by Mateo Gil Produced by Zeta Cinema, Atresmedia Cine Contact Zeta Cinema infocine@zetaaudiovisual.es
Manel (a promising, somewhat neurotic Physics graduate) is set to prove to us, in this rom-com/science documentary hybrid, how the laws of physics discovered by Newton, Einstein and the founders of quantum physics can be applied to feelings and relationships, and how come his love affair with Elena (a young, successful model turned into actress) was destined to inevitably fail as determined by those same laws and, specially, by those of a lesser-known discipline: thermodynamics. If all your obligations, all your duties, were being performed by that ‘other you’, would you fight to recover your lost identity? Or, on the contrary, would you try to find your own being far from everything that was supposed to be your ‘normal’ life? And, in that case, would this option help you find true happiness? What’s it like to spend the whole day sitting in a chair, greeting residents and visitors, looking professional all the while? Many of us have wondered the same thing when encountering a doorman. The Interior City documents the entrances of apartment complexes designed by people who seem to have thought of everything except for the doorman. The silence and artificiality of a doorman’s professional life- perhaps partly spent in reflection or meditation- illustrates how utterly strange our everyday world can be.

What would you do if one day you realise that a double, a doppelganger similar to you, has taken your place in life and nobody even suspects that she is not you? If all your obligations, all your duties, were being performed by that ‘other you’, would you fight to recover your lost identity? Or, on the contrary, would you try to find your own being far from everything that was supposed to be your ‘normal’ life? And, in that case, would this option help you find true happiness? Las leyes de la termodinámica The Laws of Thermodynamics by Mateo Gil Produced by Zeta Cinema, Atresmedia Cine Manel (a promising, somewhat neurotic Physics graduate) is set to prove to us, in this romcom/science documentary hybrid, how the laws of physics discovered by Newton, Einstein and the founders of quantum physics can be applied to feelings and relationships, and how come his love affair with Elena (a young, successful model turned into actress) was destined to inevitably fail as determined by those same laws and, specially, by those of a lesser-known discipline: thermodynamics.
