Seek to shadow or be mentored by a successful business person, whether a small business or a corporate firm. Work in a business for profit - “hands on experience “ with business people / customers. Get to know and understand the culture of American and International business. Do business terms such as dividends, capital surplus, or net profit interest you? Do you want to supply a good service or product to consumers ?

WOW! BUSINESS is definitely my CALLING! Where do I enroll in college after I obtain my High School Diploma ?

• Evaluate and apply with assistance from guid-

ance counselor, Alumni of Business schools, internet, books, and by asking what are the better business colleges? Are Graduates of this Business School obtaining desired jobs, satisfied with their business education, and accepted into reputable graduate schools (MBA / PHD )? Is this Business School reputably accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Business Schools (AACSB) or the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)?

• Check your finances: Tuition +

Dorm/Food + Books / Computer + Transportation / Clothes / Living Expenses = loans, part time work, scholarship NEEDS

Work within your family’s ability to assist yourself in college - attend the very

best accepted school and obtain the hightest degree possible for Business success.

The path .... continues

Degrees?? What do I need for business success ? Associates - two year general business degree - places one above many business job competitors. Bachelors

- standard college degree - a must for management, human resources, and higher corporate positions, and specific degrees such as marketing, finance, management, and accounting.

MBA - the Masters of Business Administration - a must for specific corporate positions (CEO, COO, CFO), teaching, and

respect within Business community.

PhD- PhD- definitely the “think tank” degree - a must for teaching in specific respected business schools and universi-

ties, collegiate level business text authors and business school researchers. Better yet - you are called “Doctor.”

Your personal Business

Calling!

Do you enjoy numbers or people ?

If you are a “numbers person you may become a

CPA (certified public accountant / auditor / book keeper / financial analyst, etc.) But if you truly enjoy people you may become a high achieving sales associate, or a high level management person with supervisory responsibilities. Work part time in businesses and your CALLING will unfold, peers will instruct you as to what you are truly capable of becoming, and your college courses will allow you to understand and guide your career path. Utilize your college counselor.

Talk to Business Peers, Students, and Professors. Share ideas. Accounting
