and loyalty among volunteers. · Familiarity with Northern VA and Metro DC volunteerism communities strongly preferred, especially in Rappahannock, Fauquier, Fairfax counties and the Town of Culpeper · Top-notch communication skills-in person, on the phone, and in email. · Superior ability to organize, schedule, and manage participants in several activities concurrently. · Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail. · Proficiency in building and managing a budget.
