SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 2 DECEMBER
@CaterhamSport
Dear Parents and Players, It has been a very special week for pupils and the Sports’ Department as we welcomed Matt Dawson MBE for the official opening of the Hill Fields Pavilion. We were particularly delighted at the amount of time Matt spent with the pupils during his visit, and how impressed he was with our facilities both at the main school campus and Hill Fields. I offer parents, players, staff and official a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport
A message from the Head of Lacrosse Jen Simpson The LaxCats will travel to Lady Eleanor Holles School for the second to last block fixture of the term. LEH has proved to be a significant force at many age groups especially the seniors, most recently winning the South Schools Tournament. Good Luck to all of our players as well as our opponents.
A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards It is a pleasure to welcome players, parents and staff from Reigate Grammar for our penultimate block of the season. As the boys move into the final weeks of the rugby term I am sure they will be keen to give some of their best performances of the season. I am also very pleased and grateful to welcome Sutton Valence who have stepped in to provide a game for us at U16B. The very best of luck to all boys playing today.

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times.
We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site and Hill Fields sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
