Once there was a man named Leonardo Da vinci. He was a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, someone who studies the human body, painter, sculptor, architect, plant studier, musician and writer.
but you might just know him as the painter of the mona lisa.

Leonardo Da Vinci also created the first plane. It was called the flying machine.
But before he created these famous creations, he was a typical child who was born in Vinci Italy

leonardo was born in the Renaissance, a period of time after the black death. The black death was a time where a disease called the plague was passed around Europe, killing thousands of people.
Renaissance means rebirth in french
The renaissance represented a period of history where there were new advances in education, science, art, literature and music.
When Leonardo was a young boy, he dreamed of becoming an inventor, and drew pictures of future inventions. I want to invent great things!!
Later in life, He became the apprentice for verrocchio, a famous artist from the Renaissance.
when Leonardo got older into his teenage years, he decided to follow his dream.

There was another artist that influenced Leonardo. It was marco zoppo. Hi, Im marco zoppo.
Marco Zoppo was from cento, but usually did his artwork in Bologna. he painted angels, jesus and the virgin mary.
after working with verrocchio, he became one of the worlds famous artists and inventors. He was considered a genius for everything he did.

Leonardo da vinci also painted another famous painting called the last supper. It is about jesus' last supper. Some people thought that leonardo added secret messages in this painting.

Leonardo also invented one of the worlds most handiest tools, the scissors.
Leonardo also dreamed of creating a parachute. He thought of creating a contraption that would allow a man to jump off a cliff and land safely on the ground.
He became famous because he was a smart engineer. he came up with the idea of a flying machine.
The first plane was called the Flying Machine.

Leonardo also drew pictures of the human body. It was called a vetruvian man. The picture was of a man and his organs and muscles.

After leonardo finished his paintings and inventions, he went on with his life and became a scientist who made many discoveries.

Another big thing that happened after Leonardo was famous was that the flying machine turned into a plane.
The mona lisa was passed around the world from hand to hand and finally made it back to the louvRe.

It actually wasn't Leonardo who invented THE plane, even though he invented the flying machine. the wriGHT brothers invented the first mechanical flying machine. the wright brothers were inspired by leonardo's drawings of the flying machine, and therefore created the plane.
Another thing that happened after Leonardo became famous was that artists all over the world were inspired by his beautiful creations of art, and began to imitate leonardo da vinci's style of art.

I was on a plane, then I went through some swirly hole and fell into this world. I need to get home to italy.

So miranda annoyingly decided to help leonardo get home by helping him build another flying machine. Here's some wood to build the flying machine.
But how do we make a flying machine?
So miranda, what do you do for a living?
Well, Im a singer, actress, model, magician. and everyone knows it.
Wow!! you sound like a renaissance woman. Well, I guess i am, and the whole world knows it because i tell them by making videos.
all the time Leonardo. I never want to keep my ideas to myself. My merfandas need to know about it.
so, you tell people about your ideas and creations?

This was shocking for Leonardo because when he was still in italy, drawing and inventing his ideas, he would never show anyone the books in which he had drawn his ideas in. I don't know how you can live knowing that everyone knows your ideas and thoughts.
But if I had to live here, I would think of more inventions and try to create them. I would also paint more and spread my art knowledge.
He would keep his ideas to himself, and it wasn't till after he was dead that people found his drawings.
Leonardo and Miranda began to build the flying machine.
Soon leonardo and miranda had finished building the second flying machine. Yay, we finished it!!
I don't care, and it wasn't even fun!!
So leonardo got into the flying machine and was about to leave when he realized that he didn't have anything to start it with.
Oh no, I'm stuck in the future, or the present as you would say.

Well it shouldn't be that bad.
So he began a new life in the future.
So leonardo began to paint again. He painted and created inventions like he did in italy.
But little did leonardo know what miranda was up to.

I created the scissors, which probably is quite handy for you today, and i also created the parachute which delights some of you outdoorsy people. Hey there, its me Leonardo. And yes i do look a bit old. Thats because its been a few years since you last saw me. but I'm not here to talk about my age, I'm here to tell you some wise words. so just before you put down this comic book, i want to remind you of how great an inventor and artist i was.
and I have created many more things like the first tank. Not tank that you fill with liquid, the tank that you use in battle. I also painted the mona lisa, which has you people traveling from all over the world to see it at the louvre in paris france. I have invented many more, but there are just too many things. now i must go.
