SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 16 SEPTEMBER

@CaterhamSport

Dear Parents and Players, I offer parents, players, staff and visitors a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. If you are visiting our Hill Fields grounds, we are very near completion of our brand new pavilion, which is due to be up and running on 23 September. Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport

A message from the Head of Netball Jaclyn Leach Last Saturday was a great start for our senior teams in their Fast Five competition, I am really excited to see how our senior side, U16A and U14A compete in their fixtures against Benenden, which are all away. Good luck everyone!

A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, U15A&B, U14A, B&C, U13A&B and U12A, B&C will all travel away to Benenden for their first block fixture of the season. Benenden, reining 1st XII National Champions, always prove to be a very strong opponent. In last year’s block fixture Caterham won 4 out of 10 matches so we will be looking to improve that result this year.

After a superb set of fixtures last weekend it is my pleasure to welcome King’s Canterbury to Caterham for our block fixtures this weekend. Games between our two schools have been excellent contests in previous seasons and I am sure today will be no different. I am confident all the boys from both schools will look to build on successes and learn from any mistakes of last weekend’s first block fixtures as the rugby season gathers momentum. I also know that all matches will be played in a superb competitive spirit, with huge amounts of respect being held for all opponents.

Good luck to all players and coaches in today’s fixture.

The very best of luck to all involved in today’s fixtures.
