Especially since a rumour has become increasingly persistent: there have been sightings of a submarine whose ghostly presence could indicate that French nuclear tests are resuming. Antoine (Denis Ménochet) and Olga (Marina Foïs) are a French couple that settled down, some time ago, in a small village, in inland Galicia. There, they lead a peaceful life, although coexisting with the local people isn’t as idyllic as they would like. A conflict with their neighbors, the Anta brothers (Luis Zahera & Diego Anido), breaks out whereby tension will grow throughout the hamlet until it reaches a point of no return.

Through a photographic narrative, this film presents texts of Marko Tomaš, a poet from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Marko and Maja are moving flats in Sarajevo. Maja’s depression turns Marko’s struggle into poetry, and played on the radio, Marko’s poems become the last bridge of communication between them.

Without excusing his acts, the film creates a space in which the abuser has a voice. In this way the film brings a new perspective on violence and abuse with a focus on the breaking of violent cycles and the urgent need for a healing process in society.
