MESSAGE My warmest greetings and congratulations to the graduates and completers of the School Year 2019-2020. Graduation and moving up ceremonies are significant occasions for the graduates and completing learners as these mark the milestones of your educational achievement. May these occasions inspire you to study harder for the fulfillment of your dreams and aspirations. Life may constantly offer you challenges, but you have to forge on. I salute the teachers, our unsung heroes, for molding the minds of our Filipino youth and producing among these learners the much-needed knowledge and competencies under the K to 12 Basic Education Program. Hours may be long and the prescribed duties may be exhausting, but shaping the future of these youth will definitely improve their lives. To the parents, we thank you for your sacrifices in attending to the needs of your children. Your guidance and support have helped build their confidence in themselves. You have exerted a powerful influence on their overall development. The theme of this year’s end-of-school rites (EOSR), “Sulong EduKalidad: Championing the Nation’s Future” is consistent with the Department’s call for national effort towards quality basic education. DepEd is committed to providing you with 21st-century skills through the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education. We continuously strive to institute reforms in our educational system to ensure that you become globally competitive and able to meet the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Again, congratulations! Sama-sama tayo sa pagsulong ng EduKalidad! Mabuhay! SEC. LEONOR M. BRIONES DEPED Secretary

MESSAGE “I would like to convey my sincerest congratulations to our completers and graduates of School Year 2019-2020! While we are in the midst of challenging times affecting our community both locally and globally, let not these hinder us from celebrating your achievement and treasuring this milestone spawned out of your utmost diligence, fervor, and hard work. This moment also calls you to cherish the incessant support and care of your parents, teachers, and other people who helped you succeed and reach this far. This year’s theme, Sulong Edukalidad: Championing the Nation’s Future, embodies the current pivotal endeavor of the Department of Education, where it responds to the challenge to shift from access to quality of education. This is the present battle cry of the Department as it seeks to address the gaps and problems that resulted in the low proficiency levels of our students based on national and international assessments. Sulong Edukalidad not only aims to improve our country’s ranking and performance but more importantly, it intends to establish the needed key reforms in basic education to ensure that our learners will achieve their full potential amidst the rapidly changing world. With the learners at the center of Sulong Edukalidad, it is symbolized by a KITE, which represents the four core components that include K to 12 curriculum review and update, Improving the learning environment, Teachers’ upskilling and reskilling, and Engagement of stakeholders for support and collaboration. Armed with the unceasing commitment of the Department to respond to the progressive learning environment of present and future learners, Sulong Edukalidad steers the aggressive reforms to globalize the quality of basic education in our country. With the kite used as a symbol of hope, Sulong Edukalidad signifies our ultimate goal to rise above these challenges in basic education and help our learners fly high and reach their dreams. Congratulations once again and keep aiming high! NICOLAS T. CAPULONG , PhD, CESO V OIC-Regional Director, DEPED Region III

MESSAGE My salute to all the graduates and completers of 2019-2020. This year’s End of School Year Rite (EOSYR) is far more different from the others we used to have, but this won’t stop us from celebrating. School year 2019-2020 is a tough one, but you were able to hurdle all the challenges that come your way. May the turn of events this end of the school year serves as an inspiration for you to continue to the next level of your education. The theme, “Sulong Edukalidad: Championing the Nation’s Future is a strong declaration of the Department of Education’s call on national effort towards quality basic education. To all the parents, thank you for all the support you gave to your children. Your undying love is what makes your children strive more to achieve their dreams. May you always continue to be on their sides during their triumphant moments or even when things will not turn out to be as what you expected. Teachers, once again you have proven that your passion, commitment and dedication can make a difference in the lives of our learners. Graduates and Completers of 2020, soar higher, realize your dreams, Balayang High School will always be here rooting for you, live with our school’s mantra, #Posible Balayang High School. MA’AM CIELITO SALAZAR

MESSAGE

The rush in the hallway and the atmosphere of busy-ness in school are signs that another academic year is ending. Three years ago I was handling clientele in the corporate world of different nationalities in the media and publishing industry. Fast forward after 10 years, I left the corporate world to teach and pursue this childhood ambition. ‘Till there were my Grade 12 students as new clientele . I was favored to manage this class. You were the first advisory class in the history of my teaching profession. I am grateful to our God for this extraordinary gift, and along these lines, thankful to share this passion in teaching to the most fitting way I could as a senior high teacher. You were there to strengthen this goal. We gained from one another through all the hard work that led to this joyful occasion. You learned that, in the face of any challenge, you can choose joy and meaning. In this truly challenging world between local and global competencies, skills like cultural awareness, flexibility, and effective communication are critical to properly deal with the expectations of people from different backgrounds. You surpassed this challenge. Effectively, you didn’t give up. You didn’t give in. You didn’t lose faith. As graduating students, don’t take your eyes off the prize. Expect the best and get it.. Remember, these 3Ms to guide your path. You have a Moral obligation, a Mission and a Mandate that the world needs today as much as ever. Continue braking a leg, but not your Spirits, Values, Beliefs and Integrity. Every end has a new beginning. As I always say to you, go up and never stop. You have to be strong and gutsy, knowing you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and switch into something positive. Yes, times are tough, and amid the Covid-19 outbreak, you made it. I am proud of you, overcomers in this life! The rush in the hallway and the atmosphere of busy-ness in school are signs that another academic year is ending. Congratulations to each and every one of you. For the impactful contributions and the difference you will make in our school, community and beyond, we say “thank you” class of 2019. May God continue to fill your lives lavishly with His gifts of grace. Thank you. Cielito Alegre-Salazar Grade 12- Class Adviser

BATCH SONG

WHERE TO NEXT?

