SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 17 NOVEMBER

@CaterhamSport

Dear Parents and Players, I offer parents, players, staff and official a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. As we now have the Hill Pavilion up and running I sincerely hope you experiences of sport at our school are positive.

Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport

A message from the Head of Netball Jaclyn Leach This Saturday the NetCats welcome England and Hertfordshire Mavericks player Lindsay Keable. Lindsay is a GK/GD with 11 caps for England, and she will be delivering a specialist defensive master class for our girls. Alongside this both a specialist shooting clinic and a specialist mid-court clinic will also be going on. All girls are welcome and so we expect to have a very busy morning with the girls refining their specific court craft skills.

A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards It is a pleasure to welcome parents, staff and pupils from St George’s Weybridge for matches this morning. After a brief hiatus block fixtures were re-established between our two schools last year and proved to be very successful with some excellent rugby played in a fantastic spirit. Both schools are keen to perform to a high level but understand that the pursuit of victory must never come at the cost of breaching the core values of the game that we hold so dear; for this reason I am confident that today will be another day of fine school boy rugby with great skills and sportsmanship on show. The very best of luck to all of boys involved in today’s matches.

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times.

We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site and Hill Fields sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
