From the superb offering at the gala night last October 26th, organised by Flexotech at the London Hilton Hotel, OMET was crowned king of innovation in the printing machine sector.

The Holo-Foil King unit, for the in-line application of holograms to the Varyflex printing machine, was the winning candidate for the Italian company, topping the printing and converting machine market at the FLEXOTECH INTERNATIONAL PRINT & INNOVATION AWARDS 2005.

The prize was awarded by a specialist jury, acknowledging the OMET Holo-Foil King unit as the best innovation of the year for printing machines.

Until now, the answer to those problems could be found only by increasing the quantity of photoinitiators, or by increasing the power of the UV lamp.

VTI, in close cooperation with AIR LIQUIDE (the European leader in production and management of industrial gases) has developed a solution which guarantees a reliable and cost effective answer to all curing problems.

The deep knowledge of gas behaviour allowed Air Liquide to develop an innovative system which, by using Nitrogen, allows for the inertisation of the area underneath the UV lamp. When coupled with the high efficient range of UV reflectors manufactured by VTI, this systems guarantees unique performances: thanks to a reduction of the Oxygen in the area to 30 PPM, with constant gas consumptions as low as 5 litres per colour per square metre printed, the system allows for a dramatic increase of the printing speed, deceasing at the same time the energy consumptions, and avoiding any odour or yellowing.
