High Performance Bond on a Wide Range of Substrates

AbraCor General Repair ®

COATING • Parts may be re-built to new specifications • Repairs made in-situ in cold, adverse weather • Excellent bonding characteristics on a wide variety of substrates • Requires no special tools to use and apply • Easily machined

DESCRIPTION:

TECHNICAL DATA:

AbraCor General Repair contains a combination of polymers and metals that provide exceptionally strong bonds to many substrates, including: steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, copper alloys, wood, concrete, many rubbers, plastics and fiberglass. With General Repair composite, parts can be re-built to new specifications, leaving repaired areas exceptionally strong. General Repair composite is easily machined using common metal working equipment. Additionally, General Repair cures at temperatures down to 32°F (0°C), so repairs may be made in-situ in adverese weather conditions. Eutectic’s cold-repair composites, made with highly advanced ceramics, carbides, polymers and other innovative materials, provide optimum wear resistance and dramatically improve the service life of coastly machinery. Greater up-time means less maintenance and higher productivity.

PROCESS PARAMETERS: Color, mixed:

Dark gray

Mixing ratio by weight:

2 resin : 1 hardener

Pot life at 75°F: (approx. 24°C)

40 minutes

Return to service:

6-8 hours

NOTE: For shaft repair applications, undercut the worn area a minimum of 1/16” and prepare by machining 20 threads per inch.

100% cure @ 150°F: (approx. 65.5°C)

3) Spread evenly over a clean, dry roughend surface with a putty knife, spatula or towel. Press the material into cracks and voids to eliminate air bubbles. Spread and shape within 20 minutes; initial cure is about 30 minutes at 75°F (24°C).

Viscosity:

Medium paste

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: 1) Remove oil, grease and scale from the surface to be coated. To ensure optimum adhesion, roughen by grit blasting to achieve a 0.002-0.003 inch profile. For smaller areas, roughening with a grinding wheel or course sandpaper is acceptable.

APPLICATIONS: • Scored, worn areas on shafts • Cracked castings • Worn-out bearing housings • Scored hydraulic rams • Heat exchanger housings

• Valve bodies • Damaged keyways
