SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 30 SEPTEMBER
@CaterhamSport
Dear Parents and Players, I offer parents, players, staff and visitors a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. We are delighted to have the Hill Fields Pavilion open and I am sure that this will enhance your positive experience of sport at Caterham School. Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport

A message from the Head of Netball Jaclyn Leach
A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards
This Saturday we have three InterCats tournaments here on our courts. The U15A, U14A and U13A will be competing against each other to see who can claim the Junior Netball A Team Championship title; then everybody is welcome to come and compete in their respective age groups: U12 and U13 in one tournament, and then the U14 and U15 in a second tournament. The aim is for everyone to turn up and enjoy playing some netball!
It is my pleasure to welcome all visitors to Caterham for what is another busy day of rugby with fixtures against Reed’s, Colfe’s and Dunottar. I am delighted that over 200 boys are representing the School today and am sure they will all thoroughly enjoy themselves and put in displays that they can look back on with pride.
Our U12 A&B VII are off to compete in the Burgess Hill tournament, which starts at 1pm. This will be a tough task for the girls as it is their first competitive netball fixture and they are taking on some tough opponents in the shape of Burgess Hill A&B, Brighton College, Brighton College Prep and Brighton and Hove. Good luck girls - it should be a fantastic afternoon.
The very best of luck to all boys taking part in fixtures today.

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times.
We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site or sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
