SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 11 NOVEMBER

@CaterhamSport

Dear Parents and Players, I offer parents, players, staff and official a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. As we now have the Hill Pavilion up and running I sincerely hope you experiences of sport at our school are positive.

Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport

A message from the Head of Lacrosse Jen Simpson We would like to extend a warm welcome to Walthamstow Hall and Dunottar School who will be our opponents for the lacrosse fixtures this weekend. Caterham U14A, U13A, and U12A will be taking on Wally Hall at 10am up on the hill pitches, with 2nd XII, U12B, U13B, U13C, U14B taking on Dunottar School at 11.30am. Both schools have proved to be challenging opposition so we are looking forward to some closely contested matches. The U15’s also have a very exciting and competitive weekend of lacrosse as they will be travelling away to Claremont Fan Court School for the U15 Surrey County Tournament. Both the U15A and U15B had a phenomenal county tournament at the U14 level so we are expecting another great show. Good Luck to all players today!

A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards It is a great pleasure to welcome all parents, pupils and staff from Sevenoaks School for block fixtures this week. This is one our most cherished blocks ,with both schools sharing the same positive ethos towards the game geared towards getting as many boys enjoying rugby and representing their school as possible. To this end it is no surprise that recent matches have always been very close contests that have, far more importantly, been played in a superb spirit. I am sure that today’s matches will be no different. The very best of luck to all boys involved today.

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times. We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site and Hill Fields sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