WALK WITH ME

-Bella Thorne (Single from Midnight Sun) “I wish I could stand on a star, I wish I could be where you are They say, “don’t you ever give up” It’s so hard to be somethin’ when you’re not But I have walked alone with the stars in the moonlight night I have walked alone, no one by my side Now I walk with you with my head held high In the darkest sky, I feel so alive Adrift a lonely, little cloud Above ground where I stand so proud My face glowing loudly through the crowd As I walk with the beauty of the night But I have walked alone with the stars in the moonlit night I have walked alone, no one by my side Now I walk with you with my head held high In the darkest sky, I feel so alive Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Ooh, ooh, ooh But I have walked alone with the stars in the moonlit night I have walked alone, no one by my side Now I walk with you with my head held high In the darkest sky, I feel so alive

CLASS PROPHECY WHERE TO NEXT? “Life could have been useless, empty and even undetermined without dreams. Dreams and aspirations that’ll help you strive on the right path and guide you to your right destination. A destination that which will put you into unpredictable ups and downs that will ultimately lead you to a feeling everyone aspires to achieve, SUCCESS.” As I entered the room filled with loud unending conversations and laughters, I was astonished to see how Balayang High School as a dynamic learning institution successfully crafted those wayward students back then into persons who have achieved their dreams, have earned different honors and achievements, shared their knowledge and wisdom and have lived their lives not just aiming for their own goals but living with a purpose. There were the first batch of Senior High School Alumni of Balayang High School wearing their uniforms in their attained professions happily chitchatting with each other. Some of them were wearing their suit and elegant dresses, some on their chef and nurse uniforms, others were on dressed mightily on their police uniforms while others are in their uniforms when they’re educating their students. Then, I approached Olive Rose Gamurot wearing her majestic dress which she designed herself and now a renowned fashion designer around the world, if the program/party have started, luckily, it wasn’t, so after thanking her I decided to stroll and look around the place and then I was amazed to see different pictures hanging on the ceiling with our smiling faces which made me remember those memories we shared together. I was busy admiring the exquisite beauty of the place when I unexpectedly bumped into Cherrylyn Magbalita, a Certified Public Accountant, giving financial advices to Angela Mauyao, a successful entrepreneur who owns numerous businesses and an investor to different companies, just like Mark Nathaniel Macalling’s Computer Programming Company, Mark Joseph

Mazo’s Agricultural Equipments and Manufacturing Business and Christian Gacusan’s Auto Mechanic Business. We have talked a lot of things and in the middle of our conversation I discovered that Lieutenants Florentino, Ragma, Lapada, Gomez, Gatmin and Gapingan cannot attend our Alumni Reunion because they were sent to a special mission by Major General Jonel Jalalon. Who would have thought that those crackheads back then will become soldiers that are being sent to perilous missions to ensure the safety of their fellow countrymen and maintain peace and serenity of our country. After talking to them I went to grab some drinks then I saw Junalyn Calica talking to the servers. She was giving instructions on how they will serve food and beverages to her fellow alumni and then suddenly I remembered that she owns a famous restaurant, well-known for its world class cuisine and efficient workers. I came to her and asked how was she and her business and then she told me that foreigners from different countries were dining at her restaurant that makes her very proud. She also told me about how some of our classmates become successful just like Mika Angela Bello, who owns a pastry shop, Marjerry Balbin whose managing a coffee shop and Journey Manzano, a fast food chain proprietor. I congratulated her and then continued to walk around until I came close to a long table where the policemen and policewomen of our batch were seated and happily catching up with each other. They were talking loudly and their uproarious laughters were resounding around the place. It was SPO3 Jayson Balbin and SPO4 Mike Angelo Afable who were telling funny stories and experiences on their missions that were laughed by their co-police officers, Cristian Ivan Lagrimas, Rafael Balbin, Jhon Rix Gracia, Janary Dela Cruz, Paulo Gamido, Andrian Rosete and Adriane Guzman while the three ladies on their table Katrina Gamurot, Jessica Dizon and Alona Sela Torres just smiled and shook their heads. But before I could come to where the mighty police officers were, John Loyd Sagun, Principal III of Balayang High School called me and invited me to join their table which I obliged. I followed him and was bewildered to see Lorenz Eadrian Reyes, Rubina Gacusan, Camila Balbin and Angelica Joy Cecilia wearing their nurse uniforms conversing with Julius Catabay, Professor at a prestigious university together with Jerico Bactad, General Director of a famous Integrated School and my co-teachers, Jessa Espedilla, Denise Balana, Angelo Gacusan, Godwin Hurry Quiambao, Kristine Pangaliman, Jella Marie Pascua, Donna Lyn Torres, Jocelyn Perez and Michael Avila. I conversed with them and shared lots of laughters which made me really delighted. We listened to each others stories about how our voyage through achieving our dreams, fulfilling our responsibilities and how we go beyond the waves of problems, struggles and difficulties that life has given us and make our dreams come true. That night we gathered altogether and spent the night enjoying each other’s company, telling jokes about those embarrassing things we did before, teased those who have their crushes and make them remember how they cried because their feelings weren’t reciprocated, recalling those times when were being scolded because of being lazy, noisy, childish, and hard-headed and remembering all the unforgettable memories and experiences we spent together that we will cherish and will be told our children hopefully someday. Who would have thought that we, those childish, immature, and hard-headed students and even those who only attend school during examination would be successful, can fulfill their dreams, can contribute to help maintain peace and serenity in our country, will educate and share their wisdom and knowledge, assist and treat those patients that have illnesses, serve people with efficiency and live with a purpose. Kudos to all of you Batch 2019-2020
